I find the simplest way is to use LOOT (that way I don't have to go through the various manners each of the mod managers use.

 

Run LOOT. Once it's done it's thing note the icon on the top right of the page that looks like three vertical dots (or buttons). Pressing on that will get you your load order which you can then put in your post. Please, please, please put it into a spoiler so that it doesn't take up so much room in the thread.

On the plug-ins tab, underneath the green tick, theres a button with an arrow pointing to the right. Thats the button you need and the rest is self-explanatory. ?

I have the beta version of sexlab stories devious from here and it seems the in game MCM menu is missing? Also there are none of the things going on from the mod in game either even though it is installed. I am thinking I should download the last devious version and install it then reinstall this beta over it to get all the menus back?

I said 'hopefully' since these are issues I do not have on my test games, and I could not test properly.

So im after few hours of testing and:

 

SD+ installing window pop up - Fixed 

"You are enslaved to a master that has been removed from master races. Your enslavment was terminated." - Fixed (only vampires are removed - same as it was in old versions)

No tasks - Fixed

Cages - Not fixed same as before:

     -Big cage with gate door - scenes works fine but days are not updating 

     -Normal cages and cells - scenes not working but days updating

Master is too far to collar you again - Not sure to be honest i did not pay enough attention i think it appear few times

Do you have stories installed? Devious stories requires it "to work properly" according to the OP

Well i'm no expert but it looks like you're trying to get it running on Skyrim SE rather than vanilla Skyrim. ?

My beta5 game has gone well so far although I've not yet made it to Dreamworld (yes, I've been enslaved and tried sleeping 4 times). 

 

The main reason I'm writing is to confirm that SlaveTats is not a requirement for playing SD. I have it now but I think I may drop it in my next playthrough.

As long as you remove both SlaveTats and Slave Tats Event Bridge, you should be good to go without it.

The question about SlaveTats was about removing them safely. If you want to keep them, it doesn't apply to you.

 

You should be able to upgrade to beta5 by overwriting the files.

 

About the quest - find a way to go back to Sanguine's world and talk to the Alicias there.

Is it still advised to start your game up without SD+ ESP loaded, then enable it after SexLab and everything else all initialised and set up?

 

This is a PITA if you use a Bashed/Smashed patch, and it always makes me uncomfortable installing a complex ESP into the middle of my load order.

I have similar qualms about Helgen Reborn.

 

DCL defers startup processing to solve the startup-overload problem, and many other mods simply start disabled and require a manual enable (which I think is best).

 

SD+, in contrast, pops up a message box and tells you its starting right away, when perhaps you would prefer to defer starting it.

I take it that the issue is there are a whole load of auto-run quests, and it's not trivial to move to a start on demand model?

 

Or am I out of date, and this is solved now?

I solved that issue on my end by adding SD+ at the end of the load order, AFTER the bashed patch.

 

I may revisit the whole starting sequence someday, but it will take a while before I get to that point.

For whatever reasons it has, LOOT thinks that is not where SD+ should go. In my latest build it puts it number 32 of about 190 mods ... pretty early.

Sometimes LOOT is just wrong about mods, but you'd think it has its reasons.

Sometimes, I have just stuck SD+ on the end, but always worried it was possibly causing some of the problems I saw.

LOOT is notably wrong on many mods that are not mainstream. It relies on a database of mod recommendations that is not always well documented for sex mods among other things.  was wrong on the load order of several mods I used when I tried it.

 

In other words, don't trust LOOT recommendation on any of my mods and place them after your bashed patch :)

I still recommend to place my mods after the bashed patch however. The main reason being they can and will still change and they will require updates, which is better done without disturbing what bashed patch collected together.

 

The same can be applied to any evolving or experimental mod. 

 

If you expect you will update a mod a lot, it is better to place it after the bashed patch. And always keep your load order in the same order, especially after you update mods.

I have had some similar experiences to DBF when it comes to loot and LL mods. At times it has produced terrible sorts for them.

 

There was a period where it would mis-sort MME against its own ESPs persistently, but that seems to have stopped now.

 

Around the same time, almost anything from LL would be sorted wrong, but stuff seems to have settled down a bit again.

I don't know how LOOT collects data for its special rules, but there is quite a lot that can be done to determine a better sort offline by considering what records conflict.

However, doing that for all mods would be a big job, and the only practical way I could see to do it is to pull all the records out mod by mod and put them into a decent properly scaleable database; I'm guessing that LOOT doesn't do that, though maybe it does look at some subset of record types and put them into a DB?

 

 

I guess what interests me is why SD+ is sorted so early by LOOT. Was there any good reason? I had to find out more...

 

It's self-evident that jamming SD+ on the end of your load order is fine for SD+ itself ... but what about the things it overwrites? Does it do any harm?

