  1. Personally I feel the last greatest OS that microsoft put out was DOS 6.22 and everything pushed on us afterwards was buggy and bloated. I also resent that brick and mortar stores gave way to online downloads of software. The concept of quick updates online sounds great but the downfall of released garbage and first day bug fixes overshadows that. Generally, when you bought software from a store, it worked out of the box. Now the inability of even using software without being online regardless of the software is disgusting to me. Electronics now is based on obsolescence where investments are lost periodically. They could make backward compatibility possible but there isn't any money in doing so. It just tells me to avoid investing as much as possible. I'm hoping that someone is able to come up with a solution to operate steam offline on Windows 7.
  2. It weirds me out a little to see all the guys lined up as well. It's also annoying having that popup 'Do you want to turn XXXX into a milkmaid?' show up all the time whenever I'm close enough to the milk pumps. There are only so many slots and I'm particular as to whom I make a milkmaid.
  3. Greetings, You are having unique problems. There is indeed a location icon for the Milk Farm on the map as well as a directional indicator in game. You cannot fast travel from inside the Milk Farm as I've turned that feature off. You do not see any location icons on the map from inside the Milk Farm since that is another aspect to modding that I didn't delve into. It doesn't hurt anything and since there is no fast traveling, I didn't pursue the matter. Do you have any map mods? I installed one on Fallout 4 that I had to reinstall the game to get rid of. Maids, cows, followers.... anyone will use the milk pumps. I needed to make unique pumps with the sandbox ability turned on. If I just changed Ed86's milk pumps to sandboxing, you would have everyone lined up in all the towns to use them. Also the milk maid doesn't need to be in close proximity, they will travel to the pump to use it of their own choice. The biggest thing with the whole milk maid aspect is that Milk Farm needs to be place in the load order after all the MME mods and requirements since it draws from the MME assets. People also have had problems with MME because of incorrect installation and find the milk pumps do wonky things or nothing at all. Are you using the Hearthfire or non Hearthfire version? The only difference between the two is some items needed to be replaced in the non Hearthfire version. When I originally removed the Hearthfire dependency, it trashed all the MME assets. I have been assured that I have corrected that problem, although I do not play without the DLCs. I also do not play with the other cow/milk mods except for Elsie Lavache for MME and Ion. I do not know if BAC or the others will throw a wrench into the works. Hopefully this gives you some things to look into. Milk Farm is a simple esp file. The only change to any assets used is the milk pumps to turn the sandboxing flag on. I have wanted to come back to this and refine it but unfortunately my mother had a stroke last year and a second stroke about three months ago. My concerns are not with gaming at this time although I do scan these forums when I have some downtime.
  4. This advice is solid. Mod managers do not directly install mods into your game folder. It is easier to uninstall mods without hurting your base game. You are going to have to be patient with incompatibilities and script overloads, e.t.c. Only install one or two mods at a time and check them out for function in game. It will probably take a few attempts to get things the way you want and you will have to make compromises between what you want and what your computer is able to run. I don't think anyone gets it right the first time. As you continue to mod your game, you will gain knowledge. Eventually you will get to the point where you know what to look for in a mod, whether it will work for you or not. Before choosing a mod to try out, read the support thread to see if people are having issues or if the last post was six years ago and the mod is decrepit to the point that no one uses it. Eventually you will know enough to be able to change mods to suit your purposes. A good example of that would be changing body type between unp and cbbe which is actually pretty simple when you know where to look and what you are looking at. It can be frustrating but in the end, very rewarding. You just have to be patient. If you get stumped, you can always start a thread asking for specific help. Describe what you are seeing and what you expected to see. (I need help with XXXX. It is doing YYYY while I expected it to do ZZZZ.) Best of luck.
  5. I don't even use Dread Prison. All of those mods (except for Hearthfire Dungeon Addon) don't do it for me so I am creating my own Nord bdsm prison/interrogation dungeon. It will follow the general guidelines of a dungeon mod that I have already published here on Lover's Lab. With over 2,000 downloads and no dissatisfaction reported, I think I am on the right track. My comment 'probably' makes sense to the general populace (I claim nothing on behalf of others). My interaction/information can be used on any mod. It was intended for anyone to make use of. I see now that my mistake was responding to your comment. I will not derail this thread any longer. Addendum: While I think weed is great, it can cause psychosis in certain individuals.
