x117 race mod questions

The bashed patch can fix many issues of race mods, for example the dreaded 'googly eyes glitch'. And sometimes OBMM screws up the load order, Wrye Bash gives you total control over each individual mod. I'm using OBMM just to install OMODs, but actually never used it for mod sorting, did it all manually in Bash.

 

For the Carmine clothes, I just opened the file in NifSkope and saw that the visible part of the upperbody and the legs are connected.

You could only delete all body parts (sacrificing the ribbons which are also connected) and wear it by setting it to occupy the amulet or tail slot.

But I imagine the torso clipping through the corset part of the dress, it would have to be slightly scaled to avoid that.

This is what the dress alone looks like - it could be worn with any gloves and boots:

Or do you mean it the other way around - wearing the full Carmine set together with for example ebony gauntlets and boots, without the ebony stuff showing up? I don't think it's possible, and why? You could give the dress an armor rating in the CS and wouldn't need invisible greaves and gauntlets.

I,too,have to apologise for hijacking this thread.Sorry about that OP.As for the problem,i can't help since i've never used the bash function. :/

If bashing wont work for you maybe you should download each part by itself instead of using the omod.

 

PT The Comic Freak,i'd say more about that whole subject but maybe in a more suitable thread. xD Let's just say it sucks big time and people are hypocrites (among other things) for now.

Maybe it differs from state to state?I'm not american but i remember reading something about it.Either way,stupid laws.

And pt the difference is that lop ears elf is the custom version made it's v0.8.2 in v1 of my aio and v0.8.3 in v2.1beta the race.esp was missing in the last version of x117 and got missing in v1 of my pack it's in it in v2 though i'm experimenting with wrye to bypass the x117race.esp

Your masked character looks badass by the way, reminds me of 'Galford' from the SNK game 'Samurai Spirits' ('Samurai Shodown' in Europe).

 

Ah, thank you Cyb3r for clearing this up! So would I profit from trying your OMOD or can I leave my manual install as it is?

pt i'd suggest you wait for the v2.1beta i'm compiling atm ^^ it includes fixes over v1 i've sorted some mesh issues (that was a doozy figuring out hello wrong texture paths :P)

 

The main issue with mbp++ / x117 is finding all the various changes and not everyone says what they used or which damn bloody version it is

 

There's still some minor issues with a few chanpon races which are either a mesh issue or a texture issue

 

Have been swamped with work / wow / being sick the past weeks so really haven't had much time fooling around in my personall beta the reason i don't compile that one although it contains a small fix over v2.1beta is that it's highly unstable atm and i don't know wtf it will do to an oblivion install :P

In my console days I played a lot of Neo-Geo games, the SS games were always my favourite franchise by SNK, especially for the impressive characters and artwork.

 

I've seen this mask so many times in Bast's item list, but never had the idea to buy it and try it out on a normal-sized character...

Dumb move, as it looks great. When I played my first Oblivion character, a Breton 'Ninja witch', I think the 'Shadow Watcher' outfit had the mask that I used for a long time. And then came the love for mini races along with the need for specialised equipment for them. Changed my custom class to 'Pornstar' when I installed the Lovers system :D.

 

I'll check the 'banned' threads for your replies in the near future.

 

And I'll wait for the next version of your OMOD, Cyb3r. Are there texture fixes for the various races using the Mystic Elf skins included?

All my races derived from that look like crap - Archaic Elf or Viera for example. Never managed to fix the problem on my own.

Two more weird bugs in my fresh install :

 

-Wayshrines do not give blessings or heal damaged stats

 

-Doors to some houses are labeled with gibberish names instead of english

 

I have no idea what is causing this...unless the x117 omod did it....its the only extra mod i installed for my second playthrough...

About the giberish: If it's some shops who have their name changed then it's normal coz you're using Real_Mannequin.They sell manequins among their usual stuff.

 

PT The Comic Freak,i'm a big fan of SS too (well,you know that allready xD).The whole package was just great (i saw on youtube a recent SS game which is in 3d.i preffer 2D but it's better than nothing i guess).

hmmm strange that doesn't happen in mine but your loadorder is a bloody mess to be honest x117 and co are very picky on loadorder and yours is far off from the one i posted in the thread

 

and on real mannequin that might be it i kicked it out of v2 untill i got some more playing around with it making sure it doesn't cause problems

That's true. When Beat 'Em Ups made the jump to 3D, I somehow lost interest in them despite the enhanced freedom in movement (lateral dodging into an additional dimension). One of the very few 3D games like that I (almost literally considering the finishing moves) played to death was 'Bio Freaks' because of the completely sick characters and mutilation moves to cut off the opponents' weapon arms as a tactic.

 

I saw a demo for a 'Samurai Shodown' version for SNK's planned 64-bit system, it was incredibly badass.

Its presentation and advanced special effects (changes to the terrain in the fighting arenas for example, characters trampling down the grass) really enchanted me. I don't even know if they ever published the console...

