Further to this, I found that installing JContainers-49743-3-3-0-RC-1 as mentioned by Eskella fixed the problem for me. (1) No more log spam about can't parse JSON file. (2) SD+ can apply tats successfully. If I install the latest version of JContainers, I get the problems mentioned above. I also tried various other versions of JContainers. Some had the same problem, others caused highly alarming Papyrus stack dumps, but 3-3-0-RC-1 seems to be the go
