(Request/Advice) Lara Croft Go Nude Mod

Recommended Posts

So there's a neat little game on Steam and mobile app stores called Lara Croft Go, wherein you lead a stylized, low-poly Lara through some perilous dungeons and tricky puzzles. It's brilliant and I recommend it to any turn-based puzzle-solving fans. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here was interested in either making a nude mod for the game, or giving any advice as for how I'd be able to do it myself. The game isn't very graphically complex, so it might be a good entry point for someone like me with little experience, if anyone has any tips for me as for where to even begin. As someone who's never really modded a game from scratch, I'd have no idea where to start. Any interest, ideas, or advice for how to end up with a nude Lara in this cute little puzzle game would be greatly appreciated! (It's a Unity game, if that helps)

It's a Unity game. I didn't get very far. Couldn't find textures. Either the tools I used weren't exporting things entirely, or the game is doing something really quirky by applying a color palette to mesh faces at runtime. If the latter is true, changing the palette would probably change all the mesh colors -- and Lara's mesh would need to be modified too. I merely assumed this, though, because there's a color palette file in the texture folder and no paths to actual skin textures.

Some Unity extractors:

PS> If this post is more about finishing your first mod from scratch, you should look at games based on the lineages of Source, Gamebryo, Frostbite, and MT Framework -- aka Half-Life, Elder Scrolls/Civ, Electronic Arts, and Resident Evil. These engines have standards, so whatever you learn with them will be transferable to every other engine. If you try to start with a Unity or Unreal game, you're most likely going to run into DRM, circular references, bad tools, and lazily packed assets. Lara Croft GO isn't that bad from the looks of it, but again, if it's being "clever" and using a palette, you're hosed ;).

Yeah, it's just a retexture, but I'm not sure about the possibility of importing new models without having the source skeleton.

Wow, thank you so much! Looks adorable! Guess it's time for another replay of this game
