Something in modlist messing with alt start mods

Something in my mod list is preventing either Random Alternate Start Reborn or Alternate Start - Live another Life from working. When I start a new game it just goes into the vanilla wagon ride.
I've tried disabling everything apart from RASR, USSEP and SKSE, in which case the alt start works fine.

I've also tried putting RASR to the very end of the load order, reinstalling RASR, and reinstalling all mods, which hasn't helped.

I'm on GOG SE, 1.6.1179. Not getting any crashes or SKSE warnings.

 

When I've got the energy I'll probably try disabling stuff until it works, but just in case I can save myself the effort, is this an issue anyone else has run into?

Or you could open your loadorder as-is in xEdit and see which mods are overwriting records in these alternate start mods. For LAL for instance, I imagine the intro would break if something was overwriting its changes to MQ101.
