Fredas Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I'll clarify. A couple of things apparently happen to NPC corpses in Skyrim when they use modern, more complicated skeletons: 1) They weigh a lot more. This has an effect on the ability to move them to a new location. In fact, without a mod that counters this effect, they cannot be moved. Realistic Ragdolls makes changes to the values of various force effects, including the function of picking things up, enabling one to pick the corpses up despite the newer skeleton. It is, however, an approximation, and oftentimes one has to find a "sweet spot" before the corpse will in fact budge. This unfortunately does not do anything to correct the other problem: 2) Rigor mortis. Corpses still ragdoll but it is an effect tempered by a noticeable measure of paralysis at each joint. I can only assume that Skyrim is permitting the number of nodes in the skeleton to somehow dictate how stiff these joints are when the body is supposed to be completely limp. It makes for a highly dubious result, with corpses keeping their limbs more or less propped in place or even hugging the body rather than leaving it up to gravity. Looking for a solution to this. Can't abandon the improved skeletons with all the functional bones, but this compromise to the physics is not all that tolerable.
