Site questions, comments, and suggestions

so far everything is fine, but only almost.
when I go to my profile, then should under my Cover image three or more categories appear (Activity, Clubs, Blogs, etc).
but these are no longer available???
I am at a loss.

I have had a weird thing happening. I will get a notification that someone has quoted me on a thread and there is nothing about it on the thread itself. The one this morning was that Jazzman quoted you on ZAP8+ 6 hours ago. I clicked on it and it showed the ZAP thread. There was no quote from Jazzman 6 hours ago. There was one previously from a day and a half past. Any idea of what could cause that?

Using the Activity Stream to follow up on topic of interests, after the recent software update its behavior shifted slightly. As of now it show read messages if the topic they are attached to possess unread ones, which can lead to a spammy list as shown by this screenshot.

 

Also, as a bit of request, could it be possible to turn off new thread messages in the notifications list? Since the activity stream does a better job as a helper to follow stuff I care about, the notification list not only becomes redundant but unhelpful when flooded with thread messages. I can't really know if anything else comes my way (or if anybody loves or hates what I write down).

that only happens when @Jazzman their Post removed again or a moderator that takes over (posts deletes), why that is unimportant.
if I would remove that answer again, then you will receive a notification, whether the Post is available or not.

I understand that and the first time it happened I did assume that what you describe is exactly what happened. However, it has occurred three times since the site upgrade with three different posters. They were not on the same thread, although they were all in the "Skyrim" category. Perhaps I am seeing a problem where none exists but that seems to be a lot of coincidence. By posting this here I thought if it was a moderator issue they might just say, "this has been a moderator issue" and I would have left it alone.

I am famous notorious, actually a nice Human, but I let myself provoke too fast, therefore, become my posts and answers are removed by moderators, I only see the message, answer to my post.
if you should be notified by a moderator, then I only say, then the sh** is on the boil! 
be glad that you do not receive a message from a moderator.

I have always enjoyed your posts (even if the moderators don't always). Like me I have seen you post warnings in threads for people to mind the rules, that takes some courage. No one appreciates being reminded when they stretch the rules to the breaking point. It tends to cause resentment. So props to you.

Despite the fact that CPU liked your post I will say that in talking to him I have always found him both reasonable and polite. In fact, in my opinion, he has the best manners of anyone on the site, including me.

No, I do not look forward to receiving the brunt of his wrath but, as I said, I always found him reasonable so, when I said I hoped that a moderator would simply say (about what I posted previously) "this was an issue the moderators dealt with." That was all I meant. Since CPU has clearly been following our exchange, and since he has not said anything along that line, I am afraid that I still don't know why it happened and I can only hope that it won't happen again. ☺️

There are 5 moderators, plus Ashal, so it is hard to pin something like this down.  Plus individuals can also delete their own comments, which makes it even more of a challenge.

That clutters a post. If you have Links and pictures in one post it's a mess. Why not the good old Links?

I had that problem as well a while back. It is probably one of the porn ads, or as it was in my case, a signature picture which was linked to a 3rd party image hosting site.

same here

avast gives a warning and prevents me from downloading files => URL:Mal

- happens if i click on files to download that are embedded in text

- no warning for the regular download via download icon

- scanned the downloaded files and they are all virus free

- this started a few days ago

- warnings pop up only for LL atm

 

- guess avast thinks i am a teenager that needs to be protected (thats nice! i feel much younger now and a bit annoyed)

Actually the code function doesn't always work. When I tried to use it in the comments of the blogs section (for example for the img bb code), well I just couldn't write the code in one go as the img  / img was read by the system when clicking on submit post/save post. This code :

[img=images's url]

turned into

[img=image's url]

Which effectively prevented me from posting the code in one go. ^^

 

So I had to post it in two separate code lines. Just kept it to myself, but as you brought this on I thought I might give some feedback.

 

EDIT : ha, the code got eaten even here ! The code i was trying to post is, with spaces added in between each character, is :

[ i m g ] image's url [ / i m g ]

 

However I don't think that many loverslabers use the code function in the first place (on that example I was trying to tell to another blogger how to post full width image). So I'm just mentioning it for the sake of feedback. But it gives you an idea of the annoyance that the read-on-the-fly engine can be compared to the on-off switchable one we bloggers had at the era of the bbcode button.