 

Also, if you use Mator Smash, which merges a LOT more records than Bash (which does almost nothing, apart from levelled lists), you are splatting over the Smash and potentially losing some benefit/conflict resolution if you simply put SD+ over the top and don't Smash it in.

 

For development, sure, a no brainer ... for beta maybe ... but what about normally?

(If I'm just playing with a beta, I start a new game for any update, because a clean upgrade is asking a bit much really, unless the changes are trivial).

 

So to see for myself I loaded my entire LO (minus the Smash and my DynDOLOD) into TES5Edit and had a look at conflict losers...

 

It's by no means a large set of LL mods; most of my mods are regular stuff, but I have a few LL staples in there, DCL, Defeat, apropos, Parasites, Hormones, SL Adventures, SLUTS Redux, PoP, DD Equip, SOS, Slavetats, CF, MNC, SS, DC, etc. However, in this LO, there's no DF, no MME, no CD,  no PSQ or DeadlyDrain, and no TDF mods as I'm having a break from them while I mess with the DBF betas.

 

SD+ and Immersive Encounters conflict quite a bit, with IEnc sorted by LOOT after SD+, SD+ thug changes are taking a beating, in a sense (0x00035B5A).

It has to be said IEnc also plays havoc with USLEEP. IEnc is ... quite conflicty, and doesn't have USLEEP fixes in it.

Also, The Choice is Yours and Better Quest Objectives do not play well together. Should get rid of one of those (probably both can go), but no impact on SD+ there.

 

But that's it. Apart from some max-height stuff that's always conflicting for everything, SD+ has practically no conflicts worth mentioning.

 

 

Final check, I loaded the Smash... It didn't appear to resolve the issue with the thugs, but I'd have to load it into the CK to see for sure; I'm not sure how to interpret the raw VMAD data in this case, but it looks like SD+ replaces the fragments on the quest, and IEnc does too, and there is a conflict that means SD+ changes are lost ... unless you put SD+ after IEnc which is not what LOOT does - but in that case IEnc loses out. 

 

Unfortunately, I couldn't get my whole LO including the Smash into the CK - it crashed out - but that's the CK for you (yup, I redated my plugins).

Will have to make a special test ESM with just the records of interest from the Smash to dig further into this.

 

 

I would probably want SD+ over IEnc in this case, and that's not what LOOT thinks should happen.

 

LOOT's sort of SD+ is pointlessly early, has little basis, and privileges an old (but popular) Nexus mod over a much more up-to-date LL one.

 

I would guess this is simply "numbers win" in LOOT: the most popular mod gets priority in conflicts. SD+ is sorted early because no dependency forces it later, and other more mainstream (more popular) mods are being given a later position because that minimizes the number of people with a (slightly) broken game. Though if you have IEnc in, your game is going to have breakages of one kind or another for sure, due to the USLEEP issues.

 

It was worth looking at this level, as it shows a couple of mods I need to take out of my LO.

Threw out those troublesome mods, moved SD+ to end of LO, and started a new game.

 

Came across a few bugs. That's what betas are for right?

 

 

Defeated by frost troll on the way up to High Hrothgar, Defeat gives me the option to surrender enslaved, so I give it a try.

Unlike previous game, where Defeat was not transferring into SD+, it worked fine.

 

My follower was enslaved along with me, and renamed to "Slave".

 

Frost troll is not a very interesting master. He quickly shreds my poor character with apropos damage.

Troll wants a lot of sex, seems that is all. This is a good thing as there is not much to give him up on that mountain.

 

Troll will bark repeatedly during sex scenes, and you lose allowance, but it's unclear what the troll is doing. In any case, not much you can do to placate him when your controls are locked. I see this message pair a lot "Owner barks at you."|(Nevermind...)"

 

Allowance goes down, then goes up. Troll decides to rape the follower, allowance goes up.

 

So, maybe that's working as intended, but it seems totally random and somewhat pointless.

 

Actual bugs: when troll rapes follower, sex animations don't play most of the time. But occasionally, they do.

During these non-animations, I can bring up a message box with options [Controller] [Masturbate] [Talk Owner]

If I pick controller, there's one option, and it's always "Zap Doggy"

 

OTOH, animations with the player all worked, and some were very good.

 

 

Troll often has sex with no arousal, and retracted penis. This looks a bit odd.

 

 

When the troll wants to rape the follower, you get a message saying that "You are being pushed down [Submit] [Resist].

There's no mention that it's the follower who will get the rape if you submit. In fact, how can you submit on the follower's behalf?

It makes no sense at all. It was a while before I realised that was what was happening when the box popped up. I always submitted, and the follower would get a rape, and I'd earn an allowance point, then immediately lose it again. There was a lof of immediately earning a point (the losing it again, right away).

