If you want some old school MMO but with rather nice graphics and not 100% sandbox and some hardcore grinding then this is your game.

 

Launched 2002 stopped 2005 then relaunched because of fans request in 2012 as AC2 BETA.

 

Now in 2014 august 1 it's free 2 play.

 

 

Asheron´s call 2 is Old school MMO with for it´s time rather good graphics.

 

It's launched back in 2002 it was follow up of Asheron's call 1 that launched in 1999(AC1 players never liked AC2 much).

 

It had in 2005 a expansion which improved and larger the world.

 

Crafting in AC2 is deep and long and sometimes even difficult.

 

It's also hardcore grind game not only take crafting prolly YEARS also lvling up to lvl150 takes YEARS.

 

It's not a themepark but also not a pure sandbox. It have the hardcore elements of a sandbox and some elements you could say is pre traditional themepark.

 

WoW have borrowed alot from Asheron's call 2 specially the vanilla WoW era.

 

 

 

It's a MMO that have no traditional npc's with ! or? above there heads you don't have arrows or any guide that shows where to go or what to do.

 

AC2 WIKI have alot of info so if you wanne know where something is you can go there or ask ingame.

 

It have no auction house but trade shops you can buy and sell. it's all rather old fashion style don't think you see modern UI.

 

Also no instance all dungeon are open to every one.

 

It's kind of open world you can go anywhere no limitations you have a very good mount system and portals to travel fast but you can walk almost every thing to any continent.

 

Only few place need quests to complete to enter.

 

Dungeon are awesome AC2 have many dungeon with very difficult puzzles.

 

Pet's, mini's and many more fluff.

 

One of few games and AC2 was one first where you can play all kinds of music intruments.

 

Many emotes.

 

At the moment and this won't change i think its PVE oriented Asherons call 1 and 2 are famous for there PvP but when Asheron's call 2 relaunched in 2012 they desided for time being it's PVE and maybe later a PvP servers.

It have PVP but thats retsricted to some area's.

 

At the moment probably couple of hundred players from europe and US.

 

Community is GREAT and help full and you have a guild system with monarchs and tree system where you as vassel swear to someone and most of the time your patron help you on your way or with quests.

 

Community helps alot AC2 have system of felllowship of 9 players(party) AC2 is solable to some extend but most part it's group oriented game with many awesome quests alot time also with huge raid for big global quests.

 

Some dungeon can take up hours and hours some events days.

 

Because already high lvls some difficult quest manytimes high lvls help through these.

 

For 12 year old game good graphics and great community plus huge world and many awesome quests.
