dd crashes when I try to put iron chains on any male character using the 3bbb preset, what is the problem?

3bbb does not apply to males, only females. sos or sam would be for males.

are you able to equip the iron chains on females?

If it's only males, do you have a mod that overwrites the male skeleton from xp32? (nothing should)

is the male part of a custom race (you might need to copy the xp32 skeleton over to that race)

if you can't equip the chains on males or females then work through the rest of that post yojimbo mentioned. If it's only males or a custom race, it's more likely to be a skeleton issue i think.

Thanks alot, after doing the checks step by step I noticed the bodyslide's skyrim se location folder was the directory folder instead of the data folder causing it to install in the wrong location. Its working now.

MFG Fix dll says it isnt compatible with the skse version. Is that an issue?

It is compatible, but it requires address library now. Have you installed that? If not, install the all in one address library file.

From the top sticky:
Version 1.5.1 and higher requires Address Library for work.

Yup, its working fine now.

Question, in Chloe's quest there is a task to find the package off a imperial guard. After teleporting behind the debris in the keep I went all the way to the end. No bodies were on my route, checked the whole area 4 times. Am I missing something or the bodies didn't spawn?

Can I skip this by spawning the item on the body, if yes what is the item?

There should have been 2 dead imperials in the spider cave, one had a note. you need to read the note to progress.

If you don't see any bodies, you either took too long to start or progress the quest or a dead body cleaner removed the bodies. Elsidia has seen were the bodies have spawned well outside of Helgen ( in whiterun iirc). Either way, if the bodies aren't with the spiders, your options are to reload from a save around the time you first found Chloe and unlocked her, or to console the note into your inventory. I don't recommend using console commands to complete any  quests - you should see if reloading a save will resolve it first. My luck seems to be better than Elsidia's here. I've never needed a console command for the Chloe quest.

If you do need the console command, check the spoiler in Elsidia's comment in the DCL thread.

It can't be uploaded to LL because the file is too large.

If you downloaded the integration and expansion, you downloaded the LE versions and should get rid of them.

The SE version is a single file that contains a conversion of the 3 LE downloads. It's an AIO installer so only the one download is needed.

If you're having trouble with mega, try another browser, clear your cache, disable all your browser addons.

Thanks I will give it a try. As for what I downloaded - I just followed the links! I will take another shot and see what happens.

Hello I'm wondering if someone can help me with a problem. I get no sound from any heels (boots/pony/slave etc) equipped by DE,DFC or DCL I have checked my load in SSEEdit and nothing is overwriting the SSND Footstep sound in the armor addon or any of the IP/IPDS/SD/SM values. The .wav's all seem to be installed correctly in data\sound\fx\DeviousDevices\Expansion. Vanilla heels using HeelsSound work fine with the fx. Thanks in advance for any help.

Edit, there is sound but its really really quite, if I turn all other sliders down except effects i can hear the steps. I have tried reducing the static attenuation and db variance under sound descriptor but i cannot notice any ingame difference.

BACKGROUND

Forbidden knowledge is usually forbidden for a reason...but that wouldn't stop a brave, and might I add, beautiful, adventurer like yourself, would it? What is it that you seek, then? Daedra summoning rituals, maybe? Dark magic to siphon the very souls from your enemies? Lost Dwemer artifacts, one of those gargantuan machines of theirs, perhaps? The most secret of histories from Tamriel's past? Sheogorath's favorite sweet roll recipe?

No? None of that, you say? You want something even more...devious than all of that, do you? Aren't we the adventurous sort? Your sheer bravery must match your most lovely countenance, then. Well, my girl, allow me to share with you a rumor that I heard about a week ago down in Riften at the tavern. There was a young mage apprentice there, looking for some moldy old tome or another, as mages are so fond of doing, who happened to enjoy her wine a bit too much. Thank you for the drink by the way; you're looking better by the minute, my dear.

She was quite the trollop as I was told, going from one patron to the next, man, woman, even lizard if you can believe that. Well, she wasn't shy with her body, nor was she shy with her secrets. She let slip a juicy bit of information about her college back in Winterhold, about the library there. See, there's a bookshelf there that nobody is allowed to open, a shelf filled with the most devious of knowledge one could imagine. The old Orc librarian nearly threw her out of the school for trying to peek inside, she said! Why, what devious knowledge could be found inside there, I wonder? It must be something if they threatened expulsion for just trying to look inside.

