Please don't hit me, but it's my first post on LL. I have had great success with the HDT breast physics - perfect and 5 stars all round! But I simply cannot get the hang of the ponytail.  The compressed download offers a collection of files and an ESP. Using NMM I popped it all into place and BOSSed it. Now, I do have Azar's hairs ESM, but despite the new ESP and files, my character retains her normal pre-defined Apachii hairstyle. So I tried ShowRaceMenu to find the relevant hairstyle, but I have not a clue which of the several ponytails I should use, though I would have hoped the ESP would have overridden my original character hair file. In the hair selection of ShowRaceMenu I did notice one hair with infinity stretch to the horizon (brings back memories of Obilvion and infinity boobs!) and I wondered if that was the hair I needed.  I must add I am using XP32's skeleton currently found on Nexus, so I may be lacking a newer version.  If someone could give me an idiot's guide to setting up the ponytail files I'd be most grateful. I can't really find a sensible list of 'how to do it' here on LL because the environment is so much more confusing and complex.  I have had a good hunt, and I would not post if I was not stuck!

 

I am pretty good with the usual tools like Wrye, NMM, etc. and have plenty of modding experience. But this beta stumps me.

Wow - i was just about to post this, more or less word for word!

 

Yeah i have the hair stretch to infinity thingy too.  I followed the instructions in the OP and when i install the 2mb dll i get CTDs on load.

 

 

Just install the hair pack XP32 posted with NMM and the HDT dll+xml (latest version) just as described at the first post. If you want to find out what hair it is use RaceMenu and CharGen-Core (latest versions) shows you what hair comes from what esp/esm.

 

Thanks for that - will give it a go. It may be the HDT version I have is now out of date although I picked them all up from there. CharGenCore I don't have, so I'll sweep that up.

 

Thank you, that did the trick!  I downloaded XP32s Nexus version of the Havok Hair mod, also dug out the 11:13 version of the HDT Physics DLL from the Baidu site, and it worked right away!  I even could spot the right hair in the ShowRaceMenu because the ponytail bobbed about when it turned up in the menu. Perfect!  My only problem is I can't give my character her full name back, because ShowRaceMenu auto-saves after typing in four letters of the characters name. Weird. Anyway - thank you for your help!

Could someone go step by step on how to make this work with CBBE?

 

I downloaded the XP32 Skeleton and CBBE, then generated TBBP bodies using Bodyslide++ and then ran FNIS.

 

But still the plugin does nothing for me. Anyone have any advice?

 

A bit more detail on what you've done would be helpful. Like where did you put the plugin? Have you checked SKSE and made sure it's at the latest version? Any messages in the hdtphysicsextension.log?

 

On a separate note, 11.14 release fixed the vibrating bewbs for me too.

I've tried using a 11-13, 11-14 and a few earlier versions and collision doesn't work... 

using XPMS, CBBE, SoS and fnis.

 

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated!

Have you edited the body/armor mesh to facilitate the collision? Also, there are 2 versions of 11-14. The earlier one had collision disabled.

With the latest 4 or 5 versions, I'm getting the "follower turns invisible / starts fluttering / body parts stretch to infinity" bug we experienced before the 9-28 release. The PC and non-following NPCs are unaffected. The problem usually occurs after a cell change, especially exterior to interior or vice-versa.

 

As far as I can tell, the most recent version that works with a follower (in this case Vilja) is the second of the two .dlls HydrogensaysHDT uploaded on 11-1. Everything with a later date, including today's, has the disappearing wobblies.

 

It also seems that the enhanced hair physics are causing problems: if I give Vilja an invisible helmet to wear, her hair turns invisible and she's bald as an egg. 9-28 is the latest release that doesn't make her hair disappear. I wonder if anyone else has run into similar glitches, and if there's a cure.

And try to kill npc in the wilds and undress them,got invincible body ?

Please go into inventory and back when this happens. Check if it's working again.

check your hdt logs are they saying something with delay etc.. ? If so maybe hdt is failing on your pc.

When hdt stops working i check hdt logs i get allot of spam with delay occurring.

I don't think so.

It stop working if a menu closed without a menuclosed event, or there's a menu showing which should not pause the plugin(but the plugin doesn't know that. menu from mod etc. ).

should I write menu open close into log? It will make it really huge.

Then how do i reactivate hdt from working again ?? I am also getting hdt to just simply stops working after a while. When i check the log i only see allot of delay in it.

I have not even used menu. sometimes when sexlab is initiated it will also simply stop working. exit the game and restart skyrim will make hdt work again.

I can confirm that Melt Down Everything will stop the HDT dll.
 
Selecting "Finish item meltdown" will always stop HDT.
Either in the Tannin Hack or in the Smelter

Wait a minute are you saying mod like elyse mem will also cause hdt to stop working ?? elyse makes menu working with dll when scroll button is activated.

other then that enb i have no other mod apart from SKyUI who uses menu.

hdt stops working after every single sexlab act, no matter wich dll i use. Restart the game helps but after the next sexact hdt stops working again.

dam'n i love the hdt system but if it stops working every time after sex i have to pick one or the other, in that case i will always choose sexlab.^^

 

I hope it will be possible to solve the problem because hdt is more than amazing.

I really can't fix that.

 

If only HDT plugin can separate this two entity to load xml in different layer: hairline.nif and hair.nif. Even if I disable collision or add collision filter info to both of them, they still will collide as if the 2 two xml is merged into one environment. I just need for this hair (hairline has different layer or something but they will collide to their own rigid inside their own xml, not other rigid from other xml;hair)

 

EDIT: NEW dll did make use of collision filter. I think I'm gonna do some tweak.

EDIT2: After some tweak, Seems "main hair.nif" ignore collision while "hairline.nif" did have the collision back. I put hairline nif at "collision filter info" layer 2 and put main hair nif at layer 1. Layer 2 and 1 did the work to ignore collision but one of them ignoring it. hmmm.. maybe if I put 0
