  Welcome to the Redux of mrrakkon's World!

This is a combined effort of over several weeks to bring you a world that is grounded yet familiar when it comes to the Sims.

 

The world is filled with things like wholesome families, pill popping party throwing college students, criminal empires, pornstars, and memerable Maxis reimaginings that I promise won't murder your childhood! ... Probably!

Notes:

AEP has not been updated in some time. It does function from my playtesting but if you're unsure then no worries. I have confirmed that you won't have any gameplay issues for not having the mod.

I have used content from all official EA releases excluding Journey to Batuu, and kits. I did edit buildings and sims from Glimmerbrook but I believe they are self contained. If you find any non-randomized Sims missing attire because RoM, JtB, or kits please let me know and I'll make sure it's fixed by the next update.

FAQ:
Q: What does Hard Requirements mean?
A: Hard Requirements are fundamental mods the save was built around.

 

Q. What are Optional Mods?

A. Optional mods are mods used in the save that can be removed without breaking anything. They are still highly encouraged.

 

Q: What are Suggested mods?

A: Mods that make my life easier in both playing the game and setting up this save. They can be safely ignored.

 

Q. What are Fluff mods?

A. Mods I didn't use for creating the save but have used in the past or have a really good reputation and can enhance your experience. As I am not actively using them I cannot offer support if they bug out your game.

 

Q: The game says things are missing when I load in.

A: You most likely didn't download suggested, optional, or the career mods.

 

Q: What is the Height Slider and why is it optional?

A: As the name implies, it gives sims individual heights for variation. It is optional because it can cause vanilla animations and some wicked whim animations to not line up.

 

Q. Why are so many sims short compared to others?

A. Based on mrrakkon's calculations with the optional slider, the base game height is exactly 6 feet tall. I haven't adjusted all vanilla sims to his metric yet and will slowly be doing so as new versions come out.

 

Q. Can you share your tray files?

A. No. Please wait for mrrakkon to upload updated and new characters on his own page.

 

Q. Why are the sims naked?
A. You didn't follow the instructions and download proper folders.

Mazuiko Jackson owns Mazuiko's Sushi Bar in Neon East. She aspires to win the Iron Stomach Octopus Eating Contest. She likes Tako, Uni and watching Skid Mark get concussions from skating. She dislikes static cling.

 

Storylines:
1) Leave your past behind and make sure your restaurant succeeds.
2) Make Neon East the greatest place to party! 5 star restaurant be damned!

Mimi and Ashley
Two party girls from two influential families. They're out on their own in the city for the first time of their lives. How much fun can they have?

 

Storylines:
1) Become known world wide celebrities!
2) Experience the pleasures of life! Sex, drugs, and rock and roll!
3) Become the it crowd of San Myshuno and the nearby Evergreen Harbor. Grab a drink with the leader of each crew, especially the man that runs this town, Darius.

 

Feng Family

Victor is a respected and high-powered politician. Lily is a tough businesswoman. Their respectful, yet somber nature masks their sinister, secret plans to one day take over San Myshuno! To maintain appearances, the couple's daughter's turn from impressive child prodigy to social rebel will have to managed as well.

 

Storylines:
1) As Victor, become an influential political figure and RULE over those below him.
2) As Lily, gain the power to oust business rivals such as the Landgraabs.
3) As Mary, escape the chains of your family and live the life you want so badly to live.

 

Burb Family

John, Jennifer and young Lucy have decided to trade the fast-paced city life for some fresh air, and hope to make a nice home here in Oasis Springs.

 

Storylines:
1) As John, make sure that you can provide for your wife and daughter and live the American dream!
2) As Jennifer, will you become the model housewife, or do you regret abandoning your dream of becoming a soccer superstar? Make the decision.
3) As Lucy, grow up with the support of your family and make a name for yourself!

 

Don Lothario

What can one say about Don Lothario? Some of his old girlfriends have suggested "lecherous low life" and "degenerate" but Don prefers the appellation "romantically ambitious".

 

Storylines:
1) The wall of love. Bang as many women as you can and add the evidence to your conquest wall in the form of a photograph… husbands be damned, though single girls are also an option.
2) Paging Dr Lothario. Rise through the medical field and have a few spicy workplace flings while you’re at it.

 

Caliente Sisters

Nina and Dina made a small splash locally when they modelled hand tools for a local hardware store. Nina is the brain of the twins, hoping to one day study medicine.

