Weird MCM issue

Hi

 

I'm having a weird MCM menu issue and not sure where to ask for help so thought I'd try here.

Basically, in various random MCM menus, I can't change any options.

 

e.g. if an entry has a checkbox that's currently checked, I'll select it and it will uncheck briefly, then recheck.

The same if it's unchecked, it will show checked for a second and then uncheck again.

I've tried uninstalling the associated mod, loading game, making a save without the mod, reinstalling the mod and reloading the game, but the issue continues.

I really don't want to try reinstalling all my 400+ mods from a clean install.

Is there any way to erase the entire MCM from an existing save and rebuild it ?

Make sure you have nothing overriding Sky UI's script files (*.pex), otherwise I'd say this is some 3rd party mod messing with the menus. Maybe some generic settings saver mod? I never looked into how those work.

Only thing I can think of is I installed Menu Maid 2.
I've tried disabling that and uninstalling but menus still seem scrambled.

 

I was hoping there was some way to basically wipe the entire menu info and have SkyUI rebuild it ?
I know there is the 'fix' of setstage ski_configmanagerinstance 1

But I was hoping there was something more than that.

I really don't want to have to attempt starting from a clean game and reinstall 500+ mods on the offchance that that will fix it.

Where is menu data stored ? in the save ? somewhere in skyui ? skse ?

Both, sort of. Most mods keep their data in a quest (ie. in the save), some use a json file or some other file format.

Found this that has some info about MCM entries.

I don't have lost entries but hoping this might unscramble things.