Only on rare occasions was a submit/resist related to the player.

 

Allowance points level stayed very stable, in the -10 to 10 range.

 

Sometimes the "Slave" follower would be told to rape the PC. This only played animations about half the time.

 

 

If you give the troll presents, you can beg them back off the troll and give them again, and again.

Doing this, I managed to turn a small number of snowberries into over 80 points of credit with the troll. Hardly a buyout, but if I'd been somewhere with more berries or food, I could have pulled it off.

 

When you give the troll presents, you get the normal speech messages, "Keep it up slave" etc, instead of barks and "Smiling..."

 

Did I mention the troll is an amazingly dull master? He does nothing at all except stand around, maybe walk up a hill, and rape you. Over and over. Lots of rapes.

Troll never sleeps, and cannot be pick-pocketed, just rapes you 24/7. Unless you sleep, but sleep hours don't count towards release, so you may as well not sleep.

 

So, troll-master takes me up to High Hrothgar itself, and into the Greybeard's area. GBs where cool with the troll, troll was cool with them. I was able to complete the training quest with the GBs, including the whirlwind sprint part. Troll was totally chill with the whole thing.

 

We set off back down the mountain. Eventually a dragon showed up and burned the troll to toast. Sad. I was hours away from release due to time.

 

Even more sad. When the message about the collar releasing its grip came up. My controls were suddenly locked. I had to stand and helplessly let the dragon burn me.

I should have been able to rob the troll corpse of the key and make a run for it. Option was denied by intrusive control locking.

 

I SD+ surrendered to the dragon. It took me as a slave, but was more interested in incinerating a camp of Stormcloaks some distance away. My controls remained locked, in the kneeling bound position from initial enslavement.

 

I used the key to port to my master, and appeared in the middle of fight between Stormcloaks and the dragon. Stormcloaks were totally hostile to me, and my controls were still locked.

 

I could have surrendered to them, I suppose. Instead I died. Thought I'd write this up before I forget.

 

I could talk to the follower while we were enslaved. No special Slave dialogue, just the vanilla stuff. This was a very ordinary follower with no special dialogue, and totally vanilla functionality. I was not running DF, but was using EFF.

 

SD+ would let me ask to go with the enslaved follower, now renamed to "Slave". I could ask this slave, who was my follower, "Can I go with you?"

 

I tried this once. The follower took over as my master, and added +500 to my debt. Debt was not reset, as it used to be, but accumulated. So, I had a debt of about 930 or something. At this point troll wandered off, bored. I saw a message "You cannot wear two collars at once" then follower threw a fit that I wasn't wearing a collar, though I was still wearing the troll's collar.

 

TBH, I think it makes no sense that you can be enslaved by a slave and it frees the slave and makes them a master. That is a bug. The double collar is also a bug. I'm guessing that happens with more convincingly legitimate masters too.

 

This weird circular enslavement was, overall the most broken thing. Though the controls locking when the troll died was pretty frustrating.

 

Also, I noticed that during troll sex with the PC, the follower would sometimes move, tracking the back and forth of the troll+PC. Seems like the follower had been added into the scene despite it only being a two person animation?

 

The troll never formed a legitimate threesome with the PC and follower renamed to "Slave", though I had animations that would have permitted that.

 

At one point a box popped up with a message about how the constant rapes were doing my head in, and how I needed to figure out more about my master so I could escape. This was a bit frustrating, as the troll was ... a troll ... it did not sleep, did not rest, just fucked non-stop. If you got a break it was because it was fucking the follower. Perhaps the presents exploit was the intended way to escape the troll? Too bad there were only about 11 snowberries that I could access, plus two apples and an ale in the sacks at the top.

 

Perhaps the funniest irony was that the dragon killed the troll, but I could easily have killed the dragon myself, while the troll basically resisted all damage from the PC and the follower in the fight that led to the initial enslavement, it was weak to fire. I wonder if it could have won against an ice dragon?

I don't have the time right now to drill into all the details but I have a coupe of things I can answer right away.

 

The two things in quote above should not happen.

 

SD+ does not have control locks anymore. That may be a bug or something from another mod, but it is not deliberate.

 

Dragons are explicitly prohibited from enslavement because they can fly away. Enslavement should not have happened.

Is that a vanilla dragon or a custom race from a mod?

 

Trolls, as most creatures, are dull masters by design. They only care about eating and sex. I don't have any viable idea of things to give them to do.... nothing I can implement in any practical way at least.

 

Oh and the 'taking and giving again and again' is a loophole I am aware of. I reduced by making the master equip or eat things as you give them but it is still something you can abuse if you are bored or want to cheat.

 

I will read the rest later tonight or tomorrow.
