my game crashes when i load a save

Hi!

 

1. Please make sure you followed The Fucking Manual, and in particular the instructions for Buffout 4 (If you missed this section, scroll down a bunch and you'll find it)

 

 

2. If you set up Buffout 4 correctly you should be getting crash logs in your "Documents\my games\Fallout4\F4SE" (These logs are timestamped and start with the word Crash)

 

 

3. You will then need to follow the directions for the Crash Log Auto Scanner (CLAS) in order to scan this log for further information on how to potentially resolve the crashing.

 

Once you have a crash log and a scanned crash log, please drag those 2 files here and maybe someone can help you further, but you should start by looking in the scanned log where it has the google docs URL, and right above that it tells you what it thinks probably caused the crash.  Start there, and visit that link and Ctrl+F find the text in that document and click bookmark to send you to the area with the pertinent information.

 

Other things you can try: see if you can load a previous save. 

Start a new game as a test, can you load into the pre war bathroom safely?

A crash on loading a save could indicate a corrupted save

Make sure you are not "missing masters" or have accidentally disabled mods or plugins.  Stay away from the in-game "mods" menu as that will cause problems with your mod manager.
