Installing SexLab causes CTD every time

I can run the game fine, I can even start a new game... however, the moment I go to the MCM menu -> SexLab and click to install/enable the mod, the game crashes to desktop with no freezing or notification. Every time. I also waited a few times for SexLab to kick in on its own and the same thing happened. One time I disabled every single mod that uses SexLab in any way (so it was a few normal, non-sexlab mods + SexLab) and... same thing happened. I triple-checked the instructions and requirements for SexLab to make sure nothing was missing or out of date. I also tried one time with PapyrusUtil disabled, in case it was conflicting with the version contained in SexLab.
 
In the logs, every time SexLab crashes the game, the same few lines are at the very end of the log:

I had a Skyrim installation with SexLab and the whole shebang working in the past, but after uninstalling it all ages ago I'm trying to essentially do the same thing I did in the past on a fresh installation. I usually manage to debug stuff like this on my own, but this time I'm at a loss.
 
I hope I'm not missing something obvious, because that would be really embarrassing
 
EDIT: I created a new Mod Organizer profile and only enabled mods that are required by SexLab (and SexLab itself, of course). Game still crashed with the same logs as usual. The load order in that setup:

EDIT2: I installed SexLab version 1.59c (the last version I used on my old installation, so I still had the files). It worked flawlessly. Whatever is happening to my game is caused by one of the changes from 1.59c -> 1.62. Obviously, every major mod depends on the latest SexLab version, so I still need help fixing the issue :/

 

EDIT3: Version 1.61b also works fine for me. Apparently only version 1.62 crashes when installing/enabling the mod.

Right before you sent this post, I made a new Mod Organizer profile and disabled every single mod that isn't a SexLab requirement and the game crashed with the same papyrus logs usual. I'm obviously doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what it is. I hoped the extreme consistency in the logs following the crashes would help someone help me figure it out.

I cant see SexLab Aroused.esm in your list, without Aroused Sexlab won't work and i see you not installed SOS properly, missing Shlongs of Skyrim-Core.esm witout it game crashes too.

Reinstall all this mods and see if it works.

Both, SexLab Aroused.esm and SOS files are in the load order.

As I said, I also disabled every mod other than SexLab requirements (and SexLab itself) and the crash still happens. From the logs, it looks like SexLab crashes after registering the expressions (the next step, which it fails at, is registering animations). SexLab crashes on it own. When no other mod is enabled.

 

Are you telling me that SexLab Aroused and SOS affect SexLab, even when they're completely disabled in Mod Organizer?

Were you ever able to get 1.62 working, ggphasianinae?  I'm having what appears to be the same exact issue.  I'm working with the bare minimum and Skyrim crashes everytime I try to install SexLab through MCM.

I have had a similar issue, where installation CTDs.  I think the issue, at least what I have stems from the below \Skyrim\SexLab.log file:

I switched to Mod Organizer 1.3.11 (available on Nexus) from 2.07 and it works, now.  I guess 2.07 was probably some experimental version I installed for Fallout 4?  Or I'm just crazy.

 

Anyhow, I didn't do a ton of testing, but I could install SexLab from MCM and I used SexLab MatchMaker a couple times for verification.

 

Some other things I did that could be related, but I'm pretty confident aren't:

• Deleted Skyrim and did a clean install from Steam
• Switched to the XPMS skeleton from XPMSE (I'm sure I had tried this before, too)
• Am currently running with uncleaned ESMs (Update, Dawnguard, HearthFires, and Dragonborn)
• Didn't install the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Patch.  Oops.

I'd rather not have 2 different MO versions installed at the same time to get skyrim working again while I'm screwing about with fallout 4.

you should mark delightfullylost's post as the 'answered' one for this thread. that will help alot of peepz. i'll try to remember this in the future and query use of MO version 2. (it's a known thing, just didn't know the symptoms myself well)

migrated to mod organizer v1.3.11, managed to keep exact resource order and plugin load order (absolutely the same setup as I had in mo v2.07), and sexlab was installed successfully

I can concur, Mod Organizer 2.0.7 and 2.0.8 for some reason both have issues installing SexLab whilst I have no issues with MO 1.3.11, both bare essentials and with all of my other mods installed.

Got the same problem, some observations:

When I've been trying to figure out why racemenu profiles are not being loaded to the fresh new Skyrim setup (latest MO 2.0.8.1b from ~Dec 22nd), I have noticed couple of things. Some data that is usually stored in overwrite such as racemenu profiles, sexlab profiles and configs is invisible to loaded Skyrim. I tried to make a mod out of those files and put it in the end of the load order in MO - nope. After trial and error, I end up moving racemenu profiles to the regular skyrim/data and it did work for racemenu profiles. No luck with sexlab tho.

Finding out that MO was causing the (same) problem for me was good, at first. Cause the older MO version weren't able to run SKSE somehow, so i stuck with 2.0.8. But I simply installes SexLab 1.6.2 (and just it, the other SexLab mods were still in the MO) manually by copying the files into the Skyrim Data folder. SexLab installed successfully.

Got the same problem, CTD on load once SexLab 1.62 installed. The kicker is that I do manual installation. I use MO to basically unpack FOMODed archives.

Since I did not have this problem earlier, I went through and checked everything recently added. It was one or more of the Immersive Armor mods. Without them, things run as norbal as ever
