For my birthday I got myself a gym membership and today is my first day at the gym. I just hope no one makes fun of me because I'm so small.

 

I decided to give boxing a try, I watch boxing on TV all the time. It couldn't be that difficult to learn. As soon as I walked into the gym I couldn't help but notice him. He was the most beautiful man I had ever seen. I could have stood there all day watching him, but that would have been too weird. 

 

 

When he got into the boxing ring, I stood there for a few minutes to watch. Wow, he had muscles everywhere. 

 

I had noticed the kid watching me and my buddy in the ring when we were boxing. Now I couldn't help but watch him as he tried so hard to hit the punching bag. It was kinda cute, like him.

 

 

My buddy wanted to work out a little more, so I went over to offer my help to the kid. 

Chris: "Hey Kid, do you mind if I give you a few pointers?"

Brendan: "Uhm sure, that would be great."  I couldn't believe this hot man was actually talking to me and wanted to give me pointers.

Chris: "I'm Chris by the way."

Brendan: "Nice to meet you, Chris I'm Brendan."

Chris: "Nice to meet you too Brendan. Okay, when you're boxing remember to breathe out when you punch and always look at your target when you punch. Don’t hold your breath and don’t look at the ground. That's it Brendan, great job." His face suddenly turned red as he blushed at my compliment. 

Brendan: "Thanks, your tips really helped." I could feel my face getting redder by the minute.

Chris: "You're even more cute when you blush."

Did he just tell me I was cute? Man, this is turning out to be the best birthday ever.

 

After getting changed I left the gym to go home. I was surprised to see Chris waiting outside. Was he waiting for me?

Chris: "Hey kid you need a ride home?"

Brendan: "Thanks for the offer Chris, I'm okay to take the bus home. I don't want you going out of your way for me."

Chris: "C'mon kid, I wouldn't have asked if I thought it would be out of my way. Plus we can get to know each other better."

Brendan: "That sounds great. Would appreciate a ride home." I can't believe he wants to get to know me better.

 

Chris: "So Brendan, what brought you to the gym today?"

Brendan: "It was kinda a birthday present to myself."

Chris: "When was your birthday?"

Brendan: "Well actually today is my twentieth birthday." I could feel my face getting red

Chris: "Happy Birthday kid, twenty is such a great age. There you go blushing again, you're so cute." I was old enough to be his father, was it wrong of me to want to ask him out on a date?

Brendan: "Thanks. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?"

Chris: "I'm an old man compared to you, I'm thirty-eight."

Brendan: "You look pretty amazing for thirty-eight. Plus that's not old at all, in my books anyways."

We continued getting to know each other on the drive to Willow Creek where I lived. Chris turned out to be a pretty awesome guy. 

 

Brendan: "Thanks for the ride home Chris, it's much appreciated.  Maybe we will see each other at the gym again, would love to get some more tips on how to box."

Chris: "Anytime kid, it was my pleasure. And yeah always up for giving some tips on boxing."

Brendan: "Have a great night Chris, and a safe drive home."

Chris: "Thanks kid." I cleared the lump in my throat. "Listen, my buddy and I had a reservation for dinner tonight but now he has a hot date with some chick and cancelled on me. Was wondering if you would like to join me for dinner, my treat. I hate eating alone, and having you join me would make my night so much better. Think of it as a dinner to celebrate your birthday."

Brendan: "Are you sure you want to have dinner with me and not one of your other buddies?" I held my breath waiting for him to answer.

Chris: "I asked you didn't I? Plus your way cuter than all my buddies put together. I'll pick you up at seven, wear a tie cutie."

Brendan: "Ok, see you at seven Chris." I was so happy I wanted to jump up and down, I couldn't believe he asked me out to dinner. OMG what am I going to wear?
