pds123 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Clean save resources I just posted this up over at the nexus and I'm posting it here too in case someone can make use of it http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33006 This is a collection of clean vanilla saves from the start of the game I made for my own personal use. You can use these to troubleshoot problems and mod conflicts. The character is the default Nord male or female with nothing changed as you can always change this later. Skyrim 1.8 They only use Skyrim.esm and Update.esm as their masters. No DLC is loaded No DLC High res Textures are loaded The masters haven't been cleaned. I suggest you clean your master files after using one of these saves using the latest version of TES5Edit. StartVanilla1.ess Skipping the cart ride intro will start you right before the Character creation screen StartVanilla2.ess After the dragon attack at Helgen, you can choose to go with Hadvir or Ralof StartVanilla3.ess After completing Helgen with Hadvar outside before you walk to Riverwood StartVanilla4.ess At the standing stones with Hadvar StartVanilla5.ess Inside Alvor and Sigrid's house after the first conversation StartVanilla6.ess Imperial - Inside Dragonsreach before talking to Jarl Balgruf, Golden Claw Quest started. StartVanilla7.ess Imperial - Inside Dragonsreach after talking to Farengar, Bleakfalls Barrow Quest started. StartVanilla8.ess After completing Helgen with Ralof outside before you walk to Riverwood StartVanilla9.ess At the standing stones with Ralof StartVanilla10.ess Inside Hod and Gerdur's house after the first conversation StartVanilla11.ess Stormcloack - Inside Dragonsreach before talking to Jarl Balgruf, Golden Claw Quest started. StartVanilla12.ess Stormcloack - Inside Dragonsreach after talking to Farengar, Bleakfalls Barrow Quest started. Different genders will have different file names e.g. StartVanillaMale1.ess or StartVanillaFemale1.ess I have picked the warrior stone on all save files after the standing stones. Installation : Pick which gender saves you want. Put the file or files of choice inside your save game folder. The default path is : C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\my games\skyrim\Saves Open skyrim and load the save. If you wish to safely change your race after loading a save file : Open the console and type “showracemenu” without the quotes “” Close the console and set your new race, gender and appearance set your name and finish character creation. Save the game Exit skyrim completely and then reopen and reload your save. Make another new save Regarding the showracemenu command : http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console Using this command to alter one's race will reset skills and health/magicka/stamina to default levels. This command can be safely used to alter a character's appearance without causing any unwanted side-effects as long as race is not changed. However, it should be noted that upon completing your changes and choosing a name for your character, all temporary active effects (such as Gift of Charity or shrine blessings) will be removed. Racial resistances will no longer be listed in Active Effects until the game is loaded from the main menu, at which time racial resistances will be automatically reapplied. Permanent active effects such as those from guardian stones or perks will not be lost. Active effects granted from enchanted items will not be listed until the items are re-equipped. If you have crashes on the racemenu then it's normally related to too many highpoly items such as apachii skyhairs. You can safely edit apachii's mod using this method : http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32768/ If you wish to start at a higher level or wish to customize your character using batch files I suggest using this skyrim character modifier : http://vitaln.com/ehalos/skyrim/ Suggested tools and resources for skyrim : Wrye Bash : http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1840 Boss: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6 TES5Edit: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25859 SKSE: http://skse.silverlock.org/ Usage: Do whatever you want with the files. No permission needed. No endorsements needed. I'm not responsible for your pc blowing up or breaking a saved game. http://wryemusings.com/Cathedral%20vs.%20Parlor.html
