I'll keep digging. It's one of those problems where just playing the game with the error seems like a better use of my time then spending hours setting up a new test game and turning on mods one by one to identify the culprit, but that's probably the only way to find a solution.

Thanks, maybe I will. I'll give it a few more months to see if the original authors return first and in that time I'll possibly try to learn how to patch them myself if I have time.

When you installed, did you make sure to delete the old RJW folder and paste over it? If not that, reproduce the problem and send me your hugslog (ctrl+f12 in-game) and I'll take a look at it.

However, @c0ffeeeee i'd recommend sticking to a more version-based release using LoversLab's mod-posting system, over relying on GitLabs or GitGud to download, you will run into way more issues if you don't handle the updates yourself. Like each user downloading it all from the same place, at different times, and having issues that you've either already fixed, or being unaware of updates and complaining their problems aren't fixed. All in all, this system you have right now works for a small community based mod project, but it's going to get rough to work with it later on. As someone who doesn't play with the latest version of the mods, it's even more complicated lol

At the beginning I want to say thank you for an excellent job. A few months ago I wouldn't have expected to have something like this created for this mod so soon but it adds a lot of flavour. Really a lot.

 

Regarding the animations themselves:

1. With female on female rape they always seem to take this position. Huang is the rapist here while Lynx is the victim. Wouldn't it make more sense if the victim and the rapist switched positons? To me it seems a more likely combination to occur- I imagine it's easier to forcefully keep someone below you than above you but I may be wrong. ?

2. I think the animation above would actually work well for male on female sex too, is there an easy way to convert it that way? A more "classical" male on female animation is what I'm missing the most in this RJW Addon.

3. Is there a way to disable certain animations for actions that can take more than one animation?

Whoops, got the initiator context wrong, should be fixed in the latest update.

 

I'm planning on making a missionary position sometime in the future. You might be able to convert it to male/female but I'd prefer to make another animation so that the layering is accurate.

 

I don't quite understand the last question. You mean like for specific jobs?

Yeah, and I have HAR installed .3. 

I did manage to fix the issue by clean wiping all of rimworld and going through the process of re-installing mods about 7-8x So I guess the problem is resolved? I think some of the mods got corrupted on download?

Since this wasn't answered, I'll try to explain how to change this yourself.

 

You want to find the the Animations_vanilla.xml file, which contains all the information for these particular animations. Look for <defName>AnimationName</defName> within the file, there should be four of them, Doggystyle, Blowjob, ReverseStandAndCarry, and Cowgirl. After each, you should see <sexTypes>, followed by certain types of sex, such as Anal, Vaginal, or Oral.

 

If you don't want to see a certain animation for a type of sex, just remove it from the list for that animation. For example, if you don't want to see the cowgirl animation during anal sex, go the section below <defName>Cowgirl</defName> and remove the <li>Anal</li> from the sexTypes. If you want to add one, you do the same thing but add the type of sex to the list instead of removing it. If you don't want to see the animation at all, you can clear the list of sexTypes so that it will never trigger the animation.

 

For example:

If you want an animation to occur only during Vaginal sex, it should look like this...

<defName>Cowgirl</defName>

<label>cowgirl</label>

<sounds>true</sounds>

<sexTypes>

  <li>Vaginal</li>

</sexTypes>

 

and if you want to stop an animation so that it no longer happens, it would instead look like this... (This would remove the Cowgirl animation)

<defName>Cowgirl</defName>

<label>cowgirl</label>

<sounds>true</sounds>

<sexTypes>

</sexTypes>

 

You could also potentially remove the animation altogether, which would mean deleting everything from <Rimworld_Animations.def> to </Rimworld_Animations.def> for that animation, including those two lines. Be cautious that you don't delete something from another animation if you do that though.

I concur with this. It'd be nice to designate if an animation was consensual, rape, or whatever. That way we wouldn't see both tame and aggressive animations regardless of the situation.

I was having a look at it before you replied and I thought that would be the way to go, was about to test it sometime soon.

Hi, First, thanks very much for the mod -- have been enjoying it!

 

Earlier this week I noticed that pawns engaging in the animations on a different map still show up on my current map.  Specifically, I'm using Save Our Ship 2, and most of my colonists are on the ship.  I have a very small defended perimeter on the planet by the crashed Johnson-Tanaka Drive while it does the 15 day cooldown period for getting the part necessary to make the jump drive.

 

As I'm building up the defenses, I see the sex animation for two of my married colonists playing planetside, even though they are still on the ship (which I believe is treated as a different colony map).  The animation flickers in and out.  I was able to take a static picture -- please see attached.  This has happened a few times since.  It doesn't appear to create any problems, and is just an odd visual bug.  I'm not sure if this is specific to when colonists are on the ship map for Save Our Ship 2, or if it happens with multiple colonies/bases on the planet as well.

 

Happy to provide more details, full mod list (which is quite big), etc, if that might be helpful.

Wow, that's weird. I didn't expect the pawns to render in animation if they weren't rendering to begin with. I'll take a look at it.

Notice to anyone that are having problems:

 

I was able to fix most of my issues by deleting and reinstalling the lastest version rimworld. Furthermore, If you are in the habit of jumping from the steam to GOG games and back again, look at your uninstall programs list. If you see multiple versions of rimworld there, delete all them and reinstall again.

 

My current problem with RJW Animation Framework is this:

 

JobDriver threw exception in initAction for pawn Horse66523 driver=JobDriver_Breeding (toilIndex=2) driver.job=(Breed (Job_7444) A=Thing_Human830)
System.MissingMethodException: bool rjw.Genital_Helper.has_vagina(Verse.Pawn)
 

 

Is RJW Animation RJW 4.2.7 compatible?

Very nice work! I was inspired to create some additional animations based on the originals :) 

 

I've include the definitions in the code block below if anyone wants to use them. All you need to do is copy-paste the code into a text file, call it something like "Animations_new.xml" and place the new file under 'rimworld-animations-master\Defs\AnimationDefs'

 

Includes an animation for 

- sixty-nines

- butterfly (woman on back, man standing / kneeling)

- boob job

- hand job

- foot job

- fisting

- fingering

- cunnilingus

- rimming

- mutual masturbation

 

Note that sixty-nines, cunnilingus and blow jobs are all marked with a generic 'oral' sex type, so the animation played during sex may not match the pawn log

No, and go back to the future, Mr. TimeTraveller, since 4.2.1 is the latest release.
But really, no. It appears to be throwing errors in my game at least, which it normally only does when versions are incompatible.
