[The Sims 4] Working on Prostitution Mod

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I waited for someone to release this kind of mod, as I enjoyed a similar type that was (or perhaps still is) available for the Sims 3. Since I haven't seen anything like it for The Sims 4, I have decided to take a crack at it myself. This will be my first mod so this may take a while before anything is ready to be released to the public. I also wanted to share my idea with everyone so I can get feedback, but also so others in the community might be inspired to make their own version as well with perhaps a better implementation. Ether way, what matters to me is that the community benefits from it.

Here is my high level design for an initial implementation. Later on I will describe further ideas/enhancements:

The mod's functionality will be primarily driven by the presence (or absence) of 2 new custom traits. A Provider trait and a Working Trait. Still haven't decided either/both of these traits will be invisible to the player.

Provider trait

Identifies the sim as a provider of the service. This trait will be active as long as the sim wants to be a provider.

Working trait

The presence or absence of this trait determines if the provider sim is currently providing services. This may seem redundant at first ("why not just use one trait?"), but my thinking is that this is laying the groundwork for future functionality that benefits from keeping the sim's identity as a provider and whether or not they are actively working separated.

Registration

It would be ideal to register through the phone menu service options or through a computer. Registering/Un-registering is what adds/removes the Provider trait. The functionality for adding/removing the Working trait could be added here or in the settings interaction described below.

Interactions

Top Level

Requirements:

  • The selected sim has the Provider Trait

This would be the name of the mod or something similar (Prostitution...). All new interactions would be housed under this top-level interaction and are dependent on it being available.

Buy/Solicit Service

Requirements:

  • An active sim selects another sim
  • The selected sim has the Provider Trait
  • The selected sim has the Working Trait

The success rate with this interaction should be 100%. The interaction would not be select-able if the active sim does not have the funds available to buy the service. Upon success, the sims will go to the nearest object that supports Woohoo (I'm thinking that the logic for this would be very similar to the standard woohoo interaction).

Sell Service

Requirements:

  • An active sim selects another sim
  • The active sim has the Provider Trait
  • The active sim has the Working Trait

I'm not exactly sure what formula would be used to determine success. I do know that the charisma of the provider should be a primary factor. Relationship should only be a factor if the potential buyer has a negative relationship to some degree. Upon success, the sims will go to the nearest object that supports Woohoo (I'm thinking that the logic for this would be very similar to the standard woohoo interaction).

Settings

Requirements:

  • The active sim has the Provider Trait

This brings up a window that will contain all configurable settings. For now, this would probably only have the payment multiplier and possibly a separate interaction that disables/enables the sim to provide the service.

Payment

Need to determine if payment is given on a successful interaction or after woohoo. I can foresee complications with the former where the interaction is successful, payment is given, but then suddenly something happens where they cannot woohoo (maybe because all objects are suddenly not available). In such a case, a refund may be required.

I want to start off with a simple formula:

payment = Charisma_Skill * multiplier

The multiplier will be configurable in the settings menu described above. I was thinking this would have a default value of 20.

Other Ideas

I can foresee a lot of potential with a mod like this. Here are some other ideas I have.

  • Sims Autonomously buying/selling the service.
  • Deduct money from the funds of the buyer.
  • Add the buy/sell interaction to woohoo-able objects, which brings up a menu of valid providers/clients to select from.
  • An option in the menu to determine working hours for the sims: Start/End times, working days.
  • More factors that determine pay such as the presence of certain traits/buffs.
  • Tips that are based on skill or relationship.
  • Integration with Wicked Woohoo (This would warrant a separate version). This could utilize the new skills and animations that this fantastic mod offers. Pay could be changed to be based on the aforementioned skills and/or on the animation's duration (hourly rate?). The multiplier could also change based on the type of woohoo (oral/hand jobs have a lower multiplier that vaginal and anal)

What I had thought about was a mod that uses the Sims4 "Get to Work" dlc for a functional brothel. Would this be possible? I don't know, I have no idea how to create such a mod but maybe one of you do. But I was thinking that you could use the framework that it has for running your own store, but instead of selling various goods to your customers, you would sell your employees service. That little bar they have above their head for interest in a product might be used so that when it is filled, it will trigger a WickedWhims animation. You could have bedrooms for service rooms. I don't know if there's a way to force certain objects as sex locations, but that would be useful, otherwise I'd imagine they'd just start doing it on the floor. The dlc offers a lot of functionality that should be useful for this, as you will have to pay your girls (or guys if you fancy), you can hire/fire and manage specific employees, set their outfits (in this case I imagine you could use a custom skimpy outfit), and there's already the system in place for bringing in customers and receiving the payment. I really like the idea that you could custom build your own brothel, as far as the structure and design. So to me it seems like there is already a lot of functionality in place, but I don't know how difficult this would be to do. If anyone has any thoughts on this, do let me know.

I'm excited about this mod I would do it myself but unfortunately, I don't know how to make mods or cc  :(

Some other things I would like to see are a child support mod. That way if my sim starts working as a prostitute and there happens to be a slip up I can ask for help($$$) from the other party. I believe this would make the game more real and interesting. Also would like someone to create a special lot where you can go and get these special adult services and this lot would have special interactions like choosing one of the working escorts provided in that lot and them leading you into one of their many private rooms, after you have paid them of course  ;). Also would like there to be the possibility of being the boss(pimp) of that location that way you could hire any sim you want working for you and setting the prices and stuff like that. I think the person who created the WickedWhims Mod would do a great job making these mods I mean that mod he made was awesome i'm enjoying it very much I hope he reads this and makes it happen. One more thing all these ideas I wrote down should be compatible with each other to improve game game.  :D  :D  :D

Hey you read my mind! Your post and the OP's really has me intrigued into the possibilities of having independent prostitutes/escorts and full-on brothels in TS4. Having the brothel set as store selling sex with a hierarchy of workers (madame, working girls, bouncer, etc.) all with varying degrees and skills (possibly some handicaps too?) in providing to clients would be amazing.

Certainly would give sims 4 all my attention if this came to fruition in some degree, even if it's just simple prostitution.

Best of luck OP, I will be monitoring this closely!

Wonder if there's a way for someone to just make the Brothel venue type, Prostitute/Courtesans/Companion job type, and then incorporate "WickedWoohoo" into it. Probably wouldn't be that hard for someone experienced in this type of modding.

Honestly, I'm only interested in this because I'm trying to do a "History Challenge" and "Witcher" mashup. Obviously, I'd need brothels. I'm way too much of a perfectionist to not.
