I'm looking to get started modding TES games, i have limited experience but am very motivated am currently working with 3ds max, nifskope, GIMP and blender. I'm also interested in tools and learning to script... would love feedback, tips, tricks, advice... G'day yall

ibleedmonster Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 @corpus vile, i need to learn all of them really, I need to learn the lore, see the visuals and get the feel for the setting. I have played skyrim some, the other two not so much. I'm a huge bethesda fan and am primarily gonna be focused on the havok engine. I will be moving out to fallout and etc at some point but thats further down the line. @fallenwarrior oh awesome.. yay! thats just the sort of thing im looking for! TYVM MY plan is to learn the creation of NPC's and static items then move on to world spaces and adventure modules. I plan on "hopefully" being able to release large content mods on par with actual DLC. It's a long road I know, but to qoute the S.A.S. "he who dares, wins" or was it "never try.. never fail" pop culture has rotted my brain
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 My advice: Play Fallout/Fallout2, note how a real RPG feels, put in the effort Bethesda is to inept to put in.
ibleedmonster Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 I come from infinity engine mods.. i know allllll about FO1 and 2, baulders gate 1 2 icewind dale.. lol each RPG and universe have thier own feel. my first CRPG was AD&D: secret of the silverblades.. believe it was a goldbox... huzzah! =)
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 HAD it's own feel, in Fallout's case, since Bethesda decided to rape the series. The irony is it wouldn't have been that hard for them to make it a lot better, as FONV shows.
