This is where internet is heading : kids, angry moms and special snowflakes. No creativity unless we tolerate it.

Do not make mistake they do not block the "creativity", just the reproduce of some situations, that I consider uncreative anyway.

When guys look at underage or rape.. It's the fact of seeing kids or rape in a scene in something looking more realistic than imaginative... It's absolutly normal to ban this type of content.

When people are attracted by that.. There is a little grain in the brain, and Patreon do not want to become a place or reference for pedophiles and rapists, it would do them a lot of harm and risk of lawuits from many group of people.

I'm more mixed for bestiality, because it's not necessary rape or underage, but the fact it's also forbidden in many countries..

I get your point on rape and paedophilia, they're against the law for obvious reasons.

But when did porn become illegal ? This is the point I'm trying to make. I think the people trying to ban sexuality should really reconsider their lifes and insecurities.

Talk about a modern society... What's the next idiotic step ? Ban everything that has bad words in it ?

Before this deviates into a morality debate, there is a business explanation of what Patreon is doing and why it's hypocritical of them (as well as many Internet platforms such as Paypal, FB, Uber etc).

Financial intermediaries are heavily regulated for obvious reasons and one of them is to not financing illegal activities.  One tenant of that shield is "know your customers" compliance infrastructure.  It is very expensive to set up and maintain.  Paypal, by design skirted around such compliance procedures and the added anonymity of its services allows the company to grab significant shares from "old" economy competitors.  It however, could be liable should the transactions is directly linked to illegal activities.  Allowing minors to purchase adult materials is one glaring example and easily provable in court.  This why VISA/MASTER and banks can have adult merchants as customers but not Paypal.  Paypal does not have a higher moral standard than banks or credit card companies, its method of disrupting existing industry regulations allows it to make huge amount of money but also afforded it less legal shields on how it conducts its own businesses.

Patreon wants to have Paypal, for the same reason people use Paypal, they want anonymity because a large portion of its revenue are from adult/porn materials (CPU said as much as 90%).  This puts Paypal at risk so they are putting pressure on Patreon.  Patreon can have porn if they drop Paypal because most form of porn is legal but a lot of users probably don't want to pay for Patreon using credit cards.  However this ends it will be either: Patreon drops Paypal and keeps porn, Patreon drops adult materials, Patreon puts up facades of no-porn but everyone knows they are buying porn (money laundering); and all has nothing to do with morality but money.
