Hi everyone! A few people may remember me as a developer from Black Star, a short fan-made remake of Grimhelm’s game, Dark Star.

So time has passed, things have changed and I decided to gather a new team and make my own, original hentai game - and I have the first demo ready for the public.

With an international team of veterans and talented newcomers, this 2.5D sci-fi/cyberpunk platformer focuses on side-scrolling platforming action, multiple approaches in gameplay with a branching optional visual novel storyline that is sure to entertain with a lively, unique and diverse cast of characters.

Guilty Force is a blend of both classic western and anime influences that bring a fresh look to a familiar genre, inspired by media both new and classic, such as Deus Ex, Mass Effect and more!

Controls:

WASD/Directional keys - movement & jump/crouch, hacking mini-game control;
Left/Right Shift - sprint or rolling out when crouching;
Tab - character menu (Left Mouse Button - open item/upgrade menu);
Z/B - shoot; R - reload;
X/N - front melee attack, execute takedown (when keeping being close to the enemy);
V/M - stun takedown (when keeping being close to the enemy);
C/G + Directional keys - Aim and throw a grenade or another object;
E/Q - dragging bodies / interaction;

CHANGELOG (ver. 0.215 [Public])

It's strongly recommended to start the game from the very beginning due to the modification of saving progress code. Some old saves from v. 0.21 may work, but they will not be stable.

Features:

1) Stage 2 content available for the public;
2) The updated prologue with voiceover and auto-progress;

Fixed bugs/improvements:

1) Fixed a bug with losing mission completion data;
2) Fixed a bug with Caron's scene playing all the time when visiting her with proper affection level;
3) Fixed Fat Thug HCG not unlocking after completing Stage 2.1/2.2/2.3;
4) Fixed a couple of broken lines of the first conversation with Ming;
5) Decreased the volume of all click sounds for UI to make it more ear-friendly;
6) The frequency of some voice commands for enemies was decreased to avoid spamming with voice commands too often;
7) Decreased the intensity of some spotlights on Stage 1 to make it look equally on Low and Medium graphics quality;

Fixed bugs/improvements:

1) Overhaul of the game’s color correction and stylization, each scene has a more distinctive color correction that affects not only the scene but the characters/portraits, too. The characters better blend into the environment this way. You can still check “Ignore background color bonus” in the Settings if you want to keep in-game characters brighter. Color correction is not applied for the gallery animations and HCG viewer to provide more options for users;
2) Auto-zoom during in-game sex scenes will automatically zoom out after the scene is finished. Also, the auto-zoom for sex scenes can be turned off in the Settings at all. You still can use the manual zoom if you want;
3) Gameovers and VN sex scenes can be replayed with voiceover in the gallery menu under the “Memory” button, it replaced “Gameovers” button there;
4) Major update to UI colors and more eye-friendly UI stylization. Screen post-effects are added for the damage with low HP, EMP, low energy, damage from gases, etc.;
5) The player can walk through the enemies when having an invulnerable shield after the sex scene. Also, the player will fall through the enemies on the ground if she was stunned in the air. It decreases the number of “stunlock” situations significantly;
6) Visual tracking upgrade highlights pipes/cover objects/landmines/enemy turrets, the second tier of this upgrade highlights the pickable items’ zones, too.
7) The player will take several types of falling damage depending on falling speed/height;
? The enemies can drag the player from the doorways if they touch the doorway during an alarm. 
9) Direct enemy touch to the player when hiding in the temporary box cover will cause the alarm for sure this time. It also will stop the player’s interaction with a body or pipe if the player was visible;
10) Drawing order for enemies, player, and cover objects was set to the same drawing order as level geometry;
11) Some changes were done to the main character animations;
12) The corpses of enemies are affected by gravity now;
13) The player will be able to perform takedowns to the enemies from behind while being in the doorways or in the invisible mode in some cases.
14) Several firing modes were added, mostly for Agency’s weapons. Selecting the same equipped weapon in a quick access panel will change its current firing mode.
15) New enemy traps: laser-detonated mines, motion detector detonators, automatic turrets, etc.;
16) The issue with silencers/gun colors was fixed and there was a rifle silencer added as an option, too.
17) Fixed missing current mission stats when loading the save;
18) Fixed one bug that blocked the startup of the game when the player loaded the save with red keycard plot item;
19) Fixed player’s resources UI update in CC after closing the weapon customization menu;
20) Fixed blinking tooltip bug for Inventory/Upgrades windows;
21) The usage of EMP will disable landmines/turrets for some time;
22) The player’s HP/Energy will be restored at the start of each new mission from CC. Some re-balance was done to explosions, giving more randomness and possibility to survive, etc.
23) The invisibility will not spend the energy during a cutscene;
24) Destroyed robots will not be counted as kills, disabled robots via control centers will be counted as neutralizations;
25) Some stage 2 enemies were rebalanced;
26) Added some password hints for the last two terminals of Stage 1; 
27) Sigolla’s portrait was improved by making her a little bit more muscular;
28) Some redundant level geometry was removed from the Stage 1 missions and some minor optimization was done to them, too.

