It's a bit earlier than I had intended to but I'll be posting the results of the poll from my last upload here, there were some surprising and some not so surprising results and the top 3 will have their images below. So the results were as follows;

from the 23 people who voted;

  • 4 votes for Shadow
  • 1 for Oblvion Cris
  • 3 for Mist
  • 3 for Skyrim Cris
  • 6 for Storm
  • 2 for Claire
  • 0 for Tania
  • 4 for Hilda
  • 0 for other

As I said earlier some of those are surprising (to me anyway) but may be how I phrased the question (since I asked who's hottest rather than who do you like the most) but given that Oblivion Cris is (or at least I thought she was) one of my most popular characters (as well as one of my best looking) her only getting 1 vote was surprising, Tania getting 0 is also somewhat surprising but that may be from the way the question was phrased. As for other having 0 votes that's not surprising at all since I doubt anyone remembers what my now retired characters look like or would include Teneicha in this vote (considering he is a lizard) it was there in case anyone who followed my Fallout content or liked some of the other characters I've showcased (the aforementioned Teneicha springs to mind but also Alexis and Breeze two of my other more well known Oblivion characters) had someone they could vote for (hence me asking for them to say who in the comments.) Also I have to apologise to those who voted for Storm, I've changed her skin texture since then so you were voting for her based on her old appearance but I do think she looks much better now.

Also if there are any changes to the results after this post goes up I'll upload them in another entry, unless I forget.

Anyway here are the images of the winners (Storm got two since she's overall winner.)

Also it wouldn't be one of my usual blog entries without some form of moaning, spoilered for your convenience;

So I mentioned in this post that I wasn't going to be getting Destiny 2 because I disagreed with its business model but while I was out getting food today I got to thinking about the other reasons it just doesn't appeal to me, outside of it being an FPS that is (FPS as a genre is one of the ones I find to be the most boring and generally any game in that genre has an immediate black mark against its name so the fact that I think Overwatch, Destiny 1 and Timesplitters (I want to say 2, might have been 3 although I liked the series as a whole) are great means they are fucking excellent) is that it doesn't DO all the much different to what Destiny 1 did which then led to me comparing it to Guild wars 2 (not as games, just as sequels.)

The way I see it a sequel has to walk a fine line between changing stuff to keep it feeling fresh, and maybe bring in new fans, but keeping just enough the same so as not to alienate the previous games fans and I feel that both Destiny 2 and Guild Wars 2 failed in doing these things but failed in two completely different ways; Guild Wars 2 changed too much about what made people love the first game (didn't help that they literally could not escalate the story any further after nightfall considering in that expansion you killed a fucking GOD) they turned a game that was never meant to be a WoW killer into a WoW killer and they fell into the trap that every "WoW killer" MMO has fallen into before; they made it TOO MUCH like WoW meaning they lost many of the fans of GW1 who liked it for NOT being a WoW killer and didn't really bring in many WoW fans because those fans already had WoW, now I know GW2 still has a good amount of players but I still see it as a failure. Where does Destiny 2 fit in this you may ask? Well Destiny 2 is on the other side of that spectrum, sure its made tweeks to aspects of the game (the single use microtransaction bait shaders being a major one) but it hasn't done ENOUGH to warrant asking you to pay £80+ for it, it is just Destiny 1.5 a cabal related expansion if you will.

So yeah that's my take on those two sequels and why they failed (without ranting and raving about all of GW2's other failures as well I may add, which is weird) and if I'm honest I haven't ever played a sequel that 100% gets that fine line correct (and yes I know I haven't technically played Destiny 2, but I did play the beta and my mate has banged on about it enough for me to make a judgement on it imho.)
