yup, I'm learning to play the Russians now, not just cos of Catherines bust though. (lol, I am SURE her image is not historicially accurate)

It might be, if you look at Catherine the Great the paitings from her younger years.

There are rumours Firaxis took this as a reference:

I usually play as Russia and have a Soviet Government. I had one game as Russia when i had Dominated Everyone but America. At this point america was one of my allies and had no gold so i helped them out by giving them a HUGE sum of gold so they can get back on their feet. This was a stupid idea on my part as they used the gold not to feed their own people but to attack me. So I moved my giant death robot and tanks and destroyed america in a couple of turns and won a domination victory.

hmm, the outfit I suppose is accurate but still, I dont know about the tits, I think it was overkill, there is that all russian women have huge tits sterotype afterall.

Well she was born in what later on would be Poland.

And some women had huge tits, even back then.

Top that up with a corsette that almost made them faint.

Sure they used "artistic license" but, hell, it works :)

Civ 5 is a pretty fun game. However what killed it for me was the fact that units on transport ships can get swallowed up by combat ships with extreme ease. I once had a decent sized force travelling on ships to an enemy on another continent. With one ship they managed to destroy my entire army before my own combat ships could get there! Why can't they defend themselves!? In order for the enemy to destroy/disable/capture a ship before cannons they needed to board the ship and take it! But on the ship are armored soldiers who apparently can't do anything about it! And even if the ships had cannons, why wouldn't these transport ships have any cannons themselves!?

Does anyone agree!?

why the hell didn't you have ships with them in first place??  thats like sending a settler out without a warrior and complaining barbs get him :P

Well... I guess I was being a little bit impatient  . I didn't really want to wait another 15+ turns to get two friggin biremes or whatever. But still, I think that armored soldiers on ships shouldn't be so vulnerable in the first place. I'm not saying to make them multi-purpose units that are both effective on land and sea, but they shouldn't sink when an enemy ship comes close to one.

Firaxis sorted that out in Gods and Kings.

In the expansion all naval units have hit points. So if an event of not bringing naval escort they can take a hit or two so you can put them on a land tile.

in the early ages maybe.  good luck stopping an angry battleship or submarine though, I play gods and kings and I've sunken a large amount of troop transports in 1 hit with an upgraded battleship.

bombers are also good at getting rid of transports.

still, one thing everyone should sink are aircraft carriers.  made the mistake once of ignoring a carthage aircraft carrier since they were my friends but then they friggin atomiced me.
