@peco328, sometimes it seems to me that the channel sounds too loudly and I don't hear the sims talking while the channel is on. Did you compared the sound volume with the default channels? Personally I didn't do that but I just thought maybe it makes sense.

By the way, I absolutely love the sound (music) of Pirates, it fits so great!

yeah, they're definitely louder on average, but tbh, i don't find it that prominent ingame (turned up every audio slider to max to check it out).

the middle - where both videos play music - is equally loud. i dunno man, i mean i could re-encode the videos, but its such a piss ass job to do (takes 3-8 tries per video to find a version that doesn't crashes the game, each turn taking like 20-30 minutes to do including the ingame testing), that i would rather not... or at least not right now.

My bad if it was already brought up but would you consider adding a second tv channel that runs real videos? I know one guy who made one but its only one show and there was much room for improvement. Since then I cannot think of someone who would do something like that and I'd love to have that

sorry, but that's a DEFINITE NOPE from me.

making videos is the fun part, converting them into a mod is not.

it's not incredibly hard to make your own tv channel if you follow the steps, but it's quite tedious. but be warned, encoding videos is borderline infuriating because of how picky the Sims4 engine is. (probably that's why the other guy gave up.) + i would end up buried by a never ending tsunami of requests - "make a blacked channel", "make a gay channel", etc etc. - i don't want that either.

Hey, great job. Actually I was looking for something like that a few days ago and bam!... you came with this wonderfull option.

 

I just want to ask if we are able to add our own videos..... I don't know, maybe to make our experience more aligned to the story we have on our sims storyline.

I'm afraid adding videos is far from a straightforward easy "just drop an AVI into a folder" like it was in Sims 2 for example.

But, as I said it in the post above, it's not incredibly hard to do, if you follow the steps, it's just tedious AF.

I like the concept of this mod but it kind of bugs me that the porn is labeled directly after real world media, it's kind of immersion breaking (for me at least). Are there any plans to make up some content with custom plots and titles?

Here's what the original maxis string looks like:

TROUBLESHOOTING:
I've thoroughly tested the channel, letting it play continously for a full ingame week. It did not crash the game; but in the very rare occasion if the audio is getting out of sync after long, continous play, changing the channel to something else then changing it back will solve the issue. (this happened to me only once during testing, never managed to reproduce it.)

(it was still hard as fuck to make these, the Sims 4 engine is - khm - "quite picky" when it comes to videos... i swear to god, it took me more time to compile the packages to the proper format then actually making the videos :D)