Oh, no my dear, no more drink for me, I'm afraid. I must be off, lots of old, filthy dwemer ruins to delve and all that. Hmm? No, no, I'm not going alone, of course not, that would just be silly. My traveling partner is tied up around here somewhere. You would make quite the lovely specimen, though, er, companion, yes, companion! Why don't you be a good girl and head on up to the College in Winterhold, then, and take a look at that forbidden bookshelf for yourself, hmm? I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for there...and just forget all about me while you enjoy that last drink. I'm sure we'll meet again, my sweet, and then perhaps you'll be...better equipped for what I have in mind.

FEATURES

Devious Devices is a collection of restraining devices and toys to torment your Dragonborn, including, but not limited to: chastity belts, collars, cuffs, vibrators, gags, armbinders, yokes, slave harnesses, straitjackets and even hobble skirts! And don't worry about wiggling out of them: All devices lock in place, and only the correct key can open the locks! And these devices don't just look restrictive, they ARE! These shackles really lock your hands on your back and make you unable to fight. Running in leg irons? No way! And yes, wearing a gag will make you speak gibberish!

  • Escape system: Nobody likes to be tied up. At least not against their will! Try to escape your bindings by attempting to struggle out from them, cut them, or pick the locks! You might succeed! Or you will just tighten your restraints, or break your lockpicks. If you are really unlucky, you will jam the lock and be unable to unlock yourself even if you have the key, unless you manage to repair the lock.
  • Framework: Want to create your own bondage mod? Kinky quests? Custom restraints? DD is providing all needed functionality for that, so you don't have to! Want to create custom bondage items? Just make your item use the DD scripts and customize dozens of properties to your taste and create your own toys without writing one line of code! Items with custom keys? No problem! Multiple locks? For sure! Timed locks? You bet! Cuttable material? Yep, got that, too! Impossible to struggle out from? Check! Items that cannot be removed as long as another is locked on? Yes, even that! And if all of that isn't enough, override the item behavior with a custom script. If you think it can't be done, think again!
  • Devious Effects: Unique and devious effects to tantalize, titillate, and torment the Dragonborn and her companions! Whether it's inflatable, vibrating, or simply impossible to remove, you'll find something different with each item! All plugs increase stimulation, and do so at different rates based on what you do; sitting down or riding a horse is much more intense than just walking around! The inflatable plugs can be squeezed manually for more stimulation, or by accident as you travel around Skyrim! Want something more intense? Try the vibrating soulgem plugs! Some are activated by magic, others will have a mind of their own and activate randomly or after building up for a good strong burst of vibrations. But watch out, there are some plugs out there that are much more devious: the victim will be driven to the edge by these relentless plugs, but never allowed sweet release...
  • Full NPC Support: All devious devices are capable of being worn by NPCs, and most devious effects will function on them as well! Show your companion who's in charge, or teach that annoying bitch in the shop a lesson!
  • Intuitive Interfaces: No need to use spells, shouts, or other quirky methods to enjoy these devices! Just click them in your inventory and choose what you want to do with them via the easy to use interaction menu!
  • Sexlab Support: While in a chastity belt, the Dragonborn's (or any NPC's) most intimate of intimates will be off limits! The actors will be unable to use any sex scenes involving the "Vaginal", "Anal", "Masturbation", or "Fisting" tags. In most cases, the scene will be replaced by a chastity-friendly scene, including Oral, Blowjobs, Handjobs, Boobjobs, and whatever else may be available. While wearing gags, the Oral animations will be off limits as well, unless it happens to be a ring gag.
  • Sexlab Aroused Support: Being locked away in cold steel may not seem so bad at first, but the longer the Dragonborn is locked away, the more she'll crave that sweet release! Animations, on-screen messages, and even sounds will change depending upon arousal level; same with NPCs!

COMPATIBILITY AND CONFLICTS

General remark: The point of this mod is locking the player in restraints hard to remove. This feature might cause issues with other mods not expecting the character to wear unremovable items. Known issues will be listed in this section. Feel free to report incompatibilities in the support thread.

  • Frostfall: While wearing restraints the player might be unable to keep herself warm.
  • Player Succubus Quest: Transformation will wipe restraints from your character, so this function is generally incompatible with DD. Disable Transformation if you want to use this mod with and DD mod.
  • Trapped in Rubber: is using custom restraints not compatible with DD in general. Solution: Make sure you're not wearing any DD items before you start the quest and suspend any mod that might equip DD items on you while playing TiR.
  • SPERG: Works fine, but set Hand to Hand combat to "Manual" in its MCM to avoid annoying clicking sounds when wearing wrist restraints.
  • Play Random Idle - can break custom idles used by our restraints.

