As you can see the colour of the neck and my body is different, except when I use the race chocalate elf, 100 or so races have the same issues as above.

Any suggestions would be gladly accepted

There are neck seam concealer items, better blended textures, and I think there's a small Oblivion.ini tweak to improve faces. (set bFaceGenTexturing=1 to bFaceGenTexturing=0 )

 

You can also edit the face textures yourself with GIMP/Adobe/paintshop to get them to match the bodies.

As sroro said, the difference could be in many places. There are a lot of pieces at work to generate the final image on your screen. Materials on body(clothing) and head meshes might not match. Even between one outfit and the next (or the naked body) there might be differences if the materials are set up wrong. Facegen texturing can apply a slightly different shade to the body as it does to the head. Luchaire's seam reducer for HGEC may reduce that for females, but will do nothing for males, or maybe even makes it worse on males. Textures might not match perfectly in colour. Also the glossyness might be different (check the alpha layer of the face and body normalmap textures for difference in brightness). Male and female use the same head, so when you fix the female on a race, you likely make the problem worse on the male.

 

My advice is, check the obvious places for gross mismatches, but don't expect to eliminate it completely. Best solution is still to use some form of neckhider, or to try and ignore it. For screenshots, you can use photo editing software to smooth the seam a bit.

 

Since you said it's working ok for choco elf, is that one of those glossy plastic looking skins? If that's the case it might be because that's the only race you have that has that look and unless you make the others glossy as well, things will never match. Even males would have to be glossy since they use the same head.

So, is the only method to fix it is to manually use GIMP to set textures one by one ?
