Is there a male version of this mod?

No. At least I haven't created any. But there is some content in this mod that works for everyone, including homosexual male characters.

I've thought a lot about possibly adding a second society for males, but every idea I've come up with was too superficial for my tastes. So instead of creating straight up porn, I've focused on developing the stuff I already have.

I've probably said this before, but I'll repeat myself just in case - if anyone has a good vision for what a male homosexual society should be and wants to create their own mod, they're free to use my code in their work.

Which content works for homo male characters?

I do have a good vision for a male homosexuality society, something like Order of Chaeronea and the Sacred Band of Thebes but I don't know how to mod.

Look for id = LES.35083 in les_family. It's the "threesome" event that makes your lovers become each other's lovers as well. Works with up to 4 characters (each character has 3 lovers). Actually the old version needs tweaking to work specifically for homosexual males, but the new version I am releasing in a few minutes should work for everyone.

And also look for the file les_adolescence. Almost everything except a couple of events at the end works for every character, and even those events can be easily re-purposed to fit anyone.

I can't teach you to mod, but try the ck2 wiki or look for the tutorial Paradox have released about a year back. Read the game files to understand how events work. I have worked on this mod for 4 months before it was ready for the initial release and I could barely understand anything about ck2 modding when I started. So if you put your mind to it - good luck!

EDIT: was reading about the band of Thebes and it is a very good concept for a mod. Someone should definitely make it.

Version 1.55 is out!

The new version requires "Republic Equality", so if you haven't installed it yet, now is the time.

Among the new features is the social backlash that will come if you implement some of the new laws that were added with the previous version. Foreign nations can invade you to return your realm to agnatic succession and force your abdication. Your own vassals might try to do the same thing. You will see smaller revolts throughout your kingdom once the laws come into effect.

I've added an event chain ("daughter's lover"), that I've been working on since winter (more like "procrastinating"). A certain lady was supposed to help me write it to add some more realism to it, but I couldn't contact her for months (if you're reading this, I hope you like it in your new home).

I've had a lot of time for working on the mod recently, but, sadly, not enough time to test it thoroughly. So if you see any bugs, let me now - I will fix them.

This is the last feature update for "School of Sappho". There is no new content planned for this mod. Future updates will likely only have bugfixes. I thank everyone for your support and I hope to see you again if I have any more stuff to throw your way.

Releasing the 1.56 version with numerous bugfixes.

There could still be more bugs though, so PLEASE if you find any - let me know. I am unable to test the mod thoroughly myself, so I will need some help.

No new content in this version per se, but the fixes are substantial - the factions which were added with the previous version were completely broken, and were (hopefully) fixed with this version.

I remember saying something about no new content in the future... BUT there was a certain event chain that I was writing even before I published the mod, but it was cut due to it being too complex and flawed to be used in the game in its intended state. Now I am thinking on rewriting it, making it simpler and releasing it. Spoiler: it has a lot of sex and someone was asking for something like that. I haven't started working on it yet, so it may take a few weeks.

Released v1.57 which fixes a bug that crawled into the code due to my sloppy editing. Nothing else is changed, so updating from v1.56 is highly recommended.

I keep getting reset to "Agnatic" after 1 or 2 days when implmenting Female Sup or Tyranny :(

I might know the cause, there should be a fix in a few hours. But just to be clear - are you absolutely sure your reverting to agnatic is not because a faction is demanding it from you?  Never mind, fixed it.

Released v1.59 with some small syntax and loc error fixes. I know that v1.58 was 3 hours ago, but I saw no reason of not releasing the new one once it was ready. If you have v1.58 installed, the new one won't really make much difference.

everything seems to work now, will say if I run across anything :)

Hi! I was wondering, is there some special requirement to marry your lover? For some reason it's not letting me do it, even as highest level in the Society.

I think it's somewhere between 30 and 70 years after the creation of the society where an event will pop which enables "marry lover"

Spoiler

if you want to skip the wait after creating the society use the console and type "event LES.0006"

Yeah, what minisune said. Try keeping society influence above 50% to make the event appear sooner.

Was there something with the update that took out or away Enactic Succession?  Or added more conditions to it?

Yes, it is still there if you use the new crown laws. But it is only available for king-tier and emperor-tier rulers. It is because I wanted to simplify the code and remove all the old and useless stuff from it and I didn't account for the fact that Duchies and Counties would lose it. I am now thinking about giving duke and count-tier titles the option to implement enatic succession with the next update.

Done, with v1.6 duchies and counties can have enatic succession as well. They just have to get absolute cognatic first.

Loving the mod -- I've managed to parlay Matilda of Tuscany's line up from a simple duchess to the rulers of a vast lesbian Italian Empire.  The School can actually be impressively powerful -- since lower-ranked rulers in the Society get the 'obedient' modifier to any requests, I've managed to vassalize Aquitaine, Hungary, Lithuania, and Rus just by asking.  (Well, and by getting members of the Society on their thrones, but that just means it's not too easy.)

I have noticed one thing.  When the 'daughter's lover' event comes up, if you consent to getting them married, it looks like the resulting matrilineal marriage is in the lover's favor, not your daughter's, and thus all their children will be of the lover's dynasty.  That can cause unpleasant inheritance problems if you aren't careful.

Haha, that's amazing xD I'm playing as a line of Byzantine empresses myself, and I wish I had more free time, because I couldn't even test most of the newest stuff in my own playthrough.

That is... strange. To my knowledge matrilineal marriage works in the woman's favor, meaning that children will always have the dynasty of their biological mother. What could actually be happening here is more likely caused by the on_birth events. The "father" receives an event about her wife giving birth and IF said wife is unlanded, the "father" can legitimize the child, making her/him a member of her dynasty. There are a few problems still with this event that I will fix with the next update, but concerning your own issue the most I can do is either stop the "father" from legitimizing children if she is unlanded, or remove the option for AI characters entirely.

Well, since I haven't been playing Ironman mode, it hasn't presented too serious a problem -- the 'kill' console command is right there, after all, even if it feels bad to use it.  Just thought I should bring it to your attention, even if I misdiagnosed it slightly.

Well, it shouldn't be a problem anymore, but just in case, tell me if it happens again.

Also, an announcement. Just released v1.62 with a fix to minor titles.

Okay, so I just tried the new version and some minor titles are still duplicated (for example court physician, although you can only assign one, but the "You should really assign a court physician" info thingie stays up on top). I only have a very limited modding knowledge but it seems you included your own title file (les_minor_titles.txt) and also the base 00_minor_titles.txt. Not quite sure if that's why?

In any case it's a cool mod, thanks for making it.
