Skagg Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 o.o What are these programs? I thought they were just a bunch of posing programs that you downloaded models for and created different scenes with. Can you actually create models with daz? Please give me a little explanation so I know wether or not to take this over blender X3
GSBmodders Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 o.o What are these programs? I thought they were just a bunch of posing programs that you downloaded models for and created different scenes with. Can you actually create models with daz? Please give me a little explanation so I know wether or not to take this over blender X3 daz studio is used for creating still pose renders, animations and so on it has a variety of render setting and other effects so that you can render images that are either realistic or anime looking with daz studio 4 pro there are far more advanced features such as the new genesis body which is simply amazing, the auto rigger which is also pretty amazing really its alot for me to try and describe. your best bet is to go directly to daz studio and read up on the documentation there. shedidwhat Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 "Save 100% through 02/29/2012" so what after that date its 429.95 minus the 30% discount if we want to keep using it ? whats the catch ?
Guest Donkey Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 indeed what's the catch ?? nothing is free for reason. Also i am relecutant to give away my e-mail address due to spam..
GSBmodders Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 no catch when daz gives stuff away for free it is free unlike other places, i have been using daz since it was first introduced many many years ago and i can vouch for them. as for spam you can sign up for trhe news letter and get more promo info or not that is up to you if you say no you will not get emails from them or anyone else. the only email you will receive if you say no to the news letters anfd offers is an order confirmation and serial numbers for the products you chose. I would say that its free simply because of the entirely new interface that daz studio 4 uses. many long time daz studio users will not buy it because of this. so if anything giving it away for free is an attempt from daz to earn the larger profits from the sales generated from the characters, clothing, and hair styles that are mostly lacking for victoria 5 and genesis Also i am relecutant to give away my e-mail address due to spam.. and i gotta say i lol'd at that, that is exactly what gmail is for.
Guest GingerTom Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Daz is an honest/'crooked' company. When I first found Daz I spent over $800 in one shot on their various products (they have a lot--and they're very good)--and the next week they reduced their products (on sale) to half price. When I complained on the forums I found out from everyone else that they are constantly doing this--rake in the money from the unknowing suckers then get even more by selling it all at half price to their 'regulars' who know better. Grab the free stuff while you can--and if you want to buy something else that's at normal price then wait...it will go on sale before you can blink. NOTE: Daz is a 'safe' company to do business with--just watch your money. Ryanhabs Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Awesome find GSB, I have been wanting to mess with DAZ for a bit but didn't want to spend the money since I just bought the full 3ds max 2012. This free promotion made that choice simple.
JSNi Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Many thanks for posting this, GSB. I wanted to try their products for a while now.
Slammer64 Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Many thanks GSBmodders, I've been meaning to try my hand at animations and such, these free tools should help out tremendously.
Guest GingerTom Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I know this is Lovers Lab and not the Daz website but I've been looking over this new version and it looks very good (I left Daz a couple of years ago) it looks easier and simpler. (I had no trouble with it before but it was just a bother...) For those who have never used Daz, it's a bit like Oblivion--the Daz company makes the basic product (Studio) and then artists create 'mods' for it and improve it.
shedidwhat Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 well sence this IS Lovers Lab any Adult mods/meshes/textures for Daz3D ? or any programs that GSBmodders listed above that can be used to make Adult mods/meshes/textures Content Creator Toolkit (CCT) ( mesh editing? )
cyanure Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I have been using DAZ Studio since the old 0,7 version (or something like that), version 3 was great, even if lacking in lighting and textures managements,Tryed version 4(well buyed it) and was totally disgusted by the interface, and the upping of price and add on to have a somewhat half good render engine,Hexagon was not bad,if a little "troubling" at start and somewhat unstable on my computer, never used Bryce, shifted to Carrara instead,But with that promo I will give it a try again
cyanure Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Side note:For those who want to grab the Victoria5 product,do not forgot to purchase Genesis Morphs pack(there is 3,head,body and muscles) before grabbing Victoria 5 as she is just an"extension" for the Genesis line

CrisG9 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I have used Poser for years and never have found DAZ studio any better or any inducement to change. I actually do a lot of work in 3DMax and Maya and use Poser for special purposes. Glad some like DAZ i just never have been drawn to it.
