Yeah that's why I am curious about. It seems nobody is going to do the HDT mod for SE.

HDT SMP is what SE has. PE couldn't be ported because the application that was used for it is no longer free.

HDT SMP works well for most things, but the chains have a limitation that PE didn't have. So we have converted them as well as as we could. But until someone rebuilds the meshes so they don't encounter the limitation, or until the limitation is removed or fixed in SMP, what we have is about as good as we can get. Keep in mind, those of us who ported the mod are NOT experienced modders - we're stubborn users who did a lot of googling and learning to make the fixes we could so we could keep using these mods in SE.

The mentality is 'Can we make it work?' rather than 'Is it perfect?' And it is 'working' now.

If you want perfect, you'll probably see ES 6 come out first.

In simple way answer is: all devices from DDX will be deleted or moved to DDA.

It's support now only time while mod authors rework DDX used restraints to DDA.

If mod is abandoned it will stop working if call device from DDX.

It's simply as i see situation.

Items aren't going to be deleted. How the items are selected is changing.

But yes, that change has the potential to break old unsupported mods once the feature is removed.

For DD 5, it's just marked as 'deprecated - don't use'. It's still there for now so nothing 'should' break on this version.

my mod manager is telling me that there is a script extender plug in error. to be more specific  :-

DeviousDevice.dll (00000001 DDiUtil 00000001) is reported as incompatible during query

error report attached

I am using the current script extender which i believe is Current SE Build 2.0.19 (runtime 1.5.97)

im not sure what this is but im guessing it means Devious devices is not going to work if anyone can help or explain more detail what this means that would be very helpfull thank you

The DD DLL for 2.0.17 works just fine with 2.0.19.

Reinstall the DD AIO installer and select 'none' for the DLL.

I have a problem with the animations...(when you struggle, and  with the armbinder) they dont work, I still keep my arms at the side (without hands), and stays still when I try to struggle

You ran FNIS right?

If you have FNIS Sexy Move, you might need to reset player animations.

If you don't have FNIS Sexy Move or something else changing player idles then it could be script lag. There's not much that can be done for that other than removing script heavy mods.

How can I fix clipping issues with the iron chain  harness? I have already built the morph in bodyslide again and again but somehow this still occurs.

For what body?

If you look at the chain harness in bodyslide, does it show your preset?

I use CBBE HDT SMP CBPC. But I don't understand what do u mean by looking at the chain harness in body slide, how can I see the body associated with the outfit?

Just to confirm, you're using CBBE SE? Not a conversion of the LE CBBE? Or a newer body like 3BBB?

Assuming you're using just CBBE SE, you probably need these:

Presets missing in BodySlide for CBBE SE == https://www.loverslab.com/topic/99700-devious-devices-se-43/?do=findComment&comment=2860643

In progress DD CBBE SE conversion (attempting to complete the CBBE SE coversion(s)): https://mega.nz/file/OvhXVYZb#vnEPbBHMT-FLPSpFlXhoJYE5YX6eXEo7dbd9hM895fs

I mean look at the preset. If you don't have a body preset listed when showing the outfit, it won't know how to conform the sliders when you batch build.

Sorry if I may ask, but what does this CBBE SE that is 500 mb do? I mean I already have CBBE and bodyslide installed, then what is this for? And plus I did a check, and only the chain harness does not have a preset attached, the link you provided is for other devices and the author says it might break the game.

Yes, I appreciate you guys work! I thought there is no HDT version and that's why I said that. Seems it will never perfect until other modders who made the SE's HDT SMP work as same as the original skyrim's.

It converts some of the original bodyslides that were not converted to the CBBE SE body and fixes some of the others. It won't help you if you are using the LE version of CBBE because the two CBBE bodies are different. That's why I was asking where you got your CBBE from. The presets link fixes the slidergroups so that the presets will show up for DD items.

The original modder, hydrogensayshdt is no longer working on HDT. Aers has taken it up now that hydrogensayshdt has released the source code.

So if you get HDT SMP from the Nexus, that's where it's being maintained now. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/30872

There's a patch for the gloves specifically, and the other HDT fixes we have are in DCL-DD-ZaZ HDT-SMP and other patches. The stuff in the patches should also be included in the AIO, but I pulled everything out separately so I knew what we were working on, and it helps some people to install them again to fix some stuff.

This is my first time modding skyrim. When I try to load into a save or make a new game the game crashes. I saw an old forum post saying you have to use the command console to load directly into the game, and then load the save (the command they said was COC whiterun). I tried that and the game crashed again.

You can increase your animation number DRASTICALLY with these tools:
Animation Limit Crash Fix (Skyrim SE and LE), SSE Engine Fixes (Skyrim SE only)
Since FNIS cannot know if such mod is installed, it will still warn you at the original limit.
But when such tool is used, load calculation can be switched off (FNIS.ini: "LoadCTDCalculation=0")
 1 Warning(s).

I do have animation limit crash fix installed, I just never went to the load calculation to turn off that warning.

I've also attached my modlist and loadorder files from mod organizer 2.

Thanks in advance for the help :)

So what the animation count fix does is allow you to load more animations. It does not mean your PC can *handle* more animations. If you have a lot of mods, that also factors into how many animations can be handled. Also, if you have animation limit crash fix and sse engine fixes, you need to either get rid of the animation crash fix, or disable the animation fix in sse engine fixes (you change the setting in the ini for that mod). You can't use both at the same time.

I would try starting with disabling a SLAL pack or two and see if you can load your save. FWIW, the Leito animations haven't been updated in a while, and some of them look dated. I'd start with getting rid of them and the poser animations. Even with a new hefty gaming PC, I find that staying under 100% for the CTD number is the best way to stabilize the game.

