Do any of you ever use NifUtilSuite for meshes and collisions in FNV?

I've been running into issues lately where after I go through the process of putting a collision on a mesh and export it as a nif, It doesn't seem to have the same 'grabbiness" as other meshes do. I made a small candy mesh  that's about the size of a single cigarette, but I can't grab it or move it around in the GECK as I could with a cigarette, so I'm messing up somewhere. I was recommended to use NifUtilSuite for collisions and such, but it seems to be built for Skyrim mostly. So I'm curious if any of you use it for anything besides Skyrim.
