I still have no idea how to transfer a save to a new update without corrupting the save

Whenever I download a new version (wether it's the update only or the completely new file), my character and saves load in, but the map and NPCs don't, resulting in the game being unplayable. I would like to update the game without restarting my progress, so I would like to know how to properly update the game.

Hello!

I am having a bit of an issue. I downloaded this today for the first time (the game and the hotfix that was in the Mega folder), and everything seemed to work well. Unfortunately, the game seems to freeze consistently after five to 15 minutes. This happens during events as well as while traveling from one location to another. The game also seems to be taking up quite a bit of memory, but since I honestly don't know how much a game should use, I'm attaching a screenshot of Task Manager that I took after the game became unresponsive.

I am running the game on Windows 10 Home via Bootcamp with an AMD Radeon R9 M370X graphics card.

Thank you for your time! I apologize if this is user error (highly likely). I'm grateful for any advice anyone might have to help me stop this error from my end, too. :)

<snipped photos as the issue has been fixed by the developer!>

That's odd. The data about your character and NPCs are located in the same folder, not sure why it would load one but not the other. Maybe try running the game as admin? And make sure no firewall / anti-virus is blocking the game from reading / writing files

If that doesn't work, could you send me these two folders and I can have a look to see what's costing this:

- C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Local\LifePlay\Saved folder

- {GameFolder}\LifePlay\Content\Saves

Also, for previous versions, did you ever successfully load a save before? Or does this failure to load a save only start happening with v1.10?

How exactly does the perversion stat works out? It makes your character more of a libertine or has to do with how generally horny he/she is? For example, if I wanted to make a shy/innocent, but hella horny character, would a high or low perversion stat make more sense?

perversion = more likely to do perverted stuffs: sex in public, sex with stranger, et

arousal = current level of horniness, sex / masturbation depletes it

higher perversion will lead to arousal increasing more easily

interpersonal = how sociable the person is

So a shy girl who is a pervert deep inside probably will have low interpersonal but high perversion

Resolve Freezes in v1.10(.1)
Some of you may have experienced freezes in v1.10(.1). This can happen during the sugardaddy scene or just randomly after 10-15 min of gameplay. I'm glad to say I have identified the cause of this.
You won't even need a patch to fix this. Just go back in game, Esc > Customize NPC Distribution > Look into the right half of the screen, you'll find they're all a bunch of zeros. Change them to (these are the defaults, you can change them to whatever you want):
- Male: 0.45
- Female: 0.45
- Trans: (this should now change to 0.1)
- Interested in Opposite Sex: 0.9
- Interested in Same Sex: 0.2
- Interested in Transwoman: 0.2

Now Confirm > Save the game to any slot.

The issue should now be resolved. No more freezes.

What happened was the game tried to load your saved settings for NPC Distribution, it didn't find any so instead of just using the default values, it changes everything to zeros instead. This results in every NPC generated in game being asexual -> no-one is ever interested in your character. I'll make sure nothing turns to zero in the upcoming v1.11 this weekend, for now, following these instructions should resolve any freezes in v1.10(.1).

Special thanks to mallee for helping me test to find out the culprit.

Haven't checked back with this game in a while, seems like there's been a ton of progress!

Just out of curiosity, did the male victim portion of the non-con module ever get added in?

Still not yet I'm afraid. But I will at some point.

Although I did add corruption a few versions back, which do include MM too. I also added the NPC Distribution Customizer a while back, which you can use to increase the percentage of male NPCs generated that are interested in other men (rather than playing in the default world where 90% of people are straight), and to have them all have more ideal body types only.

In the ag_friendzone_rape.lpscene file in the NonConsensual module, shouldn't the '<' after 'masochist' in "1:: masochist < 0:: "Force myself upon <Actor.him_or_her>"" be flipped to '>'?

(In the future, is there a specific place you would prefer us to report bugs?)

The absolute best place to report bugs is directly to this Github issue: https://github.com/vinfamy/LifePlay/issues/18

BUT you can report bugs anywhere really: LoversLab, Patreon, Discord, ULML, Fenoxo. As long as I can read your post, it doesn't make a huge difference.

