Guest Lady Luck Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 3DS MAX Crash course for beginners Things you need .latest nifskope . autodesk 3ds max 2009 or 2012 a plugin to import the file " Importing/exporting the armor " once you installed and activate your 3ds max application installed this plugin which located here http://www.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3874 import template for armors/weapons export template for armors/weapons Note : see that weld vertices , if you don't plan to use it on body sliders make-sure you set it 0.0 by default idk what's the effect , it depends if the armor too bulky for it's own good you need to calculate the body slide to appropriate number other wise the mesh will messed up. Next Step " preparing nif files" Trick To enable Textures on Creation kit assuming you already know how to change the default model to your modded one , this is the real way to cheat nifskope and to cheat creation kit. 1. Backup original copy e.g " myarmor.nif" 2. open your modded mesh that you just updated via 3ds max there is texture showing on nifskope after you import it , but ck will detect non compatible texture from 3ds max don't worry i found like i said quick way to solve that bs. 3. Load your original backup armor and then load the modded version 4, copy block BSlightningPropety on the original file and then delete the modded Bslightningpropety paste the original bslightning propety on your modded armor , you don't need to edit anything else you just need to trick nifskope, thinking it uses the legit file after that save the file. 5. when you done launch ck , if you don't do these step importing the armor via 3ds max plugin will make the texture white , if done correctly the model will appear properly without no errors usually missing textures came from different conversion that ck didn't understand . Happy modding
