Players and NPC stuck in tpose

Recommended Posts

This happened right after trying to install estrus. I Installed all files, and requirements, made sure I got the correct version for my game. Ran FNIS, created Mod from overwrite, and Tpose ingame. So I remove Estrus, rerun FNIS, loaded save before mod install and still Tpose. I've tried everything I can think of at this point, reinstall FNIS, deinstall creatures, tried downloading and running nemesis, reinstalled skeleton. Cleaned save of scripts, and I am now at a complete loss on where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Guess it's safe to say then that when you uninstalled Estrus, you didn't actually uninstall Estrus. As in, you still have files from that mod lingering somewhere. Your mod manager should know where. Regardless, you didn't mention inspecting the FNIS log - the most essential thing here, and the answer to 99% of all T-posing issues. In fact, might as well post it here, as the next person posting in this thread is going to ask for it anyways.

I'm using MO2, where would tell me about lingering files?

MO2 is in my opinion the best at dealing with clean uninstalls simply because of how it functions. In most cases you can be certain disabling a mod actually disables it. The cases where it does not work is when mods create new files that do not already exist anywhere else. These end up in the overwrite "mod" and will thus not be removed when the source mod is disabled. Some examples of mods that do this:

  1. Any mod with an SKSE plugin is capable of writing files anywhere on your system. Perhaps most common ones being Racemenu, ECE and PapyrusUtil.
    1. Those written to the Data directory or its subdirectories will end up in overwrite.
    2. Those written outside the Data directory will not be redirected, with some exceptions like the skyrim ini files, depending on your MO2 settings.
  2. Any mod with an SKSE plugin that exposes the capability of writing files to other systems i.e. FISSES.
  3. Outfit mods that do not come with prebuilt (or other placeholder) meshes.

Some people like to keep their overwrite directory empty at all times; sorting files into their respective mods as they're created. It may be the prefered approach if you don't really know what you're doing when it comes to Skyrim modding. I personally do not bother unless there's a problem, or the overwrite folder starts to swell to unreasonable sizes because of unused files. Files in overwrite show up in MO2's conflict resolution tools like any other mod would, so I do not see the need to sort it. Obviously, at the point when you have all your mods in overwrite, you lose the benefits provided to you by a mod manager; 30% of the files in overwrite means you're 30% on your own pretty much.