 

Storylines:
1) As Nina Caliente decide whether or not to continue coasting through life with the occasional fling or take your title as “The Brains of the Operation” and prove it to be true. The nearby universities are accepting applications…
2) As Dina Caliente decide whether or not your relationship with Michael will amount to anything. He’s potentially husband material but fooling around with Don is so much fun!
3) Screw ambition, you’re sisters! Go out and party! Drink! Dance! Bang as many men as you want! Rule Oasis Springs with your womanly ways!

Pleasant Family

On the surface, Daniel and Mary-Sue Pleasant seem to have the perfect life, but is their love a flimsy façade? And can Angela and Lilith make the right choices when it comes to love?

1) As Daniel, decide whether or not your family is worth having or if you rather start anew with that saucy minx of a maid. Your father never got to see his dreams come true, what about yours?
2) Mary Sue’s marriage is struggling, and so is her career in politics. What’s more important, success or your family’s stability?
3) Being Lilith isn’t easy. Your sister is a bitch, your dad is a cheating bastard, and your boyfriend is hesitant to put out… however is this anger worth it? Should you take life more seriously? Or should you give life the middle finger and ride this trainwreck to its final destination?
4) As Angela, you know your family is at high risk of collapsing. Can you save it? Your sister is unresponsive, your father disappears to places you don’t know, and your mother doesn’t seem to notice anything. Should you even bother to help everyone make amends? Or should you look out for yourself and try to have a normal life with Dustin? Though he doesn’t seem very stable himself…

 

Dreamer Family

Widower Darren is pursuing his dream of being an artist, while his son Dirk hits the books. Maybe Oasis Springs contains a potential muse. Perhaps something gothic, something caliente, or someone just as broken as he is.

 

Storylines:
1) The death of his wife left a hole in Darren's heart. Perhaps one of the women in Oasis Springs can fill that emptiness and become his artistic inspiration!
2) Dirk’s life is an odd one. His best friend is a delinquent, and his girlfriend is not only one as well but being rather pushy with her “affections.” Will he focus on his studies or maybe following the crowd and being a bad boy is the right path?

 

Broke Family

Brandi was left to raise two boys alone following her husband's suspicious pool ladder accident. With Dustin acting out, can Brandi teach young Beau to make the right choices in life?

 

Storylines:
1) Brandi is single with two kids and a third on the way. The bills are piling up. The situation doesn’t seem like it has much hope will she reach to her parents for help? Will she be able to keep her children well fed and happy? Is there room in her life to find someone to be happy with herself? Or perhaps throwing everything away and starting anew is the best option?
2) Dustin hates it here. His best friends Dirk and Lilith are chill, and his girlfriend Angela is alright. Though Dustin can’t think of a way to make things better. Should he listen to Angela and do his best to improve his grades and make things easier on his mom? Or would it be possible to convince her to run away from this stupid town and find better a life?

 

Landgraab family

The Landgraabs are old money. Nancy's family more or less founded the town, so it was no surprise that when she married Geoffrey, it was Geoffrey who changed his last name, not Nancy.

 

Storylines:
1) Nancy and Geoffrey didn’t marry for love. That much is obvious. Geoffrey is a sad excuse of a man that can’t even pleasure her properly. Perhaps it’s time for Nancy to find someone of true equal status?
2) Geoffrey knows he’s successful and is fully aware of his self-worth. Maybe it’s time he proves it to Nancy or perhaps he can keep the Landgraab name without needing to keep Nancy…

 

Mirage Park House

Four college students living in the suburbs of Del Sol Valley. Each with their own life goals, each with their own struggles in maintaining them.

 

Storylines:

1) As Jason McFadden can you keep your goals of starting a tech company with Tony intact without letting him fuck it up? Maybe it's possible to get him to take this shit seriously? Maybe it's time to ditch him? You are dating the e-celebrity and daughter of a rockstar Selda fucking Demirci. It's time to make a decision.

 

2) As Tony make up your mind on what you want to do with your life. Yeah you enrolled with plans on starting something with your best bud Jason but you've been getting in with some big time DJs and they can see your promise. So which will it be? Computers and friendship or making it big on the club scene?

 

3) You are Malcom Landgraab the III. Despite your roommates majoring in computers you are apparently the uncool nerd despite being host to their wild parties. Maybe it's time to show them how to really party? Or to hell with them. You are a Landgraab and are dating Hannelore of the Bedlington family, your parents have been wasting both family names on their squabbles. Time to take charge of your life.

 

4) As Trevor Coloma have a fun time. You're not really sure what you're looking to do but a college degree has to help somehow right? Maybe finish school and marry your girl? How about blowing off your education and meeting up with that skate crew in San Myshuno? Heading home to Sulani and settling down there also sounds fun.

