FNIS Error (2012) with Skyrim SE 1.5.97

Recommended Posts

Hey !

I've installed Skyrim SE (build 1.5.97) on my computer and I would like to mod it with FNIS (I use Mod Organizer 2.4.4). I've go some preliminary packages :

- SKSE 2.00.20

- SkyUI SE 5.2

- RaceMenu Anniversary Edition 0.4.19

- XPMSSE 4.80

And finally FNIS Behavior SE 7.6. After installing FNIS in MO2 and select the new data folder, I configure the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe executable in MO2 and when I run it, I get this output :

ERROR(2012): Could not generate: defaultfemale.hkx defaultmale.hkx weapequip.hkx staggerbehavior.hkx sprintbehavior.hkx shout_behavior.hkx magicmountedbehavior.hkx magicbehavior.hkx magic_readied_direction_behavior.hkx 1hm_locomotion.hkx 1hm_behavior.hkx 0_master.hkx

(FNIS successfully read the installed mods)

If anyone has an idea… ?

Thanks by advance.

Here we go again.  Don't run MO2 as admin.  Don't run jack as admin if you can avoid it.  Move Skyrim to a directory that is not under Program Files.  Steam will let you do this.  I mean seriously, Steam itself doesn't run as Admin.

Let me simplify this.  A lot of mods have included DLLs.  Those could contain anything, not just stuff to mod your game.  Are you positive there is no cryptominer or ransomware in there?  No?  Then why give it permission to access every single thing on your system by giving it Admin rights?

Create your own game directory, something like C:\Games.  Install your games, mods, and modding tools there.  Now absolutely nothing needs to run as Admin.

Stop listening to years old advice, dating back to freakin' Windows XP, given by people who have no concept of security, file and folder permissions, or Least Privilege.  "Run as Admin" is totally unnecessary.  Don't do it.

Thanks a lot for your answers. ?

I didn't run anything as administrator. But I didn't cleary understood what I have to do to fix this issue…

If I'm right, I've to :

- change my version of racemenu (what version should I use ?)

- change the path of Skyrim and MO ? Currently, Skyrim and MO's folder are in my Programs Files (x86) folder.

Here is the complete output of FNIS :

>>Warning: Generator not run from a legal (Steam) Skyrim installation directory. If you use SKSE, this can be fixed by starting Skyrim once through Steam.<<
