Blender scripts: Bone Weight Copy for Op Bones (custom made for BBB/BB conversions)

Scripts designed for Blender 2.49b

Tested and used with Room207's Portable Blender found here: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/42755

 

Has this been done before? I couldn't find anything like it. So, here it is.

 

Install:

Copy these scripts into your Blender scripts directory. They are named so they should not cause conflict with the original blender scripts.

 

I don't know python extensively. There were only a small number of lines that I added conditional statements into. This is an amateur effort so please test thoroughly before extensive use. If you have problems with these scripts, discontinue their use and please post in the comment section (or PM me on the forums). I don't know if I'll be able to fix the problem but I'll try to help. I will be continuing to fix and finish a project with these scripts and will update or take them down if unsolvable problems arise.

 

These scripts have been updated to affect the BBB vert groups only.

Why? 50+ meshes into a large BBB/BB conversion, I noticed that the original Blender Bone Weight Copy script _destroyed_ the careful and professional placement of the original non-bbb weights causing unsightly mesh deformations (a little over-dramatic maybe).

 

 

Oblivion BBB Bone Weight Copy - v0.3

This is not a performance improvement, only a quick fix of copying only vert groups that start with 'Bip01 Op'.

You should use this script to copy bbb weights from a bbb donor mesh to a non-bbb mesh without affecting the existing non-bbb weights.

 

 

Oblivion BBB Bone Weight Copy - Fix After - v0.3

This is not a performance improvement, only a quick fix of copying all vert groups that don't start with 'Bip01 Op'.

You should use this script to copy weights back from the original non-bbb mesh to restore the non-bbb weights without removing the existing bbb weights.
