Askan Vulrel Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I've been having major issues getting SKSE to work. Every time I run SKSE, Steam says I'm In-Game: Skyrim, but nothing happens. I waited for 15 minutes, and my game didn't show up. I disabled all my mods, and ran the game normally, and it worked. Afterwards, I tried SKSE without any mods enabled, and my game wouldn't start. But I was in Skyrim according to Steam. Every time, I have to Ctrl + Alt + Delete and end the process to have Steam go back to normal. I've re-installed SKSE, and the problems persist.
Prometeus5879 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Just a guess, have you tried running it in administrator mode, or running your mod organizer that starts it in administrator mode.
Askan Vulrel Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 It's Windows XP, no administrator mode option. And I don't use mod organizers, I manually install everything. But I installed it all the exact same way as I always did when it worked. It just won't work at all this time.
Askan Vulrel Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 Bump. This has been making it so I can't play Skyrim for the past week, please help.
TnTTnT Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Do you have Storageutil.dll in SKSE\plugins? This may be a problem (it is in my case). Â If there is, you may try to replace it with the one from Papyrusutil 2.2 (the one from 2.3 seem to have problem with some WindowsXP user).

Won't downgrading a file cause problems? I'm pretty sure that's not safe, wouldn't that fuck up SKSE?
Uriel Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Post logs "from Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE\". We might find something suspicious.

Uriel Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Move "Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\StorageUtil.save" somewhere. Should work. If this helps, post this file here please.
Askan Vulrel Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 StorageUtil.save? I have a StorageUtil.dll, but no .save. I'll try moving the .dll, though, and post back.
Askan Vulrel Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Yes, moving StorageUtil.dll worked. Danke.
Askan Vulrel Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 So, now SKSE will start, but without StorageUtil.dll installed in my SKSE/plugins folder, SoS and Sexlab won't work at all. Any suggestions?
Uriel Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Yep, that's why i suggested to remove .save, not .dll. Update to PapyrusUtil 2.5. Or it also could be that your AV software interferes with it somehow.
Askan Vulrel Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 There was no .save file. There still is none. Only a .dll. Even after upgrading it, there's still no .save file. Strange. Upgraded it, everything's working now.