Nice! Just a heads up to avoid any confusion, this is done with my permission and help. Talking about it I just didn't really have the patience or persistence myself to keep working on my world so when TriggerBlade was willing to pick up the slack I've been happy to help. This is much of what was in the old version of my save, though there are differences here and there, plus more of my original sim creations have been implemented than was the case in the old version of the save I made myself. 

I'll keep up my sim collection of course, though many of the sims you see here might be more "up to date" versions than I have been able to upload there yet

I've covered every possible NPC that I know of that exist in the game and I specifically placed a bunch of teens.

I did set every homeless sim and NPC sim as hidden in the control center though so that may be why you don't see them.

I have been made aware of this issue and I am working on fixing it.

I talked with mrrakkon and rather than condense into fewer files, the new CC folder will be the complete package most likely downloaded google drive.

I should have that uploaded today and a 1.5 version of the save that will have some of the kinks ironed out either today or tomorrow.

Just wanted to chime in to say this is amazing and I love it. Thanks for doing this collab, I'm looking forward to the next round of updates!!

 

Curious if anyone has any tips on how to play in worlds like this with updates. Like should I just wait for a new/complete-ish save, decide I'm gonna stick with that one and start playing? Or is there a way to update your current save to include all the new material?

Well some things are complete-ish.

 

The Sims 2 households are for the most part done. The Goths will be getting an update later on but everyone else should be fulfilling to play.

 

Nick Alto's mafia is fully set up and you can run his criminal empire.

Alfonzo's stripclub is fully set up and managing that can lead to some sexy times.

 

I set up a small plot in Mt. Komorebi where a depressed loner lives with a cheery conveyance store owner.

 

There's an unadvertised household I threw in Strangerville for giggles that I believe would be fun to play out! But keep it a secret  ;-D

 

Jason and his girlfriend Selda's friend groups are mostly complete and should also give you a good experience.

 

While the majority of Urbz content will be coming in a later update, Neon East is set up and Mazuiko Jackson's restaurant/rave needs your help to succeed!

 

As for adding future updates to already played saves? That's not really possible. mrrakkon will likely add almost everything he sends my way for the save to his regular page.

The intent for how I want to develop the save will have small updates that add a family or two and larger updates that will include new storylines and plenty of sims to interact with.

Small updates may be just extensions to friend groups, linking the various different stories together. Larger updates will add entirely new experiences such as the plans for integrating the Urbz in a similar fashion to how the Sims 2 sims were worked in. The foundation of which is already set. Other larger updates will include the Simkuza, which Jason's best friend Tony already knows someone who will be attached to that.

 

TL;DR I guarantee you'll enjoy what's there right now. Larger updates are worth restarting for since they'll add completely new possible stories.

Awesome, thanks for the thoughtful and in depth reply. Definitely the current save is _super playable_ with tons of content, and like I said, legit stunned at all you've got going on here. I might wait till v.2 to really get going but was mostly asking just in case there was some clever way of integrating save files that I'd overlooked haha and the answer is no, which is totally reasonable and not your problem

I'm not sure if anyone's crashing since the update, but something inside the Build Objects folder caused it. Haven't pin-pointed yet.

 

EDIT: Pin-pointed it to pbox_liberated-vehicles package. Once removed everything else seems fine.

Wow... I didn't even know what you were talking about until I tried running the game right now and it wouldn't even boot. Removed that one file and bam, worked fine.

i have a problem where during sex animations the heights of the sims don't match up and it messes up the animations

That's just the reality of using a heightslider, height differences will cause misalignments, there is no way around it. 
 

The heightslider used is called heightslider2.package, it's an old and simple one that I use that simply replaces the foot size slider. 

Remove that package and you'll get rid of the the height differences (though you'll notice that the formerly short sims have pretty small feet).

 

Some custom height sliders are sort of "supported" by WW in that they're reset to default during WW sex animations. The one I use however is not, but I prefer using it because it's easy to use and can be removed and re-added without causing issues while still preserving the heights I've set (which are just based on the slider values for the feet).

I don't know if you have noticed these problems, but they weren't fixed in 1.5:

• The Oldies are not set as Mary-Sue Pleasant's parents
• The Foxbury Professors household - 1 male and 1 female are both named Lana McKinnon. 1 male and 2 females are both named Serena Bharma
• The original Serena Bharma and Lana McKinnon are in the College NPCs household

Yeah - first thing I changed after copying everything over was removing the height sliders. Love the idea but they don't really work.
