Question about animations, please help.

I'm having trouble making this animation blend with other animations in Oblivion.


Right now, I'm trying to make it so they can play this animation, but still be able to attack whenever they feel like it, like how they can attack while running.


I tried downloading nifskope and lowering the priorities on all of the bones so they're lower than attack animation bones, but even when the necessary bones for one arm are higher than the priority of the bones in this idle animation, they still will just stand there and grunt without actually attacking.


Is there any actual way to do this or am I wasting my time?


I'm using playidle 1, by the way. if I don't use the one on the end to force it, it won't actually play the animation, despite having higher priorities.