  6. My apologies since I have offended you in some way. I viewed your post in the spirit that it was offered. I did not intend to be condescending or harmful in any way. I too use and enjoy The Hearthfire Dungeon addon. I too have absolutely no problem with the mod. It will always be in my load order. But I have also tried the other mods you had mentioned (... you know ... '' evil lair '' ... '' vampire slave Den '' ...). I found those mods unusable because they tried to do too much. I was offering an easy solution to try to manage other mods that you may be interested in but find unstable. I did not take into consideration any prowess on your part. Hopefully others may gain insight from my posts although I do not address them directly. That was my intent. Attacking me because of your misunderstanding has now made me uneasy to offer any help or advice towards others. If you would like to see my true character, follow some of my forum posts. I have no interest in attacking you or anyone else for world views or individual desires. Having said that, I do have a distaste for abusive people. Cordially, Geoff
  7. Most of those mods do too much. It may run well on their computer but not on yours which has a different mod load. I find it is mainly script overload that drops your fps down to 1 frame every 4 seconds and CTDs. Other mods do not use occlusion planes or bounding boxes to separate areas of intense object placement. Effects like mist and particles when overdone bogs down your frame rate. Those are usually the main reasons why they CTD or bog down to 0 frames per second. When you do have a mod you like but it seems a little buggy, try going into the area, get into the console command screen and click on things like mist and type in disable This will make the object invisible. You can see if you picked the wrong object. If it is the wrong object, type in enable This will restore the object. If you did pick the right object, type in markfordelete disable This will remove the object from the esp. Doing this to enough objects will improve your fps and may lessen CTDs. If you mess up anywhere, you can just copy the original esp back into your data folder. Everything is restored. Do not try to remove anything you suspect may have a script attached to it because that, through dependency, may cause the mod to CTD. If you are brave, you can go into the Creation Kit and delete things through there. It only affects the esp. If you screw up, restore the original esp and you are right back to square one. This may allow you to lessen the issues in a mod that you like.
  8. I've delved into the C.K. and find it a miserable creature. It is really strange that Bethesda has created something that has great potential but at the same time their own programmers have issues getting it to work correctly. I would like to do more with Skyrim but I'm not sure I can handle the mental gymnastics. Kudos to you and everyone else for sharing hard gained information.
  9. I get the same thing but it doesn't present a problem. The mod continues on just fine even with this discrepancy.
  10. I stopped trying to use shadow casting light sources on anything placed above the actors head since the shadow would be drawn around the feet. Placing these light sources only in fire pits or anything mounted on the ground gives you those lovely long shadows desired for atmospheric effects. Shadow casting light sources should be used very sparingly not only because of the limitations on quantity (4) but also because of the fps hit. You may try replacing them with flickering light sources to give effects without taking the hit of generating shadows. Shadows are very fps intensive. Reviewing your screen shots, I do not see any shadow casting light sources. You may also try occlusion planes in the walls, ceilings, or floors to cut down any unnecessary rendering. Edit: I loaded up your mod in the CK. It does have too many shadow casting light sources. You really could use some occlusion planes. It's pretty intense for such a small area. I can see why it would bog down for some people. Hell, it bogs down for me just loading it into the CK!
  11. If there are more than four shadow casting light sources in view of each other, they will start alternating which are active. I don't know if this is the case with this mod but it is something I have found while modeling world spaces.
  12. An older version before the expansion works just fine. I still find the area it adds beneficial as a holding area for npcs until they come into play. I've known of the incompatibility now for awhile. Should I have spoken up before since it seems that no one was aware of it?
  13. Those last four pictures is what I got from upgrading to the latest pahe lives on 7.5.1 with the pahe_lakeview_manor_cell.esp file. It doesn't take into account this mod (Hearthfire Dungeon Addon). The entrance to this mod was completely missing. I downgraded the pahe_lakeview_manor_cell.esp to an earlier version before the massive expansion and everything worked fine again. The latest rendition of the lakeview manor cell adds huge empty spaces but isn't worth giving up this mod for so I'm using the pahe_lakeview_manor_cell.esp from pahe lives on 7.4.7.
  14. I am told that it works without a problem for SE although I'm not running SE myself so I cannot confirm. Milk Farm is just an .esp file. Give it a try. The worse that can happen is it doesn't work and you delete the .esp from your load order. Then come back here and tell us if it does indeed work or not. Feedback is appreciated.
  15. i use milk mod economy, I kinda like the have to stop and unload every so often

While it is a big place, I do find the scripts involved using so many maids does cause the game to crash when entering the cell from time to time when it loads in the NPCs. I just restart the game and continue on. I do want to rearrange the entrance and put in an occlusion plane to try to remedy this.

Otherwise, it is a nice place to stack followers. I hope you enjoy my contribution.
