Menu Unclickable

Recommended Posts

Ok confusing title is kinda confusing i know, but heres the issue ive run into, and i dont know what exactily caused it.

The issue is that, somewhere along the line of updating files, something messed with the menu and when i hit Esc to bring up the Menu in game for the MCM Control Panel, Continue, Save, Load, Settings, Quit etc.

Nothing is clickable, except the MCM Control panel. But it doesnt highlight like the normal main menu and the way it used to.

The main menu on game load (before loading a save) works fine, once i load in though, something happens and im unable to click anything in that Esc menu, Except for the MCM Control Panel.

a bit more on this, ive tried uninstalling everything sexout related, to see if that was something to do with it, and the game wont even load, it crashs during the inital loadup before the NCR Ranger load screen even appears before the main menu.

The only thing i could do at this point would be a complete reinstall and install mods 1 by 1 to find out after which one the problem happens. But thats tedious and annoying and it didnt happen until i started updating the sexout files.

Noticed you are using MCM and Primary Needs HUD. Didn't see the unified hud project listed (http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38961). If you run MCM and/or multiple huds, you'll want to run the UHP. MCM/HUDs/etc all modify the same XML file, so usually the last one wins. The UHP checks for the related mods and makes one modification to the XML. Give that a try first before un/reinstalling completely. Also, you don;t have to do a complete un/reinstall. Just uninstall all mods, then have steam update the cache.

]EDIT] you also may want to update the Primary Needs hud with one hud (oHUD). Combines the features of pHUD, aHUD, and iHUD. [/EDIT]

ill give this a try tomorrow.

The thing is, i dont know why this suddonly popped up.

I had no issues with MCM and pHud and Lust with its PHud plugin (using the encumberance version).

It wasnt until i updated the main Sexout data, SCR, and installed Tryouts that this happened. I know i tried a few of the pregnancy versions as well, but that doesnt have anything to do with any hud or xml files so i cant see that one doing it.

ok not sure wtf now, i uninstalled the current pregnancy version, because its rather unstable (stuff works its just trying to run WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY to many scripts way to fast most times and causing crashs)

and just out of the blue, my menu starts working again like nothing was wrong.

I don't use the pregnancy mods myself (no interest), but if the mods has some MCM settings it may have a bug in them. Haven't looked at the pregnancy v3 threads for a while, but you might check there to see if someone has reported a similar issue. You might also uninstall all other sexout mods except the ones necessary to run the pregnancy mod and see if the problem still exists. It's possible that the mod is conflicting with another mod,

I just had this happen to me today; I don't think it's any sort of sexout specific glitch. Check out how it happened to me:

1 -- Opened up MCM

2 -- When to the pregnancy section to change the allowed pregnancy types to 2 for testing (my character seems unimpregnable, but it's unrelated)

3 -- Instead of hitting accept when the pop-up showed, I hit escape.

----> That's when the menu stopped working <----

I tried all sorts of things to get it back, but as it turned out the thing that brought it back was to open up another pop up (I used the same one), set it to some value and click accept. As soon as I did, it all went back to normal -- no need to uninstall anything, no need to change load order, etc. etc.

I think it's an MCM bug, basically -- or maybe even a bug in the game's UI framework itself? I dunno... but I can now make it happen 100% and fix it 100% by opening any slider menu in MCM and hitting escape instead of accept (and then doing the opposite to fix it), if that helps...

You should never hit esc while in a menu. That's been buggy in every Beth game I can remember.
