LEDAHGRIM Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Well before i grabbed the new BU dungeon pack compilation some user uploaded (i dont remember the name) i had installed the japanese version of BU dungeon and the BU framework and i downloaded the Shin saber lily BU armor version, everithing was working ok and the armor broke as normal. but now that i downloaded and installed the BU dungeon compilation with wich i can now see al the armors that were missing from the characters, my armor is not breaking anymore i mean the shin saber lily one, on the lovers settings there are some settings for the BU Framework, and i set the armor break rate to 100% and it to bealways destructible, but its still not breaking... Could it be it got messed up since i installed the BU dungeon compilation over the already existing BU dungeon japanese edition??
lurkerfrombelow Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Yes, that is quite possible. IIRC, BU is configured in a single ini file, which has breakage configuration for all BU armors. If you have replaced your old ini with the one from the compilation, any armors you have that were configured in the old ini but not in the new one will no longer work. You'll have to merge the ini files by hand, but it should be fairly easy to do.
LEDAHGRIM Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 Mmm im totally new to anything that's not copy and paste lol hahaha. Could you explain how do i merge the ini files? As a side note all armor i get from the BU dungeon compilation break normally, only that armor called "Shin saber lily" does not break, but when i had the BU dungeon in japanese version it used tobreak normally, altough i switched to the BU Dungeon compilation because there were lots of things missing in the japanese one. or if you could do me the favor to merge them i can upload the to any host you like.
lurkerfrombelow Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Well, this is the biggest headache with BU tbh, since there isn't afaik any easy way to do this, and the way BU is coded, no armor can be installed simply by copying files. Editing the ini by hand is pretty much required every single time unless you're happy with a single compilation from somewhere. Look in your oblivion\Data\ini directory for a file called BreakUndies.ini and open it in notepad. It will be filled with entries looking much like this one: ;=============== Kirin Cuirass ================ set aaBUData.DATA to sv_Construct "Derida\Kirin\kirin01.nif" SetStage aaBUDataIni 10 set aaBUData.DATA to sv_Construct "Derida\Kirin\kirin02.nif" SetStage aaBUDataIni 10 set aaBUData.DATA to sv_Construct "Derida\Kirin\kirin03.nif" SetStage aaBUDataIni 10 set aaBUData.DATA to sv_Construct "Derida\Kirin\kirin04.nif" SetStage aaBUDataIni 10 set aaBUData.ID to GetFormFromMod "MHSNKirin.esp" "00E99F" SetStage aaBUDataIni 30 ;========================================= Each of these define how a single armor breaks down under damage. What you need to do is find the old ini from your japanese installation that you overwrote, open it, and copy all the entries to your current oblivion\Data\ini\BreakUndies.ini file. The same goes for installing any particular set of armor; you need not just the files, but you also need to know what to add to the BreakUndies.ini file in order for it to work. It's a pain, and it'd be much easier if each armor had it's own ini file that could be copied in to complete installation, but alas, we aren't that lucky.
LEDAHGRIM Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 Yeah i see that, that's why i downloaded the "BU Equips merger" from the Break Undies thread and installed it and now my oblivion doest start... I even downloaded BOSS with the masterlist that has BU and BUD support but i doesnt tell me anything, it simply sorted my load order by my oblivion still doesnt start... Break Undies is starting to be a pain, if i cant solve it i guess ill just unistall it, ill try what you said tough... Should i post my Load order list so that maybe u can tell me what's wrong??
lurkerfrombelow Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Not sure if it's a load order issue, especially if you use the custom BOSS list from this board (you unchecked auto-updating the list in the BOSS tool I presume?). More importantly, did you install all the pre-requisites for BU correctly, like pluggy etc? I haven't tried the BU Dungeon compilation myself yet, so I'm not sure how much it includes.
sora3 Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Oblivion failing to start usually means a master is missing. I think the BU megapack that was posted had a master involved which uglykid failed to mention. I'm probably going to install it on a virtual PC and see which master does it need.
LEDAHGRIM Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 Hahaha i solved it myself guys, it just happens that if your armor is broken and you save and quit the game the armor is saved as "unbroken", and i mean that because later when you load your game the armor is visually "unbroken" or simply complete.... So... you have to repair your armor somewhere and then break it again... I just tested this method and it works, even with the BU dungeon compilation, still its kind of awkard to have to reapair and then break again the armor in question... But now i still have another problem (well not exactly)... I installed the "BU Equips Merger" from the "Break undies" thread on page 17 the one thats 457 MB and upon enabling it on OBMM and trying to start oblivion trough the OBSE it simply doesnt start, but if I disble it again it starts just fine so i guess a .esm is missing or something alike??
