is there any information out there how a skeleton has to be built and which incompatibility issues exits between these animation platforms.

 

Well, I could import them to Blender and go figuring out what differences are and how IK is implemented like re-inventing a wheel.

 

BTW, it seems that the same skeleton.nif is used for all kind of characters in FO3. Any ideas on how it get trimmed for gender and age?

Gerra6 is one of the people with a lot of info on this. Look at his Blender scripts (Oblivion modders resources) and maybe PM him with any questions.