3) You can enable VSync in Settings to lock the framerate of the game on your device now, also you can disable the stealth bonus from the background, it may increase the performance of the game on some mobile devices. We don’t recommend using VSync if the performance of the game is okay on your device;
4) Enemy AI will react on barehanded attack damage, as well as it will call the friends for backup more often;
5) Decoy device will stabilize enemy AI awareness instead of raising it with each use;
6) HE grenade was nerfed;
7) Poison gas grenade will kill the enemies faster, but it can raise the alarm if the enemy awareness was raised enough;

1) 90% of dialogues were a little bit modified by me to make them sound more emotional and understandable. starryGrail is temporarily out of the core team due to health condition;
2) [ Z ], [ C ],[ X ], [ V ] keys were duplicated to [ B ], [ G ], [ N ], [ M ] keys to make the gameplay more comfortable on keyboard;
3) In-game HUD was made more intelligent to occupy less space on the screen;
4) Sex scene mini-game was updated;
5) The loading time for the levels was significantly decreased because of additional optimization;
7) Linux: fixed double-jump;
? "Graphics quality" setting was added to the Settings, so if your Android device is OK with Android port performance, you can make the game look there almost like it looks on PC.
9) Other minor bug fixes.

1) Chinese (Traditional) localization (Early access-please proceed with caution! (currently only Traditional, but Simplified is in progress) )
2) New grenades: sleeping gas, poison gas, smoke, flashbang, EMP. Also there is a new, non-lethal tool for enemy distraction ? small stones. The ballistics and damage dealing mechanics for HE grenade was improved. These tools provide more options for a stealthy or non-lethal/pacifist walkthrough;
3) Kira can grab and move bodies of stunned/dead enemies. She can also hide them in dark doorways to prevent detection; be aware! She moves slowly while dragging!
4) There is a new separate slider in Settings menu for male voice volume in sex scenes. The frequency of male voice effects appearance in sex scenes was reduced by 30%;
5) A bunch of different improvements in Stage 1 level design: more and better lit doorway locations, new terminals for hacking and disabling cameras, etc.;
6) +25% sprint speed;
7) -25% camera detection speed;
?Hacking mini-game can now also be controlled by W/S keys, too, making it more convenient to play

Hi! HTML5 version is not stable because of Unity WebGL support, downloadable standalone version is much faster and more stable. Especially on medium / low settings if you have some simple PC or mobile device.

It’s strongly recommended to start the game from the very beginning due to the modification of saving progress code. Some old saves from v. 0.21 may work, but they will not be stable.

Hm, interesting, HQ is the least resource-consuming part of the game. Can you try to check this "Ignore background stealth bonus" option in the Settings and tell me if it improved the performance and did it resolve the issue with the heat? Thanks

it improved performance, but still in HQ, it starts heating up my graphics card. i just loaded that savegame and not even a second later, the GPU fans were starting to get really loud.

