[Request] Katana's Scabbard as Shield

I've been wondering if it was possible to use scabbards as shields too. The question is weither you can make it so when unsheathing sword the scabbard switches to from your hip to being held in left hand, then back again when sheathed.

 

So basically you would have a scabbard that goes invisible when sword is drawn, then appears again when sword is sheathed. And a shield that dissapears when sword is sheathed and only appears when in combat stance. Possible?

 

Modifying any blades katana in game would be good. I'm currently using a white katana called "Tang katanas" that I really love. It comes with both a scabbard and non-scabbard version and would really love to see it use the scabbard as a shield. Can be found on this thread: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=4722

Speaking of "Tang katanas", I can't get it to load in my Skyrim. I have tried 'Help "Yamato" 4', 'Help "Tang" 4', and 'Help "Katana" 4'. I am almost positive that I have extracted the .esp and other files correctly, just like any other mod? Could you instruct me?

Its because the names are in chinese moon speak and will likely show up as squares in your game. I modified the strings file to make the names show in english. You may need notepad++ to do it.

 

The 2 versions of the sword are craftable in forge under daedric catagory (dont need perk) so you can also get them that way without messing with stings file.

 

Just note that for some odd reason they dont show the model in preview and you will instead just see the last item you were on before selecting them.

no problem i would love that mod if the one on the back had a scabbard,

or was on the waist with a scabbard.

Yeah, I am looking for one that does something similar to what Neobunny suggested. Perhaps someone will make one after seeing this thread.

By any chance do you happen to have this file and willing to upload? I am unable to download it from there unfortunately. It looks like 115 has changed.