REQUIREMENTS

  • SKSE64
  • SexLab SE 1.63+
  • SexLab Aroused Redux SE
  • FNIS SE
  • Racemenu
  • XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended
  • Bodyslide and Outfit Studio

INSTALLATION

1. Install ALL requirements listed above using your favorite mod manager, including THEIR respective requirements.
2. Install ALL three mods from this download.
3. Run FNIS when done

4. Run Bodyslide to batch build the assets. Half of all user support requests root in them not running Bodyslide and batch building the devices. RUN BODYSLIDE!!!!
5. Start up Skyrim, and either create a New Game, or load your Save.
6. Save the game, and then load the save you just created (DD will not register Animations / Events until you load a save after it has been installed).

IF YOUR DEVICES ARE INVISIBLE IN GAME, YOU FORGOT TO RUN BODYSLIDE AND BATCH BUILD THE DEVICES!!!

KNOWN ISSUES

  • The 'equipped' indicator for the belt may not update immediately following player interaction. This can be solved easily by closing and reopening the inventory or selecting another item (It is simply a display quirk).
  • Attempting to interact with a specific device while having multiple instances of it in your inventory is ill-advised, due to a limitation with Skyrim. Doing so will unpredictably cause Skyrim to not send the Papyrus events that the devices require to function (OnUnequipped / OnEquipped), leading to a device visually being equipped, despite being unequipped in your inventory. If you encounter this issue, remove all but one copy of the problem-device from your inventory, then re-equip said device.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How to best report any issues with Devious Devices?
A: Post your issue in the support thread and describe what happened, and how. In enough detail that we might have a chance to understand what went wrong there. Oh, and post a Papyrus log if you can. While we might be able to guess the cause of your problem every now and then, chances are that we will never find out what went wrong unless you provide me with the log. DO NOT PM THE DD TEAM WITH SUPPORT REQUESTS!!!

Q: I have this and that problem with an older version of Devious Devices.
A: Please don't ask about older versions. Ever. We release patches for a reason. Use them! Some of them even might have fixed the exact bug you're reporting to occur in your ancient version of this mod. Only the newest version is supported at any time. Don't post any questions in the support thread unless you're running the -newest- version of this mod AND all of its requirements.

Q: I have a support question and wonder if I should PM it to you.
A: Please, PLEASE do NOT use PMs for support issues and bug reports. We might/will ignore them and delete them without responding to them! Support requests belong in the support thread and nowhere else, so other people having the same issue can see the reply as well, or even help each other, so I don't have to answer ALL questions people might have.

Q: Can I suggest new features?
A: Absolutely! We have implemented a lot of user-suggested features and will continue doing so. But please understand that we cannot implement them all and that some others we really just won't like enough.

Q: Will this mod ever support male player characters?
A: Not officially. There are conversions for male characters available on LoversLab. YMMV.

Q: Why are the bundled items changing my body when equipped? Why are some items invisible? Why is everything so messed up???
A: Use Bodyslide, Luke! It's listed in the requirements for a reason. You need to actually build the assets with Bodyslide!

Q: Is this mod compatible with <obscure mod you found in a remote corner of the internet and nobody else but you ever seems to use>?
A: Ummm...I dunno.. You tell me! We list all known incompatibilities in this ReadMe, but there are really a lot of mods out there, and we can't possibly test them all.

Q: Why don't you add <items from this and that other restraint mod available on LL> to DD's item library?
A: If the other mod has been out on LL for more than a couple months and we haven't added the items, chances are that we don't like them enough and/or their creators didn't give permission.

Q: Can I translate your mod?
A: Yes. But please re-post only the files needed for the actual translation, as a patch with a link to the offical mod! Do NOT re-distribute the entire mod. If you want to post the translated files outsides of LL, please ask for permission first.

Q: I found this awesome model that would be a perfect fit for a DD item. Will you include it?
A: We will not put in anything in DD that doesn't support both CBBE Bodyslide and UUNP. The model AND the sliders obviously also need to come with permissions to freely include and distribute it in 3rd party mods. If it does, feel free to suggest it!

Q: Where can I get the items in game?
A: DD itself won't equip anything on you. It is a library of bondage items and mechanics related to them. You will need mods actually using the framework, such as Captured Dreams, Shout Like a Virgin, or Deviously Cursed Loot.

Q: Will this mod ever support another body than CBBE Bodyslide or UUNP?
A: That's very extremely unlikely. Unless another body completely takes over the market in the future, we will not even think about it. CBBE and UUNP are good enough and support pretty much any imaginable body shape through Bodyslide. There is zero reason for more body mods, really.

Q: I unequipped an item, but it's still visually on my character!
A: See the "Known Issues" section.

Will their be an Update for the actual SSE Version?

