landess
Not sure why I loaded up a save I have with Sims at University, but forgot it can be a unique experience. I had problems with it years ago and remember I recently sent Sims there to test some KW feature/function (successfully). Glad I decided to load it up. Spent more time playing the Sims 3 today than I have in awhile. Spoiler Spoiler 3 Link to post
landess
While my Sims were attending class, a couple of nerd dorm roommates were taking advantage of the peace and quiet. When I visited the dorm with the camera I noticed this scene and was reminded again of the Sims 2. They had a different form of 'traits' which came in different features. Things like fears, and turn-ons to give an example. I mention 'turn-ons' because one could choose these and they made for interesting situations. Some were simple like Blonde/Redhead/Brunette. Others were more specific and 'odd'. The one on my mind was Stink. Yes my fellow Simmers, your Sim could get turned on by another Sim's stink. Check the upper right selection in the following image - STINK! IIRC, players could choose 3 turn-ons and 2 turn-offs. The image shows all the selections by having multiple shots of the same selection screen with the slider at the bottom showing the options found from the right to the left. All EA 'had' to do was release the Sims 2 with an open world, Cas(t), and updated graphics..... but nooooo. <end rant> 4 Link to post
BulleCore
According to me, University is the most interesting world to discover how sims can enjoy sexy situations, I discovered that a long time before KW.. Now I really enjoy confronting them to the KW to verify if I was guessing well about their personalities (townies) and I was quite right, more surprised by the fact they are shameless indeed! I love that map! 💖 1 Link to post

I mean, a few traits isn't a deal breaker. Now for "All they need to do is"... RANT... Make TS3 as 64 bit on disk and call it TS5!!! A little work, take every mesh, double the vertices count, run it through a smoother program and on 64 bit looks 10x better. BUT.......... Link to post
landess
5 minutes ago, LadySmoks said: I really know nothing about 2 In this case it's true - Ignorance is Bliss! By not having experienced the Sims 2, then it's impossible to know what was lost and how the Sims 3 felt like so much less when it launched. We were given the open world which is amazing for the series. The main thing this did for game play was to make all time equal - that was a major point of contention for me playing 2. The player could have their sim(s) leave the home lot at say 6PM and go somewhere. Once arriving the clock would carry on as normal - 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 pm - getting tired, let's go back home. Upon arrival at home the time would be - 6PM...... So yeah, an open world has all sims on the same time of day. Yet there were So Many things 2 did well, which are almost impossible to list properly, from caring for a baby, to child and toddler interactions with various sims and pets, to objects the sims could buy. Sims didn't get a portable phone - they had to go to the store (open - not rabbithole) and purchase one from the Phone Kiosk. Same for food, clothing etc. What I'm getting at is it felt more like a real world from some interactions. It was just a foreshadowing of how EA would treat their game IP's. They really use your 'shiny' strategy to sell it now. Instead of 100, we'll sell them 65, and make it all shiny..... I feel fortunate so many creators have contributed to making the Sims 3 what it is today. The Sims 2 has dated badly for modern systems and while there has been a considerable amount of continued work on it, I have said KW is one reason I continue to play the Sims 3 today - it makes it adult and I'm an adult so there's that. Knowing what I know about the differences between the Sims 2 and 3, when 4 was announced it was a no brainer for me - I was going to wait.... a long time.... and see if it had any value whatsoever. landess
I've been running saves on my 'test' island for awhile with no real direction for game play, so decided to get serious with a Pirate themed save. One side will have the pirates and a criminal hideout called Smugglers Lair from Isla Paradiso. The other side will have The 'Govenor' and his family. Still trying to decide how many residents as it's a small island but could make all the 'normal' citizens work at a proper themed courthouse. I know I can place multiple rabbitholes on a lot using buydebug-on, so will likely mix and match a few buildings and have at least one 'open' building per lot for mingling. Still trying things ATM and may look for another small island with a slightly better layout. Yes, that large Pirate ship is a 'home'. I couldn't 'sink all the lot and realized the one section that remained above water level is the entrance - so I extended it and placed a mooring post for personal craft. My Sim was 'in the market'. I have enough Victorian style clothes and hairstyles so this could be fun. >>>>Arrrrrr! It's a freakin' houseboat. They called it a floating house and one part of the download was called 'Floating House Lot'. Lol - wtf? This is even better - only thing missing is cannons 3 Link to post
landess
I went for broke and decided on a larger Island: Palm Shadows. While replacing the few buildings already existing I found a huge lot and I decided to make a Plantation. Is it politically incorrect - Yes! Is it historically accurate - who cares? They're only Sims after all, and with KW involved, it's bound to get spicy. The owner, his wife and daughter plus butler live in the mansion. All the others have high gardening, green thumb, loves the outdoors and live in a 'community' building on the property. Only thing left now is deciding what crop to grow - mostly between trees or plants is my only concern for the lot visuals. Yes - 2 bondage racks for 'punishment'! Spoiler Okay - made my decision. The Plantation now has 300 banana trees growing. BTW, Remind me to never plant 300 fuckin banana trees again..... 3 Link to post
landess
I'll eventually get back to the plantation and fill out the lot to make it look more lived in, but need to play the game every now and then - or it begins to feel like work. So on to a small home with Adelwe and Tia Dalma getting cozy in out of the rain. Spoiler I went ahead and finished my evening by setting up the main pirates. It was early morning game time so of course they wanted to sleep. I guess I should do the same . . . . BTW - to the left is the stove (grill) refrigerator (urn) and garbage can (sack). 2 Link to post
landess
Most of the 'boring' work is out of the way and I can populate in earnest. Still, all sims require thought given the setting. Getting there.... Adelwe and Tia got a make-over thanks to the conversions at the link posted by Patriguz. ⛵ Spoiler It won't be long now. 3 Link to post

The Widow Arrington and her daughter Eva. (the game rolled the name ARRington 😎) What Pirate Island - I mean East Indies Colony, would be complete without Professional Courtesans? The Widow works at Hogan's Deep Sea Diner - She no likely sex. 3 Link to post

Hmmmm... It IS cheating, but as you do have KW, and taking your farm workers on travel probably isn't an issue, you can use KW debug, make them KW driods... Use Nraas MC> Advanced> Change Traits, and remove unwanted chips, and add the gardener chip. Not really FemmeBots, but as workers????? Link to post

Finding worlds without roads and anything I can do to make them 'not be present day' is a challenge. Plus my 'workers' ALL have the green thumb trait and I bumped all their gardening to 7. Some leveled to 8 just planting fuckin banana's (I never tried to see if a banana works like a carrot for KW purposes).
