First, I want to thank you. I love this mod. I appreciate the in-game modularity of it so you can quickly enable/disable a plugin if you run into issues. I think it is a mod that many people on Nexus would enjoy, so if you ever consider making a 'lite' version I believe it will become one of the most popular mods.

 

I ran into the Simple Slavery issue too, no biggie for me. I had a follower with me so I head-cannoned that he moved my fat ass :lol:.

 

I think I ran into a problem, well, two. I don't mind difficulty, but I have trouble with the lockpicking. I'm at the start of a game. When I ran into a chest, I couldn't even try lockpicking because it kept rearming. I decided to save the 'trap rearm' feature until much later and turned it off. It kept rearming. I had to temporarily disable the plugin. I re-enabled it, with 'trap rearm' disabled, and continued. That was near Whiterun. In one of the barrows, I found a chest. It was locked. It was trapped. It kept rearming. I read about three chapters of a book while constantly spamming the interact key hoping to finally get the chance to pick the lock. Never happened. Again, I had to finally disable the plugin. I consider this a minor problem, partly because you made it so easy to disable/enable in game through the MCM. Thanks again for that.

 

What is more troublesome to me is that I may have found a conflict with Convenient Horses. One reason I love CH is the ability to loot and harvest while on horseback. For some reason, I have a lot of trouble doing so since installing FMEA. I can hit that harvest key as often as I like and get nothing. Now, I am currently on a stolen horse, so that might be a problem. However, when I am on a horse I legitimately own, and in a different playthrough, I had the same problem. Sometimes, if I go to the ingredients plugin and cycle through rename and block I can then harvest and I think I still got the effects. That only lasted for the duration of the ride. Each time I rode my horse, I had to cycle through again. It didn't always work.

 

I can provide my load order, but I'll have to sign in to another browser first. IE isn't letting me paste. However, I can't think of another mod that affects harvesting. I also have Realistic Needs and Diseases, but I think Convenient Horses is a much more likely conflict. I tried adjusting the load order and that didn't work. If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate it. I really like your mod and the harvesting may be my favorite plugin of the three.

I'll check the traps reset code - once this is deactivated  the trap should  clear the next time it is triggered. You could also change the lockpicking success chance (and other settings) if you find it too unforgiving at low skill levels.

 

Edit: Confirmed - Disable Auto Rearm not working as intended.  I'll sort out a fix for the next release

 

I don't use convenient horses so I'm not quite sure what is going on there. 

 

FMEA doesn't change how activation of harvestables occurs it just adds a perk that detects the activation and triggers the relevant script.

 

It is possible that things are getting confused because you are mounted. Short of forcing a dismount when an effect occurs I'm not sure what could be done - open to suggestions!

The idea of this mod is great and I just started a new game with it installed. It's working just fine but there's one annoyance I have found. Every time I pick a lock which sounds an alarm my follower (Lydia) turns aggressive and attacks me. There is no way to stop her and I always have to reload the game after my weak starting character dies. Maybe the followers shouldn't react to these alarms, at least not in the "hostile" areas like caves and bandit camps.

 

I haven't come across this problem, but I'll take a look - are you using any follower addon

When I tried to install this mod, I received an error "DragonBorn is required" (or was it Dawnguard?) Anyway, this dependency is not mentioned for this mod. What's wrong?

I don't use follower mods in this game. I usually use AFT but left it out because I plan to use this game for the Skyrim Romance V3.0 which might have problems with the follower mods. One mod that comes to mind which has somewhat similar funcionality is Traps Make Noise - More Dangerous Traps, but I haven't had this problem with it before.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't at the time of my last post, but since then I had Lydia with me. I can confirm she turned hostile and first attacked my familiar before attacking me. I believe the alarm sounded once, and I was poisoned once. She attacked both times. I do have a couple of follower mods installed (partly because I forgot to disable one) but they are both simple, that is they don't have any quests or unique dialog. I do not have any of the follower mods, the ones where you can change a follower's attributes or have more than one follower at a time. Convenient Horses does allow a follower to ride a horse, I don't know if this will help you or not.

 

For now I'll disable the ingredients plugin when I'm riding and re-enable when I'm not. Hopefully that will give me the best (or is it worst) of both worlds. :)

I'm not sure if I misunderstand or there is a conflict with other mod. I go to a red mountain flower ( as an example ), but it's not renamed to plant.

I have saved and reloaded, still the same. I have changed the settings to block and still shows name of plant.

So, what am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

 

EDIT

It was Harvest Overhaul mod conflicting. I disabled it and clean saved.  Started up game and mora tapinella just showed fungus.

I'm happy now, all fixed, until I poison myself. :)

I've added it to the OP.

