CTD Upon Load or Cell Change

Hello All,

 

I've recently begun remodding Skyrim after a long break of not playing, and everything's been fine for a few days. Just starting today, I've been unable to do two things: load previous saves, or load a new cell. The closest I got was through Alternate Start's vampire option (chosen randomly) after creating a test save, but even that crashed before I could see. I could tell that it loaded some though.

The load order is simply through LOOT. I don't believe the issue is solely Alternate Start's fault, as I opted to escape the cell and went to the exit, only to CTD when I opened the door out. I had installed some new mods, simply for looks. They are currently not in my load order (and the Merged Patch reflects that change).

 

These mods are:

• The Eyes of Beauty
• thePure v1.3 (skin texture)
• Feminine Hands UNP
• Follower -Clarice-
• KS Hairdos - HDT Physics

After uninstalling some, the saves would be loadable again but I still received the CTDs on new saves.
 

My FNIS is functioning properly and hasn't failed me yet, but it is version 6.3. I am running SKSE version 1.9.32 1.7.3 (Accidentally listed Skyrim version).

 

On another note, I cannot provide a Papyrus log, because for whatever reason, despite changing the ini settings, it won't appear in the Logs folder. At all.

 

I would appreciate any and all help, and I will provide any necessary info I may have forgotten. Hopefully I won't have to do a clean install...

The issue with not being able to load previous saves can be solved by keeping a save that does load fine and start the game loading this particular savegame, then load your current one from there. Usually, it would load fine after that.

As for the problem itself... I'm sorry, I don't have any clue.

Only problem is that no saves load. Period.

So did the problem occur first time after installing the bunch of mods that you mention in your first post? 

Do you meet the requirements for HDT mods? (Like HDT physics extensions plugin installed etc?) 

 

I assume you're using a modmanager, so installing the HDT version of KS Hairdos shouldn'T have overwritten anything. I can't see you use the non HDT version anyway. x.x 

 

I've had crashes in exteriorcells due to the whole creatureframework stuff and mods when I was checking them out, after everything worked fine for a while - couldn't load a game for life's sake too. I don't even know if it were these mods in particular or something that conflicted with them heavily. I didn't check that and just turned them off because I didn't want them anyway. After that everything worked fine again. But hat's only personal experience that I can share, no law. I'm using a totally different setup than you and like I said, it might have been a problem I produced myself, but maybe a hint to check out, as I can't come up with anything else.

HDT is installed, and loaded before all reliant mods. I'm actually using Mod Organizer, not NMM (unless that's what you meant.) The whole issue started after installing the groups of mods with KS Hairdos (the follower, skin retexture, faces, etc.) However, even after disabling those, I can't start a new save and load the exterior cells. I will attempt loading an interior cell shortly to see if it's a load issue or exterior issue.

 

EDIT: After a test (coc WhiterunBanneredMare) I got an instant crash. It is loading any new cells whatsoever, not just the main world.

That's strange. The way MO works, disabled mods should not leave any remains of themselves in your game (other than scriptstuff, but as you even have problems with a new save, this is most likely not the case) 

 

Plus, using MO it's impossible to overwrite anything.

The only thing I could think of is, that something in your game points to a file that is not there anymore, although it shouldn't, but since you're using MO that sounds impossible.  

 

Have you tried disabling all of your plugins, then start a new game, save right after character creation (or wherever after that it's save for you) to see if it works without your mods, and then re-enabling them one by one? I know it sucks, but other than that I can't come up with anything else than: Do a fresh and clan install and use this guide from the very start on: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74427/?

Will do, it was my last resort, but if it's necessary I'll do a clean install. Luckily I'm not using NMM; if I was I'd have to figure out what to delete. I follow the guide and reinstall when I have more time, but for now I'll mark this topic as solved. Thanks!
