I tried replacing the preview icon of COS with the method you used, but I found that the color information looks a bit odd, as shown in the following image. I'm not sure if there's a solution to correct the color issue.

Early DOA5 primarily uses a color palette to display colors. Regarding COS, I think it is displayed in gray, but if you use the color palette from the settings, the color will be displayed. I saved it using Photoshop's DDS plugin, but the texture tool is currently rejecting it. It is possible to modify the image information with a binary editor and save it, but the color information will be incorrect.

Thanks for your response. It seems like the preview icon for the COS clothing can't show the colors accurately.

(I just used a rainbow texture to test which colors could display properly, but seems nothing😅)

For COS costumes, select Use color palette from the red circle settings.

The blue circle is the color palette of ZACK's exclusive COS costume. This varies for each character

The problem is that I need to save it in RGB8 DDS format. Without this, it would be impossible to reproduce the vivid colors of COS costumes.

I'm having a hard time reproducing Photoshop because I can't reproduce the color format the game was originally released in.

I used paint.net (free) to save dds format(RGB8). I just tested it, and it appears that each slot uses a different color palette. It sounds like modifying the "RGBA32" files of the character is necessary to have a chance of displaying colors correctly.

Hmmm....I think I understand now. HONOK has 6 COS costumes, so it has 6 sets of color palettes. Changing the color palette corresponding to the column number should be possible. However, how can I generate a set of color palettes for one column?
