High elf hair glitch

I came across a weird glitch while messing around in the character creation...

 

Far, up close.

Same as above.

 

Essentially everything will look fine from a distance, but as the camera gets close pieces of hair will disappear. Also it's a gradual thing, it's not like whole meshes/textures suddenly turn invisible.

This thing only happens with female high elves, and I've absolutely no clue about what might be causing it.

Any ideas?

I'm posting this here mainly for the record.

Apparently an optional file from ECE (Data\Meshes\actors\character\character assets\FemaleHeadraces.tri, added when installing the 'rounder cheeks' option) causes that - exclusively on female high elves.

 

Now to find out how to edit .tri files...

 

Edit: took me 30 mins to figure out how to even open .tri files in Blender... forget it, not worth the bother.