I finished demo missions and tbh its the first side scroller game that i fully played and enjoyed , after downloading v 0.31,loading up my save and starting mission 3 i realized that the new characters are completely bugged , most of the commands dont work on them like grenade jump sprint even shoot and npc s cannot damage them , even the animations like falling wont act . Not to mention that left right is reveresed . So is it only me who has this problem on windows 10 or others are experiencing it aswell?

P.S. Due to the technical limitations of Unity, the game can't get the full list of supported resolutions of your device on Android. So I made a technical workaround by assembling a list of the most popular Android resolutions. You can play with picking lower/higher resolution for your device to check how the UI fits the screen and does it improve the performance of the game or not. 1280x800 worked well for my Android tablet and 1280x720 / 1920x1080 worked well for my phone. Fullscreen checkbox determines whether an application will render outside safe area with Android buttons or not.

Hi! I apologize for my late reply :) The game doesn't limit FPS by default, yes, but there was V-Sync feature introduced into Settings menu to try to fix framerate in the game. I did it for mobile phones to make the game run smoothly, but I didn't know that it can be useful for PC today, too.

my experience has shown that using vsync on a game that runs smoothly (casually even raising to 4 digits of fps) causes it to drop far below 60fps.

vsync only makes it so that only full images are being sent to the screen, so there's no tearing - this is only useful if the game is struggling to reach the desired FPS.

a fps limiter on the other hand just reduces load on the graphics card.

idk why, but since i updated my graphics drivers, the Riva tuner refuses to work and i can no longer apply a FPS limiter of 60 fps.

so first the game runs smooth and great. then when finishing the first mission, the fps go up, until my hardware heats up and the fps stutter. i had to shut down the game again.

i'm on an AMD fx8350 (8 cores @4GHz), 16GB DDR3 RAM and a MSI RX570 oc with 8GB VRAM. just in case that info helps ¯\_()_/¯

the problems don't occur within the mission - only on board of the ship

Erm... this isn't quite right.  First of all, the maximum (useful) framerate possible is the refresh of your monitor.  Period.  Anything higher, your GFX card may be rendering more frames than that, but it's irrelevant since the display never shows them.  All you're really doing then is making your GPU and CPU do extra work for nothing.  Trying to get a higher FPS than your monitor can display is wasted effort and extra strain on your hardware, and if you make it high enough, will actually cause skipping/stuttering which to me, looks far far worse than slight tearing.

 

Whether or not your GPU sends full images isn't turned on or off by using or not using vsync.  That's determined by your frame buffer settings.  Most often these days, that's 2, which means your GFX card will process and store 2 images in VRAM to be "ready for sending" as soon as it gets the "go" signal from the display.  If you've somehow set this to zero for some odd reason, then it won't store anything.  It renders and sends as soon as it's both done, and the display can take it.  Usually not a good idea, IMO.  You can however increase this if you have a powerful GFX card by increasing your frame buffer settings.  The most typical method would be to turn on triple buffering, which renders and stores 3, rather than 2 frames.

 

You might look into playing with your image buffer settings, along with Adaptive Vsync if you have it available.  That's really useful when it works properly for games that tend to bounce a lot between highs and lows if you want to reduce tearing (when the FPS is higher than your display), but to also tell it when the FPS dips down NOT to wait and just fire away as fast as the GFX hardware is able.  Most of the time, if you've got vsync on when you're generating less frames than your refresh, it can actually hurt (as much as about 50%) your ultimate frame rate.  Adaptive Vsync is supposed to monitor and adjust to this on the fly, though again it isn't always implemented very well, so results vary a lot.

 

You might also consider backing off a little on your OC settings.  From what you've described, it's not impossible that when your card is under serious load, it's getting close to heat boundaries that may not cause a shut down, but may very well be impacting performance.

 

Anyways... just hoping something in there might be helpful.

well, whenever my PC does the heat emergency shutoff, the FSB is the hottest component.

still i don't get why this only occurs within ship and not on the missions.

 

i don't have screen tearing - i got a stable 60fps (as is the max of my screen) during missions and once i enter the ship, it sometimes starts stuttering and the card heats up.

are there ways of manually deactivating effects of the renderer for this game in some game ini?