In this particular case,  1:: masochist < 0:: is intentional actually: positive masochist means masochistic, submissive character (more suitable to be a victim), negative masochist means dominant, misogynistic character (more suitable to be a rapist(

If you edit frat members, they lose that title. Probably a bug?

Will fix this for next version. For now, if you load your save, then Alt Tab, open \LifePlay\Content\Saves\_session\Characters and find your frat bro among the {number}.lpcharacter, look for "STAT rapportwithplayer" then change that line to

STAT rapportwithplayer: 100% 101.0

This should restore his frat status

Speaking of characters. Is there a way to limit the amount of characters in the game? The phonebook feels very full. It's hard to keep track of people

No dedicated way to limit that yet, except for perhaps cutting the LifePlay\Content\Modules\vin_Base\Scenes folder away to your Desktop (80% of scenes that lead to new Npcs come from that folder) and (if your game's still on) Ctrl + M > Confirm. Don't forget to move that folder back in your next playthrough

You can also delete (or block) NPCs you no longer care about in the Contacts menu so that it's not too overcrowded.

When I revamp the UI in a future update, the contacts menu should have some sorting / filtering options added

That makes sense. Turns out I got some definitions wrong. Oops.

Are there plans for adding the modeling career in the foreseeable future? It could go hand in hand with nude modeling, porn acting and whatnot.

Yes, that would fit in with the game quite nicely. I've been adding career paths for the last 3 updates though so I'll probably dedicate v1.13 and v1.14 to other non-career-related content. So maybe v1.15 I can add modeling career, that would be around early - mid November.

12 New Maps with v1.12 (Small Town Edition)
The following maps have been done and will be available for v1.12 (to be released this weekend) onwards:

  • Benidorm
  • Mislata
  • Pre-Saint-Gervais
  • Saint-Mande
  • Monaco
  • Pateros
  • Macau
  • West New York
  • Maywood
  • Sunny Isles Beach
  • Cambridge (MA)
  • Central Falls

Many people have requested smaller maps to be added as opposed to the current selection of mostly huge mega-city maps. The 12 above are a mix of small towns, suburbs to big cities, micro-cities, small tourist destinations, and university towns. Therefore, they're very small in size (most are less than 10 square miles) but they all have decent populations so the maps are not just empty - they still have plenty of buildings for you to play with (especially if you use the 'Randomize Unknown Buildings' feature).

These maps may be of particular interest to those with weaker PCs struggling with FPS while playing LifePlay as they're very performance-friendly and takes up very little memory.

Keep your requests coming!

Just curious: What process do you go through to make these maps? Would it be feasible to make them ourselves?

I go to OpenStreetMap, make a custom export of the area I want and save the OSM file on my PC.

Then I start up Unreal Editor, I have this Unreal plugin that I modified and expanded on to make maps for the game, so I can just Import the OSM file to genenerate the 'Data' file for the map. Then from the data file, I can just click on 'Create Static Mesh' (also added by the plugin mentioned above)

Then I add the new map to the map list in the game's GameInstance, including details like currency, exchange rate, racial makeup, cost of living and sexual freedom.

The first few steps can be done by the user (as long as they have Unreal Engine and my fork of the plugin linked above), it's the final step that's tricky as the game won't recognize the new map if it's not in the list. However, there's a way to get around this: when you import the OSM/ create static mesh, just name the files to something that already exists in the map list (like CentralLondon, NYC, Paris, etc), and the game will be 'tricked' into using the maps. Ideally, you want to choose the name of a map with similar currency, exchange rate, racial makeup, cost of living and sexual freedom.

Is it possible to have more than one girlfriend/wife living in your home? If no will it be possible? If yes, how to do that?

Yes, it's possible. Just enable the Polyamorous module and get multiple girlfriends and hang out with each at your home and if attraction is high enough, a scene will eventually trigger to ask her to move in, you can do that for as many gfs as you want.

As if you're impatient, you can just ask each girlfriend out, then open console (~#, tilde button under Esc, or Insert), then type:

move_in_with_dating

Then Enter

Do that for the other girlfriend too
