Nvidia Drivers and Blender

I'm having weird issues since last year, when I updated drivers for my old GT 740 and now with my 1060. Whenever I open Blender, Aero for Windows 7 gets disabled, and I see some stuttering while navigating and doing basic things in Blender like selecting and moving objects in the interface, Aero turns back on when closing Blender. Going back to the 368.81 drivers solves this for every Blender version, yet the last one (2.78) seems to work without disabling Aero.
Is there any way to solve this? The new 1060 doesn't support 368.81 drivers and obvioulsy using the newest version of Blender is neither possible due lack of nif scrips.