Use an audio editor to bring up levels of the wave files.

The SE version is converted from LE, the versions are the same. Kimy hasn't updated the DD download page text, but the download itself is currently DD 4.3. If you want to look at the changelogs, you can look at the LE download page.

DD 5.0 is currently in beta, when that version is officially released we will convert the new version and give it to Kimy to update the download page with.

This isn't something anyone else has complained about. In addition to what T-lam mentioned, do you have racemenu high heels or lazy tools? you might need something like that for all the heel effects to work.

Otherwise, read through vyxenne's posts here and try these heel sounds?

Hi folks,

Some mod (maybe could be this one or any of it's dependable mods) distributing DD items (mostly collars) to all actors in my game and it is driving me mad. First of all it is not really immersive when Ulfric or the Archmage in Winterhold has a slave collar, secondly it can break my game if everybody wear DD items. Can somebody help me to find out which mod is doing this, please?

I am still struggling to find out what is distributing DD to npcs, I am bit worried as too many devices can cause problems. Halp please? :)

DD is a framework, it does nothing on it's own. You'd need something like DCL or DD for the masses to add devices to NPCs.

How about posting your load order? There's a lot of mods that use DD, without knowing what you've got, it's all just a guessing game.

Thanks guys for Ideas, I had already checked if there was a difference in volume between the zad.wav and Angelheels.wav (from heel sound) and the output seemed roughly the same to me which is why I figure something else must be affecting the volume in game. As @zarantha said I had done a search through both the SE and LE support to see if anyone had this problem before and saw no mention of it so it must be something peculiar to my setup. Im using your idea of changing the SNDD to heels sound and noticed that the HR slave uses vanilla footsteps sound and also the coloured catsuit boots are using FTSBarefootsteps as no one else has reported this before im guessing my install may be squiffy.

It's need for DD or it's conflict with DD?

Not required, but might fix some heels sinking into the ground. I don't recall if pfiffy fixed all of those. Since the heels sound is linked to several heels settings, it's possible this might help with the low sound. I haven't encountered that, I usually think the steps sounds are too loud, but didn't care enough to try tracking it down.

Racemenu heels does not conflict. It's the replacement for the old HDT Heels mod from hydrogansays, so it's complementary to HDT SMP and Racemenu.

Lazy Tools is also an option because you can set the offset in game without touching the meshes if you do see a problem.

Alright, it's a few days now i try to solve the issues. I played SSE for sometime now and most of the mods i enjoyed, even those that weren't ported from Oldrim so SSE worked just fine with minor tweaks, like my temptress race.

However ass soon as i tried to play mods that were requiring DD it was starting to be a mess. First attempt with Angrim Apprentice and after Vortex insulted me a few time i just removed both and played mods that weren't requiring DD ...

Now i want to try Sanguines debauchery and once again DD is required like for many mods and it makes them simple UNPLAYABLE on SSE. It was hard to figure what was going wrong really but with SD+ at least i had a hint. First when i'm enslaved cuffs are added to my character before being taken away the following second, meaning i guess they weren't locked and the game removed them with the rest of the inventory. And then from time to time i get this messageIA9eM3A.jpg

that clearly means that mods related to DD will just not work on my current config cause well, i don't know?

So yeah i installed it a few time, cause the select version as "none" of course got me, as i took the last version available, like almost anybody i guess? So i reinstalled with it correctly. I ran Fnis. I installed  SSE Engine Fixes which is a pain to install too, cause you have a vortex installer version but in fact noooo it's manual install only ...

So it's checked too but in the end i simply continue to have this error.

Sexlabs works perfectly, SL aroused too, scent of sex works fine too, same for SoS, in fact every mod on my Skyrim works just perfectly except all those that are bound to devious device.

So i'd really wish to know what is the issue, apparently there are quite a lot of issues with this SE version from browsing this topic but i can't find any answer to the issue (except "wait for next version that isn't for tomorrow"). So is there a way to really make it work? Or someone should edit this thread https://www.loverslab.com/topic/94228-sse-conversion-tracking-oct-4-5756/ to remove the compatibility status for DD and all the mods requiring it. Cause i'm really bored to go there, see a mod tagged green and in the end that won't work cause requiring DD that is not working on SSE at all. (Something that won't load anymode correctly and bring fatal errors is not working in my standards)

Just installed this, all works well except for the fact that bound animations don't work, for some odd reason, if the character has her arms bound behind me, no animations will play, NPC's will reset on my location and then just walk away. Not really sure what I did wrong, suggestions?

