Skeleton restrictions

I have a question to moders working with character skeleton:

 

Is there a limit to number of additional bones added to, say skeleton_female.nif? Also, how Skyrim engine handles those additional bones, is there a performance or stability issues?

 

I was thinking, Skyrim does not have PhysiX support, but if there is no limit to skeleton manipulation, it's only matter of time and diligence to fill skeleton with bones and then animate cloth behavior.

 

Right?
