Custom race won't change race

My custom race won't change race correctly. I downloaded New Companion Spell Polymorph Horse by darren83 and went off of alot of its scripts and structure to create a similar effect except; transforms target into a Fox and activated through dialogue. The issue is, it won't work on my custom race. I recruited a vanilla follower and one of mine; both spells work correctly on the vanilla one, but on my follower, they just cease to exist physically. The actor still functions and I can talk to them, but there is no model and I can't even target them with the console, it just goes through them. I set Breton for the morph & armor and added proxybretonrace to keywords. Any help?