 

The dependencies are there to provide support to ingredients from the DLCs (and in future releases to use locations and actors from them) so they can't be removed - sorry,

  • Added: Toggle to enable/disable followers as potential abusers/masters
  • Bugfix: Followers will now ignore lockpicking alarms
  • Bugfix: Traps on locks will now be cleared correctly when triggered with "Auto Rearm" disabled

My char did her first alchemical experiments lately, having finally learned a few ingredients' properties, but it still went badly wrong and the whole thing literally blew up in her face. So much fun, and wonderfully seemlessly integrated into the main game. Gone are the days of easy low level money by just mixing stuff together and selling it to the next vendor. Being able to cook up something in alchemy feels like a real achievement now.

 

This mod is definitely one of my "must have" mods now, can't play without it.

I have the enchanting plugin on test atm - all looking good so far just need to find the time to final test and add more choices to some of the outcomes.

 

The only annoying thing is that I haven't been able to find a reliable way to identify the newly enchanted item (the skse functions don't seem to work on items in containers) so I can't have a failure to enchant and then a critical failure with effect - it'll just be a critical chance for something bad to happen if make things with souls beyond your skill  level.

Long story short, whenever I load a saved game, I can no longer interact with any workstations/furniture (as in, I don't get the interact prompt at all). This can be resolved by resurrecting the player, but that has another problem of stripping all active buffs/debuffs, etc., and as soon as I reload a game the problem resurfaces. None of the other fixes for this behaviour reported online (e.g. player.tai and the like) seem to sort it out, and ZaZ doesn't report any limited states, etc. I've tried using a variety of 'control restore' things (like ZaZ, PO, etc.) with no luck.

 

Any thoughts? ;)

Afraid I'm not sure what to suggest - FMEA doesn't change the activation of any workbench object, just checks for the player using the workbench by using the players onsit event and a perk that starts a fmea script when the workbench is activated.

 

I had this happen in one of my games once - (long before I started writing FMEA). I never did work out what caused it... Sorry

Really enjoying this mod, thank you. Been using it along with Traps and Pitfalls. Makes me play cautiously again, instead of just run up and open chest.

I just started using the Learn from Recipes mod. My little Bosmer was confused for 2 days due to narcosis, ah the pretty colors. Must have eaten something that didn't agree with her. :) Look double rainbows.

Hello there! Decided to try this one out, seems interesting. :)

 

Are Lockpicking and Alchemy plugins supposed to show v0.0 upon installing? They also don't show that message right after I install them, only some time later. Do I have to wait for them to initialize or "plugin enabled" message is enough?

 

Tentacle attacks, flowering spriggan and enslavement chance options are grayed out also. Do they require something special? (have SD+, Simple Slavery and EC+ installed)

 

Other than that, looks like the mod is working correctly. Ingredients plugin at least. Not with a Nirnroot though, but I guess it's intentional.

I even started a new game to test and outcome is the same. I'll play around that then and post once I achieve something. :)

Hello again,

I dl'd your update and merged the files with the previous version (using Mod Organizer). I wanted to let you know that I tested Lydia, she did NOT attack me. Yay!

Also, I am able to harvest from horseback again via Convenient Horses. I don't know if it's because of your update or because I'm not riding a stolen horse, but harvesting with the ingredients plugin enabled is working. It takes a little longer for the harvesting to kick in, but that's okay. I think that's probably due to CH's scripting. Just wanted to let you know.

And autorearm no longer does so if I disable it in the lockpicking plugin.

@PD_ I don't have EC+ installed, so I know why the tentacle attacks in my case are greyed out. Did you check your other mods to make sure everything is enabled?

I'm not. I'll keep rummaging and playing around, see if I can figure out the culprit. :)

It's a long shot but try installing it and then using it's player debug function - if you problem is animation related it might fix it... If not nothing lost :)

 

 

As an addendum, I didn't give this a shot, but I was able to get the bug fixed on every load with player.recycleactor instead of player.resurrect (recycleactor seemed to not strip every perk/buff/effect on the character, at least).

 

If I knew exactly what recycleactor and resurrect did I might be able to find out what fixes it and, accordingly, what caused it. :P

Hello, any plans for devious devices stuff? that would be great. 

 

No decision as yet - potentially could be part of smithing/leatherworking or just an outcome from being unconscious but it's pretty well covered by other mods so it's not at the top of the to do list.

Using default settings for Ingredients there is an effect (not sure which, sorry) that includes a sizzling/static sound. The problem is that the first time I get this effect on a character it won't go away until I save, exit skyrim to desktop, and reload. After the first time it does not happen again on any given character. I've started half a dozen new games lately for various reasons and this has happened every time so I thought I'd check.