I disabled both SLAL packs, as well as "FlowerGirls SE", which according to my file search had the Leito animations you mentioned, but the game still crashes when I load a game file.

Is there any chance that the device hider confuses the WornHasKeyword  function?

I'm running Devious Followers.   It has various deals that the character can make.  My character has a deal active that requires her to wear an anal plug.   DF has a dialogue topic with a bunch of conditions anded together to check whether or not the character is in violation of the deal.  One condition is using WornHasKeyword(zad_DeviousPlugAnal).

I can run for several in-game hours just fine, but then I start getting inappropriate activations on that dialogue topic.

I have a bunch of things hidden in the device hider.  I have "Bandolier - Bags and Pouches".   I use a lot of the bags from that mod and use the device hider to hide them for aesthetic reasons.   One of the slots hidden is slot 48 which is what the plugs use.  (Not that the inventory versions of armor records have slots.  Not sure how that works, but it must be some interesting voodoo...)

It's hard to imagine, but is there much of a chance that hiding a bunch of slots will somehow cause the device hider to intermittently give incorrect results from WornHasKeyword()?

I disabled both SLAL packs, as well as "FlowerGirls SE", which according to my file search had the Leito animations you mentioned, but the game still crashes when I load a game file.

DD has a lot of animations itself so that could have been a tipping point.

Is .net script framework generating a crash log?

It might be too soon, but good to check for anyway.

Don't use sexlab framework and sexlab framework light. pick one. And if the middle one is LE, get rid of it. Current SexLab full is 1.63 beta 8

+SexLab_Light_SE__

+SexLabFramework_v

+SexLabFrameworkSE_v

Try getting rid of DAR as well.

Edit: Alternately, start up a new profile with just DD and it's requirements and start a new game. if that works, keep adding mods a few at a time until you find where you CTD again. Work backwards from that point to find out what's causing the crash.

Device hider isn't something i've used. I wouldn't think that hiding the slot would change if it's worn, because all that does is change the visibility.

As a check, if you've got the plug in, can you equip something else to that slot while it's hidden? If it's working appropriately, it shouldn't let you, which should mean the worn keyword is working.

@Elsidia do you have an idea here?

No i don't have idea. I just test how it works.

WornHasKeyword()?

I test in game devious hider 48 slot and console me return that i'm wear a plug by using wornhaskeyword.

I can only guess - maybe devious followers use other conditions to check plugs. - maybe if devious hider use 48 slot, wornhaskeyword returns correct value but followers use other conditions as slot 48 check and in this slot is devious hider? Can you share script name where is this check? I check it how it looks and maybe see there something more?

Actually, to my surprise, DF doesn't use a script.   It has a dialog topic with a handful of conditions anded together.  One of those conditions makes use of HasWornKeyword().

Some testing:

I often use SkyUI's quick menu to reequip  my usual items.   I see that if I go through the list somewhat quickly, that sometimes an item that should have been blocked is not blocked.   In this case, I can equip a satchel into slot 48 even though the anal plug is already equipped (DDx form 01491F aka zadx_plugShockSoulgemAn_scriptInstance).   Three different tools all have different readouts as far as what is actually equipped:

  • My inventory shows both the plug and the satchel as equipped.
    • I'm using SkyUI AIO Survival (SAS) for my inventory and, as usual it claims the plug isn't using a slot but is still equipped.  SAS inventory also shows the satchel as equipped and shows it as using slot 48.   I don't normally have the plug favorited, but when I did favorite it, the SkyUI quick menu also showed both the plug and the satchel as equipped.
  • The console shows just the plug equipped.
    • In the console, when targeting the PC, More Informative Console shows the plug in the equipment window for slot 48 and doesn't mention the satchel.
  • An MCM utility shows neither as equipped!
    • In the MCM, the Body Slots MCM shows neither the plug nor the satchel as equipped.  Neither shows up in either the "by armor" page nor the "by slot" page.

I'm not sure how to invoke WornHasKeyword() from the console?   My console doesn't recognize player.WornHasKeyword as a valid command.

At any rate, sometimes blocking fails.  I'll try to add some debugging to the DD scripts, but I don't know a whole lot about the engine, so I'm not hopeful that I'll figure out why the mutex stuff and the events aren't working as expected.

P.S.

I doubt I would have noticed this issue if DF hadn't been checking for and complaining about device removal.

Update:

I don't think I can debug this.   It seems to need someone with more familiarity with the code.   Looking through the code, I can't find the code that handles attempts to equip blocked items.   The closest I come is finding that zadDevicesUnderneathPlayerScript.psc has an OnObjectEquipped event handler.   That handler detects the attempt to equip the satchel.   However, I don't see anything in that handler or in anything that it calls that would unequip the blocked satchel.   Yet, the satchel (correctly) does not get actually equipped.   Nor do I see any other handler that's making that happen.   If I can't find it, I can't debug why it sometimes doesn't fire.

Ok, from this bit, I would guess a lag issue. At this point, I'd just ignore it and once DD 5.0 is released and we get it converted, retest again.

There were internal changes that make device removal and swapping more reliable and much faster.

You'd need a new game to test it though.

Hello. In the MCM menu, I see only one Devious Devices mod - Assets. And I don't see the menu for the Devious Devices - Integration and Expansion mods. It is not right? In older versions, three menus were registered. And how can you do Russian localization? Thanks.

There is only one MCM menu, and it doesn't say DDa, DDi or DDx - just devious devices. It is included with DDi. All three mods are tightly integrated and the single MCM is expected, it has been this way in LE as well for a while.

There are no translation files for DD included. I don't know how hard it would be to translate the mod, but you would also need to gather several soft dependencies to recompile the scripts after translating the dialog texts, so it would not be simple task. If you want to try, I used this mod or something similar to go from russian to english one time: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/134