 

The character design of many SNK games was amazing, a lot of iconic/cult characters came from series like these: 'Art of Fighting', 'Fatal Fury', 'Samurai Shodown'... They gave Capcom a run for their money at that time, when every 'Streetfighter II' was just a stale rehash of the same old design with only minor tweaks. About ten years ago, Capcom really put the pressure on, modernizing their game line-up.

But the feeling of nostalgia, fond memories when I think back of old SNK games is something no Capcom game can match.

Except 'Okami' maybe, the Capcom game with the most unique and likeable character design to me.

 

Hey, Question, you do have a Bash patch! Does the game still crash with Lop-Ear Mini if the race mods are merged into the patch?

So...the shops sell nothing but mannequins? What are the mannequins for?

 

The lord order i posted was done by BOSS. Whats wrong with it?

 

Edit : Forgot to mention one bug. Ghost NPCs like black rock pirates and knights of the nine become invisible when killed...happens even after a fresh install. Is this a known issue with some mod?

they will pt the issue is the missing x117race.esp i fixed that in v2 for v2.1 full i'm testing if substituting x117race.esp for x117race.esm works fully (only tested it a bit but it seemed oki for now)

Maybe switching to your files will help finally getting rid of my frequent crashes... The game is playable, but I'm quicksaving all the time in order not to be too surprised by the next crash that is lurking right around the corner or behind a loading door.

 

And what about the messed up Elf textures? Mystic and Archaic Elf, Wiera...? Their body skins are so bad that I never could use any of those races, and many races are using them. A few days ago, I tried to fix it by overhauling a face texture, but it doesn't show up in the game.

Must have been the wrong one out of the many floating in those folders - I was sure it was the one used by those races.

I should check the texture path in NifSkope next time.

and yeh looking forward to those shark :) and about mystic elf i'm using sizu's textures atm so no clue :P

 

and i'm playing exclusively as xeo iceelf III the other races i merely check by using the chargen amulet for the rest i really don't touch em ^^

From what I've been hearing all the time' date=' quicksave is bad. To be honest it hasn't gotten much more stable than before, since I stopped using it, but still it makes sense, because quicksave/load seems to cut corners in some situations. Nowadays I just have Streamline's Streamsave mapped to F5 and use that instead, plus it auto-streamsaves every 10 minutes. Streamline, OSR and the >2gb patch have all made a good impact on stability though.

To check a race texture, I wouldn't advise Nifskope. If you have Tes4Edit, you can have it load your entire loadorder, find the race you want in the bashed patch and see exactly where it gets its changes from. It's one of the handiest tools I've found to track down race problems, and fix them with ease.

 

@Cyber - You changed x117.esm to an esp? What about mods that require x117? They'd have to be altered to work right. The one big upside to having x117 races in an esm is that it has a pretty stable load order. This is very important for Hiyoko's kids, as they lose their race if the race plugin changes load order. This happens more frequently for an esp than an esm.

Read countless times about quicksaving being so detrimental to the game and its stability. This is a good reason to finally try Streamline.

I have that one lying around for ages, always forgot about it. Now I suddenly remember I wanted to give it a try.

The Stutter Remover I already do have installed. Thanks for the Streamline reminder!

 

I think in the meantime I found the right Ren texture to edit and tried tweaking the face again. Going to try it in-game now...

 

TES4Edit I only did use for mod cleaning before, every time I searched for dirty edits in Bash, I was shocked even so many high-profile mods like the Goddess Store were suffering from these. Didn't know TES4Edit is also such a 'Swiss Army Knife' software like Bash.

 

Maybe that's what I like so much about all this modding stuff - every day you learn something new, exciting and useful! :heart:

i did not change x117 to an esp i changed the requirements of mini lop elf to x117race.esm instead of x117race.esp and i'm testing if it has any issues and the stability issues i spoke off have nothing to do with quicksave i use streamline aswell for that ^^ and i think you mean the 4gb patch even ^^

 

and pt most mods these days are clean as a whistle take cls for example ^^

 

On another note 2.1beta of the aio is up so have fun with it and see if you can find anything i double checked everything but with such a huge mod it's hard not to have something go wrong :) i'm also testing some loadorder changes but i'll report on those later ps i'm gratefull for any faults reported it helps make the pack more complete note 2 x117 0.8 is out but it's a test version and i don't know how stable it is since naru had very very little info out about it on his blog and haven't been able to test it so i left it out of the pack for now

yep i know what you mean even ^^ i do it that way myself allways except for skyrim thanks to retarded drm lucky i still had my old obli.exe(disk version i bought ages ago and figured i'd get it on steam for the goty edition) since the steam version doesn't work all too well with the 4gb patch

I have a condition where a red line forms under the eyes of scores of NPCs (I think mostly imperials). It is quite annoying and I am uncertain what is causing it. I have installed the version mentioned here: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=11051

 

I want to post my load order and provide a screen shot but I am unsure the best way to do this. I really don't want to manually type it all. :)