At first i don't understand any of your words in thread. Because i say: you don't need convert DD to SSE because on first page of this thread is SSE converted fully worked. DD 4.3a AIO (all in one) installer. You don't need load DDA, DDI, DDX from LE section and convert through CAO. Also even if you do it: DDI will not work because in converted version of DD is reworked scripts for SSE and ddl is converted to SSE version what CAO never do.

PS: For me DD works by simply install in Vortex from this thread download with first try in SSE.

Oh yes you are right, it do not works cause i'm too stupid to install SSE version that are on this thread but used the oldrim ones ...

Come on ... What i mean is currently all my mods works perfectly even some that i ported myself. All except SSE version of Devious Device. But if it works for you then i guess it's fine, too bad for those that are not so lucky.

And i guess the conversion track thread is wrong too when they say

"?Notes for Devious Devices SE:

Devious Devices is a bit tricky to work with. Make sure you have:
-  SSE Engine Fixes installed and up to date
- The correct DLL for your version of SKSE; for 2.0.17-19, choose the None option in the installer
- controller CTD fix by Boulo_92 if you need that
- DDHOTFIX if you don't use HDT-SMP or have CTD problems
- The latest CBBE BodySlide files if you want to rebuild with those"

Because apparently it works so well that you have it work out of the box on vortex, not even needing all of this or to run Fnis ... >.<

Be serious, this mod is a nightmare to install, i remember it was already a mess in 2012 on Skyrim LE and it's even worst now, things go out of control without even knowing why, and uninstalling it completely before reinstalling leads nowhere as it seem it leaves files somewhere to corrupt the new fresh install. Feels like the driver issue on windows 98 when you had to format your drive if you installed a wrong driver cause you could never remove it ...

That's nice they made a all in one pack, that's one step to make it easier to use, but sadly most of the issues remains. And as we are talking about how it works or not. You have lot of tricky choices in the installer. Like offering to installe CBBE, CBBE SE or UNP for the bodies. As we are on SSE only CBBE SE will work right? Why offer a choice like this then? Are there more traps in this installer? At this point i'm really wondering what is going wrong on the process.

There are several gotchas that can break DD. The conversion tracking post has the fixes for most common issues

Unfortunately, I can't see the error in your screenshot, because it didn't come through in your previous post. Could you please type out your error, try attaching it again, or try linking your image instead?

This is what I see:

Since I still don't know exactly what issue you are seeing, please start here:

New troubleshooting post, including conflicts and bodyslides

The one comment on SD+ equipping/unequipping devices, that is likely coming from SD+, not DD.  I haven't seen that issue in the SD+ SE version myself when I was enslaved, so it may very well be something specific to your install. DD is only involved because it has the scripts and other assets, but it will not do anything on it's own (it's a framework). It needs another mod (such as SD+ or DCL) to call those scripts. What is possibly happening here is a timing issue, there's nothing we can do for that that I know of. Some mods (I don't know if SD+ is one) will remove equipped items to add its own items, as long as the items aren't registered as quest items.

For the questions on bodies, we have CBBE and CBBE SE because originally people were using the LE CBBE still - all you had to do was optimize the meshes for SE. Then CBBE SE was released, and it was a complete rebuild of the body, not a port. So the CBBE and  CBBE SE bodyslides are not compatible. Which one you use depends on if you download CBBE from the SE downloads on the Nexus (this is CBBE SE) , or if you self converted CBBE from the LE side of the Nexus (this is CBBE). Both 'work', you'll just have clipping if you choose the wrong one.

Summary:

  • Some things, like the chains or outright incompatibility with some mods can't be completely fixed by us.
  • What we can fix has been done on an ad hoc basis after the AIO installer was released, so those patches are still loose.
  • There are literally 3 bodies to choose from since it is possible to use LE CBBE with SE. Bodyslides for additional bodies (3BBB and BHUNP) are not yet included. This may change if they become more popular.
  • Chains - they should have physics, but because of how HDT SMP works most will not 'connect'. Ankle chains are the exception, but won't 'connect' until you save, exit the game, and reload. So what you're looking for is simply do they conform to the body when applicable, and are they moving? If they're stiff, it's either an issue with HDT SMP or you need the DD/DCL/ZAZ patches I linked in the post above.
  • If you don't install HDT SMP, then you must install DDHotfix, or you will experience CTDs with some chains. This will replace the models that cause  CTDs with a different model that will not cause a crash.

If you are able to wait longer, a lot of the loose fixes should be integrated into DD 5.0 when it comes out of beta. DD 5.0 will require a new game, or a game where DD has not yet been installed. But it is also adding a lot more content, so there maybe other bugs that aren't caught in the beta.
