Sims4_Creation Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I'm new to animating and am stuck. I made an animation on the newest Blender version but don't know how to transfer that to the Sims 4 Studio since new versions of Blender are incompatible. Do people use the older version of Blender to create animations or is there a way around this issue?
The Abyss Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I don't really do animations so this is probably not the answer but couldn't you just open the animation in an older/s4s compatible version of blender and save it from there?

No, the older version of Blender doesn't open any files made in the newer versions.

Open the older version of blender with a rigged sim model>Go to 'File'>'Link...'>choose your animation file>Choose Action and click the animation. To check if the animation works: Put sim rig in pose mode>Press "I" on the keyboard with a bone selected and location, rotation, scale>Vertical split and open non linear animation in the new window>right click the grey box next to 'rig action'>right click delete the new strip>open the 'add' drop down>Click Add action strip and select your animation. If this doesn't work try the whole thing again but with "append" instead of "link..." Edited August 6, 2023 by Frank Horrigan
